The Belgian wall. Great variety of harder to find beers.

Unexpectedly cool beer store in Oak Harbor! The selection here is for people who know their favorite beer isn't in a gas station, or for those looking to discover new beers. They carry the most interesting, eclectic beers, and they're all priced per bottle. Call beforehand if you're looking for something specific though, because he doesn't have large quantities of much. The bottles range from just over $1 to $25, and it's all mix and match. He has everything from Belgian imports to local scotch barrel-aged stouts. The owner is super knowledgeable and can recommend interesting beers based on your tastes and interests. I went in looking to browse but found so many interesting, different, or hard to find beers that I walked out with a case! The owner gives a 5% case discount, and boy is it easy to find that many beers to buy there. He also does growler fills and sells his own branded growlers, which look quite neat. They are clear though, which is alternately really cool (because you don't see many clear growlers) or a little off (because it doesn't preserve the beer well). Granted, if you're trying to preserve beer in a growler, you're doing it wrong! (Drink it!!) Interesting selection, reasonable prices, and growler fills to boot!

5 stars for the huge selection. We were stationed in Germany and found some of favorite hard to find German beers here like Franzikaner.

They have a great, inexpensive and unpretentious wine list with plenty by the glass. We split a glass of rose and it was lovely! The food was just okay. They bragged about having large portions but our $18 cheese plate was a small snack for sure. It also said it came with fruit and chocolate and they only brought out the cheese, crackers, and nuts. Not sure if they were out, we didn't have enough time to talk to our server to figure this out. The servers were all in a huge hurry and missed a lot. I know they were busy and don't completely blame them, but it was definitely amiss. They asked if we wanted more wine and we said no, so they cleared our food quickly even though we were still eating. They also put a reserved sign on our table while we were still there (we only stayed maybe 25-30 min) and told us that someone else wanted our table. It was kind of rude and we felt super rushed by the servers. We really felt like we were being hurried out and didn't get the full experience. They also took our water glasses and dumped them on the ground next to us while we were still sitting and before we were done. They could not have been more blatant about wanting us to go even though we weren't there long. I would probably revisit on a slower day to see if things improved, but the service wasn't great.

The bartender, Lucy, repeatedly added money to the tip jar without asking, which left me feeling like my money was being taken without my consent. The food has also gone downhill, and the area around the bathrooms consistently smelled like urine. The biggest reason I won't return is the new security guard. Based on my own experience, he previously came into the bar when he didnt work there and frequently made young women uncomfortable by hitting on freshly 21-year-old customers and staring at people from the corner and makeing nasty comments . Now he's working security and using his phone while checking IDs, which did not make me feel comfortable. I know this man and im not letting him take photos of my id for his stash. The atmosphere has completely changed. What used to feel like a neighborhood bar now feels like an over-policed club. Security constantly follows customers around, making it impossible to relax and enjoy yourself. On top of that, the security guard regularly smokes in the entrance, blowing cigarette smoke toward customers as they walk in. It's unprofessional and creates a terrible first impression. From what I personally observed, many of the other employees seemed frustrated with the behavior of these two staff members as well. After more than a decade of being a loyal customer, I'm extremely disappointed in what this place has become. I can't recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of better bars that treat their customers with respect.
