I visited this shop early on a Saturday morning. I had gotten a tune-up at a bicycle shop in the Greater Boston area in preparation of cycling Vermont Route 100, and picked up my bike on Friday night (the night before I planned to leave). When I brought it home (and after the shop had closed) I found that my bike's chain was making noise in certain gears. I tinkered around with the derailleur to try to fix the problem, but to no avail. I feared that my Vermont trip would have to be cancelled. I decided to try to find a shop in Brattleboro, my planned starting point, and selected this one because it opened the earliest. I visited there early on Saturday, explained the issue, and immediately was introduced to a mechanic (I asked for his name but have since forgotten it, unfortunately). He kindly and patiently explained what he was doing as he went through his evaluation to diagnose the issue, and invited me to stand alongside him to watch and learn. Within minutes, he deduced that the height of the derailleur was incorrectly adjusted by the previous mechanic, causing the chain to rub in high gear. He made the correct adjustment and it worked perfectly. Amazingly, he didn't even want to charge me more than $10, although I insisted on giving him that and then some for his help (and for basically saving my trip). I love cycling, but I know that visiting bicycle shops can be a frustrating process. Many bicycle mechanics seem to delight in making the customer feel ignorant. Here, the mechanic was not only skilled and instructive, but he was completely without pretension. It is a shame that I live more than two hours away from this shop, or it would be my default for repairs. As it turned out, the mechanic's adjustment on a Saturday morning ended up saving my cycling trip, and the bicycle has functioned perfectly since.

Their prices are really good! I was just planning to buy wheels, but I also ended up buying laces and a skate wrench. I put in my order November 16 at night and I received my package on November 19 in the afternoon! I did not expect it to be that fast so I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything came packaged well and my items all arrived in perfect condition. Highly recommended if you're looking to order online from them.

Well, I happened upon the Nordicskate.com website, and saw they had 3-wheeler skates with speed control and a breaking system. So I sent an inquiry email. I got a call from Josh who was so very helpful in recommending the V2 Aero XL 150 RC skates, that I opted to rent them for two weeks as that was an option with them. Well, my 1 st time out was amazing! The speed controllers really helped me in keeping at a pace in which I was comfortable. I promptly called up Nordic Skate and paid to keep the skates. I'm really confident that come winter, I will be able to begin cross- country skiing! But first, I plant on a trip to Nordic Skate in VT. This August where I will have the wonderful people there find the perfect skis for my upcoming winter fun! All I can add is that if you want to learn to ski and can't even skate, give these guys a call! They are just plain awesome, I wish all shops were as helpful and outgoing as these fine folks at Nordic Skate! Bill and his staff have always been so helpful in guiding me in my purchases to ensure I get the best equipment for my needs. I am working with Bill right now to purchase a new board from them even though I live in Scottsdale, AZ now. He's been great steering me away from companies that aren't producing great stuff anymore, and introducing me to better options that I will enjoy more.
