I meant to write my review sooner but something always came up, but finally here is my chance! I have never tried threading, but all my friends who have done it said it's the best thing for hair removal. They all love it so much! Couple days before I decided to try threading, I went on Yelp to search for a salon around my area that offers threading services. Whisper 2 a Scream came up and since I am a thorough person, I read all the reviews. The recent review that was written when I read it, was NOT happy reviewer and that made me a little concerned. I am also a very self conscious about my image, because I too am a heavier set girl, nor am I blond. Since this place offers waxing also, I set up an appointment with Lila anyways, because I thought "What the hell?! What do I gotta lose?" All the satisfied reviews outweighed that one dissatisfied review, and if I don't like it, I won't have to go back ever again! The day I went for my appointment, I also had to wait to be seen by Lila. I waited about five-ten minutes and then I finally get to meet this Lila everybody has been roaring about. She was very apologetic and sincere, and started on me right away! I didn't mind getting threaded out in the open because everybody there is professional and mature enough, and they're too busy doing their own thing to even notice. Lila took me to a separate room for my waxing. I got to agree with everyone when they say she's the best at what she does! You can tell Lila has been doing this for a while, and that she is passionate at what she does. But I must say that all the great things said about Lila does not do her justice! She is a beautiful woman inside and out, and her kind nature makes you feel comfortable. Even though it was my first time to meet Lila, she treated me like family, and that's what I liked the most, and it also doesn't hurt that she provides AWESOME results too!! First of all, this place totally ROCKS! The intimate feeling is great and everyone you meet feels like they are your best friend. Karin is a perfectionist when it comes to coloring and cutting hair. But I know each of the stylists in this chic salon are great. They are experienced and know how to work with all different types of cuts, colors and styles. (I honestly hesitate in telling you too much about how great they are because I like getting my appointment! I don't want you to take my spot! HA!) Trust me...I am very picky when it comes to service and my vanity and she's worse than me. (That's a great trait for a hairstylist.) I love that there is no double booking here and every minute I'm there is spent on my hair. The salon has easy parking and everyone is super sweet and personable, but not in a fake way like so many other places. The quirkiness of each person also makes this place a fun experience. I have never had to wait for my appointment as it seems that they have mastered booking each client. When a client is super late the receptionist is great about calling to see if you want to come 15 minutes later. If not, they make it work with the time you already had booked. This salon deserves way more than 5 stars!!! read more

I'd have to agree with Falon! I moved to Rancho Cucamonga from AZ 3 and a half years ago. I got a brazillian wax religiously, by an amazing woman, for about two years before the move. Once arriving in SoCal I was lost, I had no idea who to go to. Having someone do a brazillian on you is not exactly like having your hair done. If you don't like it, you're not going to go to a bunch of people till you find the right one. You want the least amount of first experiences with someone as possible. After going one full year without, simply out of fear of having a horrible experience, I mustered up the courage, picked a place and exactly what I was hoping didn't happen, happened. I had the worst experience of my life and wondered if I would ever find someone who would treat me with such care and comfort as I'd had before. About a year and a half later, I was recomended to Lila. She is without a doubt, beyond my wildest dreams. She and her services are by far, the greatest delight. When I met her, it was as though I'd been coming to her for years. I felt extreme comfort instantly. She saved me!! She is the BEST there is!! I have been coming here practically my whole life and all of the stylists here have unbelievable talent that extends even as far as being a warm friend you look forward to talking to. Every time I go into the salon I really enjoy my time here which is why I'd never go anywhere else! There are so many places that are simply overrated. When I walk into Whisper I feel like I am actually in a salon-- not a brand new building with four white walls and a low ceiling where you can still smell the fresh paint. This place has character and character matters because it stands out from all of the rest. When you come into this salon you get a young, hip feel from the interior decorating but also a vintage feel because the building is historic. This establishment is tucked away making it extremely private and quiet - all things every person should have when going to the salon. Perfect balance in my opinion! The service is the absolute best! Most of the stylists have been doing hair their whole lives and never fail to deliver exactly what you want. They also use top products to ensure the best results. I never do this whole yelp thing, but I have always told myself I would write about a special place when I found one. So here goes! Whisper to a Scream was great experience with great service. My friend has been coming to Whisper 2 A Scream for years and I decided to go with her (I'm from LA) because my hair was in dire need of a trim. I was not only impressed with the professionalism there but also by everyone's kindness and positive energy. The place has a funky/fun feel that I thought was unique enough to write about--mostly because most places in LA try too hard for this kind of vibe while over charging for simple hair cuts. But this place was the perfect balance, not to mention I got a better haircut than any place I have emptied my pockets for around here. I also had been told about Lila, and asked my stylist if she could fit me in for a lip threading. Even without an appointment she fit me in and did a wonderful job. Go see Kim! She always gives me the style I want, even when I don't know what I want. She is creative and is a master at interpreting your personal style and matching your hair to that style. She takes the time to get to know you and it makes getting your hair styled a fun and comfortable experience. No matter what style she has done for me I have loved it. She is especially good at giving the perfect highlights and layers for the long hair do. The best thing is she has never cut my hair shorter than I wanted, which was always a problem with other stylists for me. The salon is great too, its has a supper funky and modern feel with great customer service! p.s. A word of caution, try not to fall asleep while she is washing your hair and giving you head massage...it's sooo easy to do! read more

I have been a client of Whisper 2A Scream/Sharon for around 30 years now. I have never felt the need to try another salon as I have always been extremely happy with the outcome of my hair. There is no way that I would continue to go to a salon or have the same hairdresser/Sharon for this many years if I wasn't satisfied. Sharon is excellent, an expert in all areas of hair care, and knows what she is doing. She listens to you and will work with you to give you the best hair care that is right for you. I do know of a number of clients that have continued to go to Sharon for many years, in fact, some travel quite a distance. I recently had one of those "do it yourself" at home hair color fiascos, and my hairdresser Debbie stayed for a late evening appointment to fix my mistake! She was not about to let her client walk around with bad hair! Kim has the best style ideas for anybody's look and personality. I always went in and said do whatever you want, if I couldn't make up my mind for cut or color, and I was never disappointed. Honest Review of My Experience With Diana Salcido (Color Appointment + Communication + Deposit…read morePolicy) I'm really disappointed with my experience with Diana, and I feel it's important to share so others know what to expect. I originally came to her for color and highlights. The first appointment was over $500, and while the dimension looked nice when I left, the color faded extremely quickly within just a few washes. I reached out politely to let her know, and she offered to gloss it , which I understood as simply refreshing the tone. Instead, my entire head was turned into a single dark chocolate color. All of my highlights were completely covered, my hair became several shades darker than what I originally paid for, and the dimension I loved was gone. None of this was discussed with me during the service. She didn't even fully dry my hair before I left, so I couldn't see the true result until I got home. My hair was already dry from the first appointment, and this additional processing made things worse. When I reached out to express confusion and concern, she did not take responsibility or apologize. Her responses were dismissive, and at one point she simply replied "Ok," which made it clear she didn't care about the impact the service had on my hair or how I felt as a client. It was deeply unprofessional and left me feeling unheard. Throughout all of this, I remained kind, calm, and respectful. I work in the beauty industry myself, and I believe strongly in treating clients the way I would want to be treated , with care, honesty, and accountability. When a mistake is made, it's our job to take responsibility and make it right, unless a client is being truly abusive. That wasn't the case here at all, which is why her coldness and lack of remorse were so confusing and disappointing. Weeks later, my hair is still not the same color or look I originally paid for. I had a future appointment booked, which I canceled with plenty of notice, and politely asked for my deposit back. Only then did she inform me that deposits are nonrefundable , something that was never communicated at booking. She insisted the policy had been stated, but it absolutely was not. Keeping a client's money when they cancel days in advance, especially after a service that went wrong, is not ethically or professionally acceptable. Overall, my experience with Diana showed: Lack of communication during the service No accountability when the result was not what I asked for Dismissive responses when I expressed concern No empathy or care for the health of my hair Uncommunicated policy used to keep a deposit after poor service A cold, unprofessional attitude toward a client who was nothing but kind I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was stressful, expensive, and handled with very little professionalism or integrity. I would not return and cannot recommend her based on how she treated me throughout this entire situation.

However, my second appointment was canceled by Ambrosia and, despite being told it would be rescheduled, I was never contacted to rebook. This has left me in a difficult position -- I now have to find another stylist willing to continue the process and correct or match the work already started. Beginning such a major color transition requires planning and trust, and being left mid-process without follow-up is both unprofessional and disappointing.
