The venue was gorgeous. I planned for a ceremony at the time of sunset. Arrangements were made way in advance. We had a small party of 7 and still had issues. Beautiful location and beautiful home. My fiancé and I loved this place for our small ceremony. But Sheila's communication is crap. First she takes a while to respond or forgets to respond which I'm seeing is a trend in some of these reviews. She scheduled us to go see the place and wasn't even there. Her husband showed us around though and he was nice. When Sheila came she told us we could head over to the reception location about 5-10 min away to check it out and she promised she would be available on FaceTime to walk us through the place. We get to the reception location and I tried calling and FaceTiming her probably 10 times and her phone sounded off. Ghosted! Total waste of time. Weird and unprofessional. read more

We been looking for wedding venues and to be honest the response times could have been better. Some days they responded quick and then there would be a gap of 2 days with no response. That's something they can work on. Another thing was we were clear in the number of people that we think will come to our wedding but we wasted time touring the Whispering Oaks location because the communication was not great. Now don't get me wrong the location they have is beautiful but that location can only fit 50 people or so for Ceremony. They have another location that can hold up too 200 people or so but it's a different location. Please make sure to clarify you want to see the other location that can host more people that way you don't go to the smaller location in Agoura Hills. read more

I got married last Thursday (12/17/2020) and it was everything I wanted thanks to Sheila at Whispering Oaks Chapel. My [now] husband and I wanted to elope but also wanted something more intimate and special than a trip to the court house. After a quick conversation with Sheila and some online paperwork (scanning and filling stuff out then emailing back), we were set! This really is a one-stop shop that does not compromise quality for price. I could not have asked for a more beautiful location or perfect experience; and we were able to get video of the ceremony and a lot of pictures to share with family and friends. I HIGHLY recommend this venue if you're looking for above and beyond customer service and a beautiful, intimate venue for your wedding. I don't write reviews normally. We just had our wedding at Whispering Oaks Chapel. It was a small wedding, only 6 of us. It was beyond our wishes for a beautiful garden and warm loving ceremony. Sheila was wonderful throughout the planning, the ceremony and helping us find a location for us to have a separate table for our reception. James sent us a ceremony and customized it for our religious beliefs and traditions. Sheila took about 70 pictures and videoed the ceremony - then air dropped it to us for no added charge. We couldn't be happier. I did read a long review by someone named Tina. I can only say that our time and our service and support was much different than their review. I can also tell everyone I am a lady of color born in a different country. We can't recommend Sheila and Whispering Oaks Chapel more. We gladly give them 5 stars read more

I can say that Sheila is the most wonderful person, she helped us created the most wonderful day that my husband and I could ask for. She made the day magical and wonderful. I can't thank her enough. I'm so disappointed. My fiancé and I took the time to travel all the way out to Auguora, Hills from the South Bay and I feel like our time was totally wasted. We toured the ceremony area which was very nice. We met with Sheila and her husband who seemed to be nice. We were really set on having our wedding at their site. Sheila promised she would text me all the additional fees that we would have to pay in addition to the ceremony fee the next day. I never received the text. So, I reached out to her and she said she would email it to me that day. She never did. So, I followed up with her the following day again and she had her assistant Irene send me an email, but it was just the automated generic email they send when you first inquire about their venue. It did not include any of the info we spoke about me receiving, which were the extra fees we would have to pay and fees for add-ons we might be interested in (I.e. shuttle service fee, insurance, flower arch etc). So I let Sheila and her assistant know of the information we were missing and her assistant sent over the info the next day. It was not a formal email and again the info was incomplete. She listed the reception venue options as "#1 and #2" as they do on their website but she never provided the names of the venues so we could look them up nor did she include specifically what was included in the venue packages. I called Sheila over the weekend and she was able to answer some questions I had about the ceremony, but when I asked about the reception venue options she said she would have to speak to me when she had more time during the week. So we scheduled to talk Tuesday at 3pm. I called her at 3pm and she did not answer, so I called a second time and she answered and told me she was in a meeting and would call me back in an hour. I was very confused because we planned days in advance to speak at this time on that specific date. I even left work early to be available to speak with her. She also never called me back. We were very willing to pay for the location/venue along with her services, but the lack of professionalism and poor communication is honestly a red flag , and I do not trust them to help with my wedding. It's honestly disheartening to know that there are people out there who function at such a low level of professionalism when dealing with such an important moment in someone's life. I just feel like we honestly wasted time dealing with them. Leaving this review in hopes that it will help the next couple. read more

Whispering Oaks was a perfect getaway for our private ceremony. We have some celebrity family members and Sheila and Sandy kept everything so private and were very discreet. They did everything we asked and went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable and welcomed. Sheila was a great wedding planner and helped me feel so calm and heard throughout the whole process. Sandy went out of his way to incorporate our religious beliefs into the ceremony, we all felt like we had known him for a lifetime. Disappointing. I reached out to them via their website, no response. Two days later, I reached out to them via their email, no response. Five days later, I reached out through Yelp, I got a generic message to call them. I called. The woman on the phone wasn't very helpful. I asked for information on elopement packages. I asked simple questions and it seemed like she was dissuading me from using their services. She said she'd email me more info right away after I texted her my email address and fiancé's info. A day later, and I haven't received anything. They don't commit to elopements on weekends to keep their availability open for bigger weddings. I understand the business model, but nowhere on their site does it say that. Knowing that would've helped, but we were still willing to accommodate. We were willing to change our date because we liked how easy and low maintenance it seemed to get everything done through them (licensing + ceremony). Their website makes it seem like they're really willing to work with you, but I discovered that isn't the case. It really seems like they don't want the business. This venue appeared nice, but doesn't seem worth the hassle. We've moved on, and found another business that offers the same thing. read more

I will forever rave about Whispering Oaks Chapel. My now husband and I decided to get married in less than a week. I found the chapel and got a reply very quickly. Sheila was the most helpful person ever. She gave me advice on vendors for everything I needed, from the guest shuttle, to ideas for where to host our reception. Sandy, her husband, is an ordained minister and the notary on site. He is extremely friendly. We had my brother officiate our wedding but I know Sandy would have also performed a beautiful ceremony if we had chosen him. The venue itself is honestly the most beautiful venue I have ever seen. You can tell that they put so much love and effort into their home and they love sharing it with others. The weather was perfect and the lighting was unbelievable. Finding this venue really made my planning experience so much easier. My favorite moment with Shelia was right before I walked down the aisle. She reminded me to take a deep breath and it helped so much.
