I have boarded my dogs there and they take great care of the dogs. They told me they have cooked chicken for dogs that won't eat. They really watch them. They get a big kennel with access to outdoor run. They have an area where they can play. Highly recommend! read more

Stay away from this place with your pet. I looked online at the facilities website for prices which were posted online. I called to make a reservation and was told it would be the same price as was posted on the website. I booked the reservation. Upon drop off they demand recording all of your credit card information on an insecure piece of paper that is left out for anyone. I explained that I would be paying any cash and they still required me to leave my credit card information. This was not even stored securely on a private server, but on a piece of paper. I had strong concerns about this due to all the fraud and identity theft. Picking up my pet I was then charged more than what I was quoted. They said that the price had increased and had not updated their website in six months. I spoke with the rude owner who hung up on me numerous times and would not refund the overcharge. Also, when you drop off your pet, they require you to leave your kennel. It's like what are they doing? Keeping your pet in the kennel the entire time you're gone they also don't show you the facilities where your pet will be staying. Avoid at all cost. read more

Our pups (though at 77 and 92 lbs I probably shouldn't call them "pups" anymore) thoroughly enjoy going up to Whispering Pines. My husbands' family has lived in the area for...well, most of his life and even took the family dog there in the 80's. The great service hasn't changed. Prices are reasonable, and while they don't have an in-ground pool like my lab would prefer, they do keep large kitty pools in the play areas on hot days. REALLY hot days...the dogs play inside. Leaving for a week or two? They have on-site trainers that can teach your pooch a new trick or two while you're gone! :) Doggie-day care? Drop 'em off for age and size sorted play group in the morning...and pick up a very tired dog in the afternoon/evening (seriously: my hyper active lab? Got in the car, "hurumphed" and laid down, fell asleep...and didn't wake up til our german shepard was already out of the car and inside the house on the "best" of the doggie bed's (the one they seem to...race too? lol)) Special instructions? No problem. Just let them know! They can even clean up your dog/do some grooming before you pick them up...which is handy. Leaving your friend behind to go to a special event? Let them know: we got a few extras thrown in free when we took the pups there for our honeymoon! :) read more

I have used Whispering Pines Pet Resort for our dog for years. They love Micah but even better, he loves them! I make his food and they are very good about following instructions. I often schedule a bath at the end of his stay so he comes home fresh and clean. The staff is consistent (not a lot of turnover) and very good! I feel like they really know us and that feels good! Horrible Grooming! The first time Marilyn cut Buffy's hair she did a good enough job to get me back again. The second cut wasn't as good but they were having a really busy day so I decided I would take Buffy back for a third time. BIG MISTAKE! If you come back enough times they don't give a damn what you think. I waited around to give specific instructions and then the groomer completely ignored me and did everything I asked her not to do. Even though I specifically asked her not to cut her ears shorter she did and cut one ear an inch shorter than the other. Fortunately I didn't have to pay for this cut but now my dog looks really bad for a month! read more

The place has gone down hill a lot for cats, they advertise on their website a spacious 3 story condo but in most cases they half these with a board and your cat ends up with a tiny cage, they never seem to have the correct price when we check out the cat and then even if the staff tell you they will get the owner to give you a call the owner never does, no formal paperwork and no receipts even when you ask, this place used to be amazing and the best but i doubt we will ever return now, read more

I'm fairly naive when it comes to this whole pet boarding thing but when I walked into this place with my dog, it gave me more of a pet asylum feel than that of a pet resort. When I turned to glance at my very social Westie, the look in her eyes confirmed that she felt the same way. Lots of kennels - around 60 total - so lots of doggies. I only ended up leaving her for a few hours to try out the place, and when I picked her up she was a bit out of sorts. The people were really nice, and maybe it's a good place for larger dogs. I have been bringing Winslow to Whispering pines to have his nails trimmed as well as grooming for nine years. Each time we arrive he happily walks through the door. This is a little cairn terrier who doesn't like a lot of people but he never gives Marilyn a hard time. I have seen many of the same faces over the years which has allowed them to get to know Winslow's quirks and allow me to feel good about taking him there. read more

I brought my cat here to be groomed and boarded for a weekend. When my husband picked her up, she didn't looked like a brush had even touched her! Worst grooming I have ever seen, no grooming actually. If I had picked her up, I would have said something right then. I called and they offered to groom my cat again. I asked for a refund, which I was given immediately. That was handled well, but this has been a huge inconvenience. Won't be using them for grooming again. read more

I use Whispering Pines as my doggie day care. My dogs love going there!!! My dogs tails wag from the moment we drive on to the lovely property, while staff walk them back to the dog area, to the time I pick them up. It's such a relief to be at work knowing your dogs are safe, being cared for and having a good time. This place has done wonders for my dogs. In the past my dogs were anxious and apprehensive around other dogs. Since attending Whispering Pines it feels like my dogs have learned it's no big deal to be around their own species and realized they can have fun with other dogs. My friends have even commented on improved behavior in my dogs. The only variable in my dogs lives have been attending Whispering Pines. The staff is professional, down-to-earth and on the ball. The location of Whispering Pines is serene. It's out in the country, away from lots of traffic and industrial noises. The neighboring properties have horses and cows roaming the land. A relaxing drive to and from day care is an added bonus. read more

My dogs love going to daycare at Whispering Pines. Two miles before we get to the daycare property the dogs realize where they are going, get excited, antsy and begin their 'happy singing'. The dogs play in small groups according to their size and temperament. I can honestly say, the daycare has greatly helped my dogs socially. Before going to daycare my dogs would bark and lunge at other dogs. If we were at a dog park they would be overwhelmed and start shaking and want to leave ASAP. After going to daycare my dogs are more relaxed around dogs, they no longer don't bark and lunge when they see other dogs. Being around and playing with other dogs at daycare has taught them that they don't need to be aggressive with their own species; they can play and have a good time. When I pick up the dogs from daycare they are happy, exhausted, and fall asleep early that night. read more

These folks are solid. I've been taking my dogs there for about 8 years now, with always good experiences. My dogs have always been happy to arrive at the kennel, and happy when I come back to pick them up. The people are reliable and organized. Reservations don't get lost. Messages get communicated. Medication, feeding and exercise happens according to instructions. They helped me out of a jam when I got stuck without an early reservation around a major holiday, and it seems that they make a habit of treating their regular customers well. And that's not just an accident. It seems to be a really well run place, with good people. It's a fairly long drive for me to get there from my house. So after my last dog passed away, time passed, and eventually I ended up with a new pup, I had to think for a while about whether I should try some place new. In the end, I've still been going back, and happy about the decision. Where they really showed their worth was when my old dog was slowing down and having age-related problems. They were on the phone with me to straighten out medications, letting me know how he was doing, working with me to make sure they had enough staff on duty to be able to take care of him if something were to happen over night, and grieving with me over the sad but inevitable. I'm grateful to them like family. A previous reviewer mentioned "it gave me more of a pet asylum feel than that of a pet resort." I agree that it's not a resort. I just dismiss that term as obligatory marketing. It's a kennel, a kennel is exactly what I want, and in my experience this is an excellent one. (They do have a service where they'll give him a bath on the last day of his stay, timing it so he's dry but clean and fluffy when I pick him up. It's awesome!) read more

We have been bringing our yellow lab to Whispering Pines every year at Spring Break for the last 10 years and he absolutely loves it there. He gets excited the minute we drive into the parking lot and he pulls us all the way to the door. We never sign him up for play time (to interact with other dogs) so I can only assume that he can sense how much the people there care about him. It's nice to be able to go on vacation and know that our dog is in good hands. It's also nice that their rates are very reasonable. We love Whispering Pines. read more

My vet recommended Whispering Pines. He said it was the best run kennel in the area and he was right. I have been taking my Lab, Jackson, here for boarding/day care for four years. He loves going to the kennel, which makes me feel less guilty about taking a vacation without him. This place is great! I have to STRONGLY disagree with the review from the Westie owner. I think your dog is just a spoiled brat! Any size dog does well at Whispering Pines, there is no discrimination against little dogs. I have used this facility several times and they are wonderful, overly wonderful!
