(We refused that offer because they said we had to buy more points, Sea Watch said that was not correct.) After 90 minutes of BS we got up to leave as we had a tee time to get to. They offered to take up the conversation when we got home. So, I set it up with Jake provided he'd send me three specific pieces of info. He agreed. The day came and he neither sent the info nor called. He contacted me a week later and apologized so I foolishly gave him two more dates to call. He said he'd confirm the day. Those two days came and went. No confirmation, no counteroffer, no info, no call, no text. If you are asked to sit down for anything, refuse. Refuse as many times as it takes, and it will take quite a few. Trust quotient is Zero.

After you see behind the nice location and listed things to do, you will find out there are seriously lacking things to bring this a 4 or 5 star rating. We have never been anywhere on vacation that the staff even compared to THEM. One last thing.... Things started off rough with a booking issue with our room, but Jolly, who worked the front desk got Scott, The Manager involved and things were fixed so fast that I had no idea what had happened while I was helping unload the car (My wife filled me in later). And that takes me to one of my favorite people on the planet: Sam, the Valet. He ALWAYS remembers me and my wife by name and greets us when we drive up to the front door. Incredible. He even remembered that we didn't come last year. All of this as he greets us at the car. He is a true "People Person" and a consummate gentleman. His presence has truly been an asset to The Resort. Everyone knows and loves Sam. We love Marina Inn at Grand Dunes and will always return here whenever possible. Please check the place out if you're in the area.

Rented a great Airbnb in North Myrtle Beach, SC with the family. The Maisons Sur Mer condominium…read moreon the 15th floor had 3 balconies all with an ocean view, and a private beach. It had two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The accommodations were very nice, and we rented a golf cart (located across the street). Unfortunately, we couldn't park it in the condo parking lot, but the cart rental company let us park it in their back lot. Fair price too, about $250 for a 4 day rental. Plus we could drive pretty much everywhere except the highways. Anyway, back to the accommodations. This was an older condo complex built back in the 1970's, but had undergone a major renovation on the inside. It also had a nice sized outdoor pool, and had a private beach with soft fine sand. The beach was immaculate, with no seaweed, and gentle waves. Great for swimming, but not so great for sea shelling. There were two restaurants located inside, but they were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Both had a dress code that required a collared shirt, and no hats. They had a pretty extensive set of rules as well, including a 10 pm noise curfew (we were probably the youngest people in the complex). Also, no rolling luggage carts allowed in the lobby. Personal rolling suitcases were fine though. The large luggage carts were located in the basement, and could only be used in the elevators and upper condo floors. One thing that bothered me though was the men's restroom located in the lobby. It was very clean, but it didn't have any soap. No dispenser or bar soap of any kind. Strange and unsanitary. All in all this was a great vacation getaway, and we still have two more days here! The rental for the unit was through Big Fish Rentals. Their rental policy was pretty in-depth, but they responded quickly to any questions or concerns I had. I'd stay here again. I'd write more, but I'm off to the beach!

My wife and I have been resident-owners for the past 1.5 years. Here's what you need to know first…read moreabout living in the Maison sur-Mer building. 1. It's a constant noisy daily construction zone. Everyday there's drilling or hammering that echos throughout the building. It's very annoying so if you're looking for daily peace and quiet this is not your place. 2. It's an old building that just celebrated it's 50th anniversary. Water pipes are constantly breaking or leaking, there's a lack of electrical outlets, the building design acts as a wind tunnel so there's always a 20-30 knot wind that blows constantly. 3. The building is made of concrete and steel so there's always concrete dust that covers everything in your unit and the underground garage. If you enjoy a clean living space or want your car to to remain dust free don't come here. 4. Most permanent residents are older, retired and not very friendly. If you want to make friends here buy a dog, you'll be happier. Speaking of dogs, the HOA has very strict animal ownership rules so check them before you purchase here. You may not be able to bring your pet. 5. It's expensive to liver here. Expect to pay approximately $2,000/month in HOA and separate building insurance fees. If you're on a tight budget living here is not a good choice because these fees increase yearly. I've posted quite a few major negative things why living/purchasing a unit in the Maison sur-Mer is not a good choice and I can't recommend it. I could have posted a lot more. But there's also a plus side the living here too. 1. The building staff and security personnel are very friendly and helpful. 2. The HOA is very active and trying to improve the living conditions. 3. The building location is very close to major medical, good restaurants, shopping, entertainment, major roadways, and the ocean. You're within approximately 2-3 miles of everything you may need on a daily basis. 4. Because of it's proximity to a lot of activities you don't need to travel into Myrtle Beach which is not a good idea during the summer and biker weeks.

They make you take out your own trash and strip your beds prior to departure. Property is dated, entry doors on outside (safety concern) an actual key is needed and the locks are so ancient and rusted, it takes too much time to enter. TVs are tiny and the cable selection is extremely limited. There are no HDMI ports to plug in. Finally, the last night I was there, I was asleep in bed and a picture fell on my head! Not injured, it was a stretched canvas, but pretty traumatic to wake up to. I called the night staff number to let them know what happened as no one was on property at that time and we were leaving early before they arrived. Still no recognition or apology. Location is great, but this place is Motel 6 quality! Doesn't deserve one star!

The owner is a retired teacher from the Mid-West, takes care of his property. It's only 5 blocks from Main Street and all the Shag Clubs. Many "insiders" know of it, so do call ahead if it's a big weekend for those aging dancer types. I like it that it's inexpensive, clean and has off-street parking next to the rooms. There are rooms with kitchenettes, but I just get the ones with the 'fridge and coffee pot. They'll loan you an iron if you need it. The heat is from a wall mounted a/c unit that does cooling and heating. The bathrooms are clean if a little dated. NBD The property is across the street from ocean-front, so beach access is convenient. This is not a place for a romantic get-away, but the price is very easy on the wallet. There just aren't many small motels left along the Grand Strand. There's mostly high-rise hotels with spiffy pools and spiffier prices. Take your pick, cheap and clean--pricey and smelly. I pick clean every time.

Our condo was the largest size featuring 4 bedrooms and was budget friendly for a whole week's stay. The condos are very comfortable and have all the necessary amenities plus typical beach-themed decor. Most importantly of all, our view of the Atlantic Ocean from the 11th floor was absolutely stunning. In fact, all of the condos are beachfront, so you are certain to have a great view. Other great features are the indoor and outdoor pools as well as the lazy river. The only real issue we had was our code to the pool didn't work when we got there, so the realtor had to provide the correct one the following morning. The other slight issue was the the mattresses weren't the most comfortable, but nothing too bad that you couldn't get some good sleep. All in all, I would definitely stay at South Shore Villas again the next time I visit the Carolina shores.
