They even used new pens and then put my pen in a used pile. I'm hoping they clean or wipe them down later. They gave me two keys and the Wi-Fi code which was easy enough to type in. The room was on the second floor with a balcony facing the ocean. They had a microwave, coffee maker, fridge. They also had an iron and ironing board which I needed for once since I had to meet a client. Later on, I stuck my hand in the pool and noticed it was warm. They said it's a heated pool. They also had an indoor pool and hot tub. I had to buy swim trunks because I never use the pool or ocean. I used the indoor pool at 10:30. There were a few kids but they were just having fun and it didn't take away from my enjoyment. They also have a morning breakfast. They had hard boiled eggs, waffle maker, cereal, frozen sausage sandwich things, cereal bars, yogurt, apples and bananas, jelly, English muffins, bagels, bread. Basically, there's something for people who don't eat eggs or milk or have food allergies. There is also a decent bar close by and a wine bar also that is within walking distance. The parking was a bit crowded when I got home Friday night, but I found a spot. I don't see myself ever being in the area again, but I would stay here. Not cheap, but I think one gets their money worth.

Room needs industrial cleaning to get rid of fowl musty, moldy and mothball smell!!!…read more This place is not as nice as we expected. On Sunday the customer service at the lobby desk were just plain rude. I went to ask for air freshener for the room and they refused to give me any and said that they had to do it themselves and would be right up although she never got up off of her seat and never ever ever came to the room, we had to open the door to the balcony just to try and get some fresh air flowing to aid. We did notice housekeeping using a Wet BROOM to clean another unit. No mop anywhere to be seen. Maybe the smell was coming from improperly cleaned floors. Security was a little bit of concern as many exterior lights were out. Scariest place was outside of elevator downstairs. Also the fact that the elevator kept closing on us as we tried to get inside. Elevator acted up the entire time. We loved having the pool open and also the indoor jacuzzi and pool. Fix your own breakfast was provided. Access to beach was perfect. Sadly, this is not a place I would recommend overall due to poor customer service (don't even get me going on how you have to throw out your trash and used towels outside your door. You will receive however many towels they want to give you. Forget replacing garbage bags, coffee, etc.) noisy room (next-door to upstairs water pump that ran like a loud vacuum continuously,) and safety issues (open electrical live wires by pool.) The guests were all nice and mostly understanding of things they disliked about the property. (We didn't discuss it, we just heard conversations every day at breakfast about all of them complaining of issues I described as well as stale food or lack of things like butter.) I would most definitely go back if things were updated and some of the negative people at front desk and housekeeping changed their negative behavior.

You can hear EVERYTHING in the room next door especially when people were having obnoxiously loud sex (every night). No carpeting in the rooms which only exacerbates the loud rooms. Def not staying here again...ever.

If I could have given this place a -10 STARS I would have! I can not say enough terrible things…read moreabout this place and implore you to do your research, even if that is just looking at the pictures that I will post with this review. Let me start by saying we only tried this place because some nice people on the beach recommended it, I will say its location at Sunset Beach can not be beat! However unless you plan to sleep on one of the lawn chairs at the pool (which we debated) I highly recommend you skip it! We stayed in Room 113 and arrived around 10:15pm. My phone had died on the way in so the first task after opening the room was finding an outlet so that I could charge my phone. Maybe not the best choice... I couldn't get any light to turn on because apparently they weren't plugged it, the hairballs I encountered were larger than my fat cats that I left at home, and the shear amount of dirt and toilet paper was enough to turn your stomach. I did finally find an outlet beside the very dirt toaster oven. There was a microwave but I wasn't brave enough to look inside. The second thing I had to do was find the restroom... another unfortunate need. The shower curtain was COMPLETELY black with mold and there was hair in the shower. (GROSS!) Last but definitely not least when my husband turned down the bed the king size bed had been left with a Queen fitted sheet and flat sheet. Yep folks, just when you think it couldn't get any worse we tried to adjust the fitted sheet only to find the most apprehensive, disgusting, and unsanitary mattress pad that was crusted with yellow stains of God knows what! Lord help us if we had had anywhere else to stay we would have left immediately. Needless to say out of desperation my husband and I huddled on one side of the bed (the "cleanest" side) clinging to one another and shared the one pillow I had brought from home. Did I mention we sprayed the entire bed with Lysol before we laid down. We neither one slept a wink and arose early just to get the heck out of that cootie infested room. We spent all day on the beach and around 4pm decided to go back, carefully not touch anything and rinse off (don't worry we wore flip flops and used our own towels) and GO HOME. Leaving our last night unused but thankful to go home to our clean beds and house. I did send an email to Sloane Vacation Rentals who manages the property and they did call and say that someone from management would follow up. No one from management has followed up. Unless you want some type of cootie or std I would highly suggest NOT staying here and wasting your money. It was soooooo gross! **Also wanted to add that there was an unknown blood or fecal substance on the light switch in the bathroom. Don't worry it is pictured below.

They've put so much time and money and hard work into this facility and golf courses especially BYRD. The Byrd course is in spectacular condition and only going to get better. To make things even better ,they have a fantastic beverage card attendant by the name of Betsy. You're not gonna find anyone better in the business ,than this young lady. We saw her frequently on the golf course and she was friendly and attentive. She even took time to do a picture with us to tease a friend lol. After our round, we stopped inside to the main bar area in the sports bar section. We met with our bartender Logan, who was extremely friendly and extremely knowledgeable about golf in the area ,as well as Bourbon's and the like . To say that this place is now a must hit venue would be an understatement. This will now be the legends of the north. The facilities for stay and play packages are going to be outstanding. And the restaurants and bars are beyond top-notch. If you're looking for somewhere to stay on a golf package look no further.
