One of our friends' steaks was noticeably smaller the size indicated on the menu. And as someone who loves cod, it always breaks my heart to see such a delicate fish overcooked which was the unfortunate case for us. We did enjoy the freshly made beignets for dessert, which were a definite highlight. Our table wasn't wiped down between courses, leaving an errant piece of fish on the table while we ate dessert which was just not appetizing. The tables themselves also appeared to have seen better days; a little refurbishing and some tightening of screws would go a long way.

The food was 5 stars, but the reason for the 4 star review is due to the large amount of flies in the restaurant. They were all over the ceiling and flying around the restaurant and cooking area. Usually I would walk out of a restaurant if I saw flies like that, but we drove 25 minutes and the rest of my party was really wanting to stay. So I sucked it up and ordered our food. Employees were very nice and working quickly to prepare the insane amount of orders being placed both inside and the drive-thru. One thing that stood out is that the prices were shockingly low. We got two single cheeseburgers, a double cheeseburger, an order of animal fries (fries with American cheese, caramelized onions, and their special sauce on top), a small soda, a large soda, and a milkshake for $28. While the sauce for the burgers was good, I was disappointed that they don't have mayo at all. I've never been to a burger place that doesn't have mayo, even in packets. We waited about 5-7 minutes for our food to be ready and decided to eat outside to avoid being pestered by flies. Ironically, we didn't see any flies outside. They must've all went inside. I will say, the burgers are very good. The patties are thin and are done just right. They had a good taste and a single was more than enough for me. I snagged a few of the animal fries and they were interesting. I wouldn't order them myself but I would share them again if the opportunity presented itself. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the meal. I would go back but they'd have to address the issue with the flies or I don't think I'd eat there again.

You can cook better tasting and thicker burgers on your home grill or indoor fry pan. You can also make fries from frozen bags that taste better without tasting like burnt fry oil.
