This little spot on 2nd Ave N is an iconic Nashville spot. They also have a location over in midtown. The spot is in an old building in the middle of the entertainment district (Lower Broad area). It has a small outside seating area, for when it is not a sauna, Inside there is a nice sized bar, if you are just seeking a drink. They are known for their mac & cheese, which I have never tried in all of the times I have been to the Stillery. Very creamy, cheesy mac & cheese. The Nashville hot chicken has a nice spice to it. A bit mild for the serious hot chicken fans, but the flavor is there. The chicken tenders are fairly standard. And the crinkle fries are mid. I enjoyed both of the drinks. At $14.50, they are at least $1.50 less than the standard Broadway cocktails in the star bars, so iti s a less expensive option to get a drink. I don't think they ever have live music, unlike some others here, so you are going for the food, not the noise. Service was great, as always. The staff is always prompt and knows their menu. It is more bar food and the menu is limited, but what they do, they do well.

After about 15 trips to Nashville, my wife and I have developed a routine. Get to town. Drop off the bags. Head to The Stillery. It's usually our first dinner stop every single trip. This time, we switched things up and hit it for lunch instead. Good call. We grabbed seats at the bar, where Todd was holding down the fort. The guy was outstanding. Drinks never sat empty, food came out smoothly, and he somehow managed to be attentive without hovering over us every five minutes asking if everything was okay. My wife started with the Nashville Margue, which goes down way too easy for something packing moonshine. Light, refreshing, and carrying enough kick to remind you you're in Tennessee. Then Todd introduced us to a Bloody Mary made with a new pickle-infused vodka. Now, that sounds like one of those ideas that should either be amazing or a complete disaster. Turns out it's amazing. My wife loved it so much she's already talking about coming back tomorrow for another one. For food, we started with the pretzels and beer cheese. Simple. Warm. Soft. Salty. Exactly what you want while settling into a Nashville afternoon. Nothing fancy, just done right. Then I went all in on the mac and cheese topped with Nashville hot chicken. Yee Haw. Creamy mac and cheese. Crispy chicken. That signature Nashville heat. Comfort food with a little attitude. Just the way it should be. The best thing about The Stillery is that it knows exactly what it is. Good food. Good drinks. Good people. No gimmicks. No trying too hard. Just a fun place to sit down, relax, and enjoy yourself. Fifteen trips to Nashville (together) and it's still one of our first stops. That's probably the strongest review I can give. Five stars.

We had the best server ever! Todd was very friendly and informed of us of our different options of hot sauce (you definitely need that information depending on your tongue)! The place was very chill and laid back! The food was a smash, super filling and very good! I would definitely recommend it

We had reservations for a large group but when we got there, there wasn't a table ready and we had to wait about 20 minutes. That was disappointing and not the best first impression. After being seated it took a while for a server to even come around, so also not the best sign. Luckily, once we did get a couple of servers, they were super wonderful and did an excellent job moving forward!! I ordered a burger on a gluten free bun (which made me so happy that they had one!!) and the burger was absolutely delicious!! The side salad with white vinaigrette was also sooo yummy! I ended up eating everything and was extremely pleased by the end of it all! We were seated upstairs and there was a gentleman playing live music, which was so lovely to have while eating dinner! I would definitely come back again for the food and ambiance! My only note would be to ensure a table is ready when someone places a reservation well in advance.

A hidden gem tucked away off Broadway across from Category 10. Great small atmosphere. there may be a 10 or 15 minute wait but the service is great with a fast turn around. The food is always Great with many options. Cody our waiter was very personable having good fun with us. He offered up other options such as substitutions on sides. Our drinks never went below half. Thank You Cody.

We were able to get in quickly without a reservation which was nice. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant itself was a little small, but was not bad. Food was overall good.

We unfortunately got here late about 50mins before closing so our visit felt rushed. Our server was kind & quick though. My dad ordered a Long Island and it was soooo gross, the lime juice was bottled and tasted so bad so he ordered beer instead. The rest of the food was decent, i did love the Caesar salad a lil more than everything else. Food a lil pricey but hey, you're right in the heart of Nashville so i guess it's fair. 6/10 overall on the food Ps: the bathroom stank sooo bad like cat piss :/

In town for CMA Fest , every restaurant is Bumping! Stopped in The Stillery and were seated quickly. Server was great, only wished I remembered his name. We ordered the Meatza pizza and macaroni and cheese. So good! In fact, it was so good we came back the. Ext day and ordered the exact same thing. That crust! Delicious. We will definitely be back

Great vibe ! Food is their focus - no live music but everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing ! Wish I would've ordered those deviled eggs ! We were happy with our chicken sandwich and side of mac! Glad we ordered the spicy sauce on the side ! We are wimps ! The bartender was a sweetheart but I did witness her grab a wine goblet with a smudge of lipstick on it & she wiped it off with her sleeve - oh my ! She proceeded to make a drink ..... I wanted to say something but I didn't ! This is just such bad practice !

Had a really good time here at The Stillery. We ended up eating on the first floor where there was no live music since the line was shorter. There were plenty of tables and a bar section as well. The food came out pretty quickly despite it being around prime dinner time. The mac and cheese was fantastic and very rich. It had charred spots that gave certain bites a satisfying crunch, which blended nicely with the rest of the bowl. The pesto tomato pizza was much bigger than I expected. The crust was nicely done with just the right amount of char on the bottom. The pesto and tomato combination was fantastic.

Easy spot near Broadway to grab a bite. The staff (including our waiter) all seemed to be having fun working there and were very nice. The food was as advertised. We chose downstairs seating to get a break from music but I think they have a band upstairs if you want that.

While in the area we found this place. We were a party of 6. Got in early so no issue getting seated. Whyat was our server and he was great on taking care of us. We started with apps and drinks. We all had something different to eat and everyone enjoyed their meal. As the night went on the place filled up, so that tells you this is a good place. Its just off Broadway so easy to get to. Lots of options for everyone to choose from.

Yum! Stopped in here for dinner on a Wednesday night. The service was great, the food & drinks were delicious. I have been many places around Broadway to grab food and this one was my favorite. We had the pretzel bites for an appetizer and the Mac and cheese with bbq chicken. This was some of the best Mac and cheese I've ever had. Next time I'm in town I will be stopping in again.

Was "the stillery" just a misspell of distillery?

I'm not sure of that, but they have stills, so it's definitely a play on Distillery. Either way, it was awesome. I would highly recommend it. Everyone was nice and friendly, and the food was great and affordable

    What are the hours?

They close at 10:00 on the dot!

Is there an option to not have hot chicken with the chicken dishes?

Yes, get them NAKED with sauce on the side. Then you can dip a toe in the water and not jump in over your head.

Can you eat at the bar if you can't get a reservation?

I just visited today without a reservation and was able to get a table right away.

    Are their gluten free options?

The menu is located online. I would assume yes because it's very popular but you should call to verify

    Are there any Vegan entrees?

Yes, but not entirely healthy. Still delicious though

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes through Open Table

Do they have a happy hour?

How do they make the Hot Fried chicken on the mac and cheese? Was the chicken a cutlet or boneless breast?

    Boneless

Do they do anything fun or cool for a birthday celebration?

I would call or check website.

Any vegan options or substitutions? I'm visiting from out of town, trying to plan a bday dinner with a vegan in the group.

Some, but very limited. You might want to choose a different spot. Having said that, The Stillery is a great spot and still highly recommended.

The salmon was beautifully prepared with fresh vegetables that complemented it perfectly. The venison was tender, perfectly cooked, and seasoned to perfection. Dessert was unforgettable. The chocolate mousse à la mode was rich yet light, paired with creamy vanilla ice cream and a hint of passion fruit. Three of us ordered that. We knew it would not be for sharing. The blueberry sundae featured the best blueberries we've ever tasted. And then there was the chocolate peanut butter brownie ice cream. As someone who's spent years trying chocolate peanut butter ice cream everywhere-from roadside shops to gelato in Italy-I can confidently say ETCH's version deserves to be considered one of the best in the world. The creamy chocolate and peanut butter, combined with rich brownie pieces, made it absolutely unforgettable. Normally I'd recommend a favorite dish, but I can't-because everything we ordered was exceptional. My advice? Go with a group, order a variety of dishes, and share everything. Every appetizer, entrée, side, and dessert that hit our table was outstanding, and every single person left talking about their favorites. Deb Paquette is a visionary and deserves a standing ovation The quality of the food, the creativity of the menu, the impeccable service, and the very reasonable prices make ETCH absolutely worth the trip. We chose the restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday and, as we have done on previous visits, ordered the Chef's Special for our party of three. While we were surprised to see the price had increased by $15 per person since our last visit, we expected the same high-quality dining experience that has always made the restaurant a favorite. Unfortunately, the service and pacing fell well short of those expectations. Dinner lasted more than two hours from start to finish, with excessive waits between nearly every course. What should have been an enjoyable celebratory meal became increasingly frustrating as the evening progressed. Our server appeared attentive and engaged with surrounding tables throughout the night, yet we frequently felt overlooked. There were extended periods where we were unable to get refills or assistance, leaving us feeling forgotten and, quite literally, thirsty. By the end of the evening, we had to request that the "sweet treat" be packaged to go, and the response from our server came across as irritated rather than accommodating. This was our first time being seated on the outdoor patio, but regardless of seating location, the level of service should be consistent throughout the restaurant. In the end, we spent well over $300 and left feeling frustrated, exhausted, and disappointed rather than celebrated. For a restaurant that has built a reputation on exceptional food, hospitality, and attention to detail, this experience missed the mark. Significant price increases are easier to accept when they are accompanied by an equally elevated dining experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case on this visit, and it has left us questioning whether we will return in the future.

Oh, this place is soooo good and worth the price!…read more I came here for a birthday dinner with a couple of friends and seriously you cannot go wrong with anything you order. We ordered some sausage cheddar biscuits, tomato pie, and bacon wrapped quail as appetizers and they were all delicious especially the tomato pie. Nobody had a bad word to say about entrees either! I ordered a seasonal sea bass dish and it was seriously one of the best things I have ever eaten. My husband got the short rib, and it was really tender and so yummy. If you're looking for somewhere to go for a special occasion this place will not disappoint.

The atmosphere was lively but not over-the-top. And the menu was full of delicious options. There was also a special menu for folks with various dietary restrictions, which came in handy for our gang. We started with shishito peppers, beef tartare and mellon balls with shaved ham. All were delicious! For the mains, we had beef cheek "pot roast", short rib and a NY strip, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes. Elevated "comfortable food" that leaves one quite satisfied. The wine list was mainly US wines (I'm a fan of Italian reds), but they had one of our favorite Napa cabs at a reasonable price, so all good! The bar serves a range of interesting cocktails that we plan to try next time. I usually pass on desserts, but the fried peach pie and ice cream was too good to pass up. The blackberry trifle was also yummy! 5th and Taylor became one of our favorites after this visit. We'll return for date nights and to bring large parties of out of town guests. Enjoy!
