Decent food! The interior was really cute and bird themed. Felt a bit pricey for what we got. The real stand out was the stuffed bagel bites and the arancini. I loved the unique idea of cream cheese on the inside and the arancini was fried perfectly! I liked my French toast but nothing super duper memorable. It is an artsy brunch place with indoor and outdoor seating. I got here for dinner, and we were escorted to the table instantly. For appetizers, we ordered the spicy ahi tuna, sriracha, Duke's mayo, sesame, green onions, and crispy jasmine rice, which was so, so, so good. The tuna was fresh, and the rice was crispy and had a kick of heat. For the main course, I got the crispy chicken thigh with potato waffle and hot honey. The chicken was crispy and juicy, and paired so well with the hot honey. Our server was very warm. Although the service did take a little while, I could overlook that for food as good as that. However, parking can be a bit tricky because the restaurant doesn't have a dedicated space, and street parking is limited. I came across this restaurant while searching for places to eat while we were here visiting. The decor of this place is 10/10. They had the most beautiful wallpaper, with simple and elegant table settings. I called ahead to see if they can accommodate eight people, initially they were not sure but offered for us to come in and when we arrived they were able to see us immediately. This morning we had the cinnamon roll which if you can get I highly recommend. I had the 'Merica which is a breakfast staple. Eggs, bacon or sausage with toast and potatoes. My wife had the grits with bacon. I'm not a grits fan but I did try a bite and they're delicious. For drinks I had the Caffeine Me and my wife had Bubbles in a Bag. Highly recommend getting a reservation on the weekend especially late spring through early fall. This place will be packed with tourists and bachelorette parties. There's many good things about this restaurants - it looked beautiful inside and outside, the service was pleasant and cocktails were delicious. However, the most important part of any restaurant - the food itself - was pretty disappointing. My mushroom pasta was extremely dry and only had like 5 slices of mushrooms on top. The Mockingbird made for an amazing brunch while we were on a trip to Nashville, loved the variety in the menu, the styling of the restaurant, and the taste of course lived up to the billing! Carbs ruled the day, as they should, as we piled into some fresh made biscuits with jam and some stuffed bagel bites to start things off along with a round of brunch cocktails. The biscuits were golden and beautiful, tasting as good as they looked. Fluffy and buttery, they were easily some of the best biscuits I have tasted, and I assure you my biscuit experience is bountiful. Like one of my tablemates, when the server mentioned that their burger was voted the best burger in Nashville on multiple occasions, I simply could not resist but to order it. Challenge accepted, after already having had a biscuit and a stuffed bagel, but hey, vacation... right? The burger was indeed rich and delicious. I'd make a couple tweaks, but to say it wasn't really darn good as is would be a mistake. I finished every bite even though I definitely was on the struggle bus driven by carbs at the end, especially since the fries it also came with would rank very high on my favorite fries list too. That had a really interesting seasoning on them that just made them super addictive. All in all, not a place you should pass on in Nashville. They make them with Vodka or Beer or NA which I thought was cool. We also ordered bagel bites and biscuits for the table because carbs are life. The brunch menu is awesome - it offers something for everyone whether you're into the breakfast vibes or something a bit heartier on the lunch side. While a lot of things caught my eye, like the breakfast tacos and fried rice, I hadddd to order the burger. Our server said this burger had been awarded the best burger in Nashville a few years in a row so I thought to myself, this is a must. I also got the wedge salad and split the burger and salad with my colleague. We really nailed the order with something refreshing and something heavy. The burger really was great, and the fries were seasoned and delicious. I felt the wedge salad was a biiiit heavy on the dill in the dressing for my taste but overall very good. I've been to Mockingbird for brunch/lunch, and dinner, and Ive have never left hungry or upset...always fat and happy. For brunch, I recommend Those Buns Dough or the seasonal Massive Donut! Biscuits are solid as well, but it's the apps at brunch that stand out. For dinner, we ALWAYS start off with the Totchis. Lamb chili, beer cheddar, tots, and crema...need I say more!? For mains, I've tried nearly everything on the menu, but my ultimate favorite is The Bird is the Word, and I'll fight about it. Perfectly cooked chicken fried chicken over creamy mashed potatoes, topped with chorizo gravy and pickled onions. Absolutely divine! The Mockingburger is also solid if you're more in a burger mood. Nothing to wag your finger at for sure. The cocktails are creative and expertly crafted. While I love trying specialty cocktails, I usually go for the Punchin' Bag - It's essentially an adult Capri Sun! They have a base juice flavor of the day, and you then add your spirit of choice. Never had a bad bag of booze here! Another thang that makes Mockingbird special is the vibes and ambiance with two levels of seating, retro decor, good beats playing, gorgeous wallpaper throughout and a cozy patio. Parking can be tricky and a bit pricey, but I usually park in the Whole Foods garage and get validated. Overall, Mockingbird is one of the places that made us fall in love with Nashville, which eventually led us to moving up a few years ago. I've been able to dine in for both the brunch and dinner. I highly recommend the brunch if you have a big party. Their cinnamon rolls and bagel bites are incredible starters. We walked here from our hotel on the other side of town cause we wanted to try one of Maneet's restaurants, but in hindsight, I don't know that she has anything to do with this one, other than it's in the same building as her actual restaurant and they are all part of the same restaurant group. It was a Tuesday morning and they were not busy, so we had no problem getting a table and had prompt service. This Chef certainly knows how to make a sandwich. We shared two of them. The Cuban and the Meatball hero. Bread for both was fantastic. The favorite for both of us was the Cuban. The balance of flavors was perfect and that roast pork...mmmm! In the outskirts of Nashville lies a restaurant with low ceilings, nice lighting, flower wallpaper, and puns for the names of drinks. While I've been here multiple times the Braised short rib and Jamaican wings are our favorite! This trip I got the charred cabbage which was very good, however the quinoa was a little bland. Our server answered our questions, brought our drinks out quickly and was very helpful and attentive (but not overbearing). It was good and fun! Our table ordered the pumpkin bread as a starter which was yummy and then our table ordered the BLT with tots, one with fries and brussels sprouts and I ordered the garden salad with giant crouton and chicken. We excitedly returned to Mockingbird for our New Years eve dinner and unfortunately like many restaurants they seem to struggle with consistent high quality among the service staff. In this visit, our server seemed poorly trained and diminished what would have been another excellent dining experience. A few things... appearing confused and somewhat disheveled from the start, she never introduced herself or tried to engage us at any point during our visit; she confused our appetizers (in fact, she appeared at the table with a second order of the mini grilled cheese sandwiches, not remembering we had already completed one) offered drink refills but never to return with the refills until we had completed our entrees and our plates had been cleared by someone else; when we asked for a dessert menu, she brought us a happy hour menu. Lastly, she seemed to hold us hostage at the end as she never returned to collect payment. The only saving grace was that one of the friendly owners would check in on us periodically and he even had to refill beverages and collect payment. On a positive, the food was excellent and we will likely return on our next visit to Nashville and hopefully we will receive better service. read more

We started with the cinnamon roll and boy was it huge! (This seems to be a theme) The cream cheese frosting was incredible and the roll was nice and warm. We were told the burger has won numerous awards, so we had to get it. It did not disappoint! I loved the smash burgers and how cheesy it was. Their "fancy sauce" on it is amazing as well. It was garlicky and truffley and really added to the burger. Plus, the fries were seasoned perfectly and really added to the dish. We also ordered the tacos and it was ginormous! I was expecting 2-3 smaller tacos and was definitely surprised with the size of this one! The eggs in this taco were cooked perfectly. Everything worked together from the salsa to the chorizo to the refried beans. It was also surprisingly easy to eat with a fork and knife.
