To understand what I am looking for. Clean, good bed, nice shower. A place to sleep before I head out again the next day. This place is perfect! Very nice rooms, fridge, table, desk area, TV. Everything is perfect. Also if you needed there is a covered off-set grill area for cooking. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Cute little retro motel. This place is family owned and very clean. The family that owns it is very friendly and helpful. In general, Cortez is a very friendly little town. We were here on Christmas day and all restaurants were closed. The only open place was closing as we were about to enter and they let us in anyway so we wouldn't have to go hungry on Chritmas night. We were not rushed or anything and could take our time to eat. In the morning, we went to a small gas station to buy an ice scraper and a really nice girl that was just leaving the store and must have overheard my husband asking the clerk where to find one, just gave me hers to keep!!! Incredibly nice! :)

Clean, family owned and affordable. The front desk is friendly and do their best to accommodate. The inn is only a few miles from downtown Cortez and has a beautiful mountains behind it. I highly recommend this inn.

I'd leave zero if I could…read more I made a reservation, that was all well and good. Then I had to cancel my reservation four days prior to our arrival. We got word that my mother in law was very ill and was going to die. We had to cancel our travel plans. I called immediately and spoke to a woman at the front desk. She said she would take care of it. Stupid me, I trusted her. She didn't. A few weeks later, I see a one night charge on my card (that's their policy, if you're a no-show you're charged one night). Uh, no, I called and canceled! So I called again and asked to speak to the manager. That was a no, he doesn't take phone calls and I had to email him. I did. Twice. No response. I submitted a dispute with my credit card but I shouldn't have to. This bonehead of a manager should 1) take calls from confused (and now, angry) guests) and 2) respond to emails. So, screw you Best Western Turquoise Inn. The manager there is a jerk and the front desk woman I spoke with is incompetent. You can bet your ass we will never stay at your hotel. Not only did we lose my mother in law, but I was wrongfully charged $60 despite me being responsible and canceling. I'm being punished for your employee's lack of follow through.

I booked a one night room for my nephew's birthday way before the pool broke down. I drove all the way from California to be with them. When I got there and told them the situation they said I can have a refund for the one night on his birthday because I booked it before the pool notice was up. They needed a manager to assist with this but she wasn't in. I stayed an additional 7 nights and went to the front desk everyday and the manager was never there. I gave my room number and left my personal name and number. Never got my refund. Seems shady to me.

Our room on the second floor experienced a lot of noise from the upper floor. Could just be that particular guest, but if we stay here again I'd request a top floor room. Our room was clean and felt quite large. The bed is against the bathroom wall, facing the window. I really like this room configuration. The bed is comfortable with a variety of pillows. Desk, fridge, luggage rack are all there. Bathroom has multi-use products on the walls and there are plenty of hooks in there! Towels enough for three. There is a fan in the ceiling, but no switch to turn it on. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. Barn style door rolls between the closet and bathroom. Breakfast was OK. The coffee isn't good. This location does not have a breakfast fridge so some of the items (yogurt, cream cheese) were not available. Oatmeal, eggs, sausage gravy and biscuit, meat along with cold cereals, toaster items and waffles. Staff were friendly. Big hotel shop. Water bottle filling station. Guest laundry.

What a prize! I was driving east through Arizona to Colorado…read moreand just couldn't drive anymore. When I arrived in Cortez, CO I decided I would stop. I looked on Google for hotels, but all the listings (commercial ads) were $90+ so I pulled into a place that the place with the sign that said, "Historic Hotel, Low Rates, Free Wifi". The office staffer, Connie, was amazingly nice. She gave me a "National Park Pass" discount of $10 so my room was under $70. Price is nice, but the room was truly "historic" AND very clean. Queen bed with lots of room to walk around it and a large bathroom. Plus the Wifi was lightening fast. I download all my photos from the Grand Canyon without so much as a slow down. I stayed here in August 2019, which judging by past reviews, was shortly after the change in ownership. Check-in was alright and I was directed to a room in the front of the property. When I pulled up to my room, a staff member doing work on the came up to me and asked for my room key so he could turn on the AC and make sure the room was ready...okay. This might just be my New York paranoia talking, but I gave the room a thorough inspection when I got inside. The room was a 50s motel room, which was about what I expected. Furniture was dated, but it was clean. The internet password was not posted prominently and required me to read the fine print in the guide. Most hotels post the wifi password prominently and don't expect you to spend 15 minutes looking all over the room for it. Once I got that settled, the room was generally quiet and comfortable. The next morning, renovation work was going on pretty early in the morning. Thankfully, I wanted an early start anyway, so I wasn't bothered. This property worked for the night, but I'm not sure I'd return. Independent motels are always a gamble and, unfortunately, this one didn't live up to the past reviews.

Unfortunately, we had to move our room each night due to problems with the rooms. It was difficult enough being there for the memorial of my husband's child, but also that neither one of us were feeling good and having to move room to room made things worse! This shouldn't have happen in any hotel! The hotel is older and is quite rundown in some areas it needs improvement! The hotel itself is not bad as far as layout with pool in middle and nice plants but in whole , it definitely needs some work to repair those things . On the other hand, the day crew each day were outstanding, and several employees went out of their way to do what they could to accommodate. The number one person there was Amy, she was outstanding in every way Customer service oriented and very friendly, and did what she could to accommodate . There was also Shaunna, who was informative regarding the town and Nick who was very good in the kitchen and helped me to room with some food without me asking. He saw the need to help and offered! If it wasn't for those employees, our time with you guys would've been extremely bad & a disappointment.

First I'll mention my only two complaints: 1) the shower didn't have any shelves to set my stuff on, and 2) the kitchenette didn't have any dishes, pots, pans, or utensils. Luckily I didn't need to use the kitchenette, but it would have been nice to know I needed to bring my own kitchenware ahead of time. Now for the positives: the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the shower was hot. I read some reviews about the shower not being hot, and I actually had some friends staying in a different room, and they said their shower wasn't hot. My shower actually started off lukewarm, but after a few minutes it was hot, so all good there! I had a fridge, a microwave, the A/C worked great, the TV was good, and there was a coffee maker too! Next, I have to say that the breakfast was fantastic! It is very difficult to know what the breakfast will be like before you're actually there. I had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes with bell peppers, toast with butter and jelly, coffee, and orange drink. There were also bagels, cream cheese, cereal, milk, and a waffle maker available! The staff were very friendly as well! This place was a bargain! I highly recommend!
