Visiting Michigan from the East coast and decided to stop in and give it a try. The ambiance is great, and very family friendly. It has plenty of seating regardless of how the parking lot looks full. The food that was coming out looked awesome. The three stars comes from the line up of available beers. The lager beer was not good. Period. They offer a lime with it but it tasted like there was lime in it. The lagering process is a very precise way of brewing a particular style of beer and this was a swing and a miss. Also had the Plain Jane brown ale and it was ok, but zero carbonation to it. And then there were the beers with spicy stuff and just weird ingredients that didn't hit for me. Granted, I can be a bit of a purist for Rhienheitsgebot brewing rules but I wasn't in love with the beers I tried. Overall, nice place with nice staff but the beer line up wasn't awesome this time around. read more

Great brewery! Friendly service. We tried a couple different IPA's and both were very good. Had the pretzel for a little appetizer. It was nothing spectacular but it was still good. We did not try any of their other menu items but they have a pretty decent selection. I like that they have a kids menu. And I like that they have a parking lot. As always, White Flame has excellent beer- my personal favorite is the Red Shoes, but I tried their blueberry wheat ale, and it was equally delicious! We also ordered the dickle pizza from their feature menu- the toppings were great, the crust was a little doughy. It was a good snack, but definitely could've cooked a little longer. The vibes were chill, per usual, and seemed like it was mostly regulars in (we were there on a Sunday evening). Overall, a great spot! One of the most underrated breweries in the area. read more

What a surprise this little joint turned out to be. A true don't judge a book by its cover sort of place. There was only one gal working & the place was hopping. It screamed dive bar, and I wasn't convinced that I was somewhere I wanted to be & had no interest in food. The gal let us know she'd be a minute, as she was slammed and waiting for another gal to arrive. I'd be lying if I said we didn't almost take off, but we have a passport to fill & take this "mission" seriously. ; ) I can honestly say that I'm glad we stayed. This turned out to be the best stop of the day. The patrons were eager dig through our beer Bible & share thoughts, opinions and recommendations. This helped the wait pass quickly & soon we were onto our selection. We inquired about food after someone mentioned the cheese. Yup, cheese... she said she'd be back for food orders once help arrived. This time passed quickly as well. Soon, help was there, and the chaos died down. The cheese was, as promised, an absolute treat. The pretzel sauce divine. Sure, service had a small hiccup, but was handled as well as it could be. Definitely the atmosphere of a bar with a little gastro pub flare I ordered the Big Chub ($14) which is tender beer-braised Shredded Beef Pot Roast w white american cheese & horseradish mayo served on Pretzel bun. It was very good. The only change I would make is to add an Au Jus. I added a French Onion dip ($1) for the chips and that was delicious. They serve Detroit Sodas, which was okay, but I prefer Coke or Pepsi. The person I was with ordered the Jimmy Pizza ($12), which is Seasoned lamb with feta cheese, pizza cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and tzatziki sauce. It was very much enjoyed. The place is order at the bar and your food is brought out. The service was pleasant and food was fast. Overall a 4 1/2 star review. Do to needing to round it becomes a 4. Would I return? I ordered the lil chubs and I should've ordered more. They were great! Flavor was very good. They have a cheese sauce that goes really well with them. The bar gives off a local watering hole vibe and I hear the hot dogs are great as well. I will be back to try other items. Service was very friendly and on top of refills. read more

We had the riblets. The meat was tender but it had too much of the rub on it and could barely taste the meat. The cole slaw had too much vinegar in it. All I could taste was the vinegar. The beer was good. I was expecting to have our order taken at our table by waitstaff but instead had to place our order at the bar and then go sit at our table to wait for our food to be brought out. First time visiting this place! They have a walk up ordering type service. The bartender was absolutely amazing: super friendly, super suggestive on different dishes etc and she never seemed rushed or stressed; true professional in every sense... Great job. The drinks were tasty we got some ciders (the apple and the hot ginger) and the double ipa- pretty solid offering of most everything. Then came the food and everything was delicious. I got the nachos which were super tasty and loaded in every bite, the pizza was very flavorful, would love to come back and try more!! Could have been in any other place. Just very generic. It was fairly quiet when we were there but we still enjoyed ourselves. We always do! As usual we sat at the bar to chat with the bartender. We went in for a nite cap to White Flame Brewing Co, which we were glad we did. It was near the hotel we were staying in the little town of Hudsonville. We were immediately made to feel like regulars, with the staff being super friendly! There were an array of amazing brews on tap with creative names, in which I grabbed a tasty flight I was very fond of! There was live music, or karaoke. Stopped here after an outing with our friends at the nearby bowling alley for drinks and were not disappointed! Inside, they had two bars and the lower level has a seating area that opens with garage doors to outside. Upper level is has plenty of seating and a cozy feel. There are dart boards on the lower level, so we decided to play a few games. The lower bar wasn't open, but it was convenient to get drinks from the upper bar. We are at the bowling alley, so we only for got drinks this time and I enjoyed the seltzers. They had regular seltzers you can add flavors to like blackberry and pomegranate. There was also a ginger seltzer, and the bartender recommended adding the pomegranate flavoring to it. I loved it, and it was a great idea to be able to "customize" your seltzers. Super local and super quaint with small outdoor seating lodges numbered 1-4 that looked like they sat 4 each. The inside reminded me off ski chalet (there might have even been a fireplace?) with a warm comfort to the space and to the welcome. We were there for a quick nightcap so just a couple glasses of their white wine. I did notice however than they had a couple cork dart boards hanging on the wall; a nod to you dart fans that are purists. I heard they have trivia too. Overall this is a place I'll return to. Great place for good beer and good food. They are located behind the family fare in Hudsonville. They don't have very good parking but once you park and get inside it is worth it. They have a great assortment of craft beer. I like all of them. If you like all kinds of beer, you cannot go wrong. They do offer a sample flight if you cannot decide. The food is amazing. We got the cowboy Mac (add the jalapeños if you like hot..it was amazing!) and the little chubbs. Their spicy pickle is awesome and their potato chips have a great seasoning. It's a low key small brewery. You go up to the bar to order, there is a sign telling you where to go. It's really clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend a stop here for lunch or dinner if you want creative food and beer that goes above and beyond others. read more

We recently went to WFBC for the first time. We sat out in the hopbox just for fun :-) we had a wonderful time. You can rent a heater for $5- it was perfect. Their food is amazing & their hard cider is my favorite! My husband got a Reuben sandwich with chips. I got a Turkey club on a pretzel bun with chips. We shared a big soft pretzel with cheese. All was exceptional! Staff was very friendly. This is our new favorite place for sure. We actually have plans there twice in the next 2 weeks! Haha! Highly recommend. read more

Stopped in after a college sports event. It was about 2 pm and it was quiet with a few people at tables. There was football on the screens, and we got a table, scanned the QR code and placed our order at the bar. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. We stopped in for lunch after spending some time exploring Grand Haven and Hudsonville antique shops. The parking lot has a gigantic dip in it, so beware of that..... Once you successfully navigate that, everything is a breeze. I ordered a flight of beer that included Ugly Stick, Lumpy Space Princess, Golden Boy, Bourbon Barrel Black Sheep, and Electric Pale Ale. All of the were solid beers, the Ugly Stick was a nitro stout and was my favorite. The Lumpy Space Princess was pineapple and pink peppercorns which I loved. I'm not usually a huge IPA fan, but this had a very unique flavor. They have a nice range of beers on their board and they also have hard cider and wines- something for everyone. Their food menu was really nice- I tried the Jimmy and was pleased with the delicious flavors. Add the chip dip for a $1, I don't remember what it was but it was AMAZING.
