Baseball Park full of local culture, baseball fun, and modern amenities!…read more We took the Behind the Scenes tour and let's just say... LoanDepot Park may have some epic things hidden in plain sight that you never even realized. From the 360 degree first level concourse with views of play the entire way around, a retractable roof and wall to allow climate control, bullpen club that allows you to be right with the home team, and a PNC club that is better than most luxury seats with a floor-to-ceiling view of the player batting cages.. this stadium is packed with cool stuff! A bobblehead museum in center field with magnetically disrupted shelf plating to allow all of the 700+ bobbleheads to bobble for your delight. Concessions with clever pun names and uniquely around the stadium without constant duplication like most stadiums. Donated artwork everywhere to create gorgeous views and local flair. West Plaza open to the public every day with art installations and public events and concerts. Even the East Plaza with an homage to the old Orange Bowl by placing the old stadium letters throughout the plaza based off a demolition simulation that showed where they would've landed in the implosion. Literally thoughtful details in every aspect. Such a cool, new park that locals should love!!

Without a doubt the worst of these was LoanDepot Park. Sadly, the roof was closed and perhaps that made this place seem like a worse abomination than it may other wise be. This place opened in 2012. It was designed for baseball. It is to new to be such a toilet. The architects should have their licenses suspended, forced to write apology letters to every person that has been there to see a game, and be bared from building anything more than a simple bird feeder. Besides the layout for seating, the people that decided where scoreboard go should be punished or jailed. And the genius that thought putting the Marlins Hall of Fame and World Series trophies on a floor most fans wouldnt consider accessing is a massive failure I. customer engagement. The clowns that installed the speaker system should be forced to have to listen only using his sound system. Expensive seats that cant see all scoreboard and fans forced to hunt for in-game stats. seats that are found on the opposite side of the concourse, a huge wasted area in right field are just a few of the disasters that make this place a mess. Now, let's talk food. The WORST hotdog in the majors and I have had dogs in a stadium where the vendors were on strike. $17.50 for a hot dog that was long, skinny, cold, improperly cooked and what seemed to be a stale bun and a 17 ounce bottle of what is offensive. The "plastic" bucket for popcorn for the same price of a hit dog and water is also a joke. The Marlina cant draw fans because they aren't a good team. Even if they were a good team, the hell-scape that is this park and it's food is enough to keep people away.

I have never been inside the actual stadium structure, only the area surrounding the building, just to be clear. But it is a truly impressive piece of real estate. The bathrooms are great, there are water stations at every corner, medics always in sight, and as a regular festival-goer, there is not really much else I can ask for that Rolling Loud at Hard Rock Stadium does not already provide. The times I have had here have been unbelieveabely amazing and high in energy. The place is quite vast and it can be easy to get confused directionally, so a map is essential. The only notably bothersome thing is the process of getting to-and-from the stadium. There are no public transportation options that take you anywhere near the stadium grounds, as Miami Gardens is located more inland from the coast in a random section of town. Getting to the area via taxi includes to-be-expected traffic and at least $20 in your pocket if you're coming from the east. But getting home is a complete nightmare. Your only options are Uber, Lyft, or a taxi that will charge you $200 to take you 15 miles to Dania Beach. Every night of the festival, when 12 a.m. hit and everyone would rush to get out and call their Ubers, the Uber and Lyft apps were successful in getting absolutely nobody home. For hours it would be like this. The apps didn't work because of so many people using them all at once. On one of the nights I was in attendance, the show ended and my friend and I walked over 3 miles away (hoping our odds of finding a ride would increase the further away we were from the place) from the stadium on 2-foot wide sidewalks past 12 at night, searching high and low for a taxi sitting stationary in the surrounding neighborhood traffic that would be willing to take us to our hotel in Hollywood Beach for a price lower than $180. Once we were in the car, it was standstill traffic for miles until we got home. All of the taxis we came across before this either already had passengers in the car or were simply unwilling to take anybody at all unless we would pay an absurd amount of money. There isn't much advice I can give regarding this issue, because unless you are okay with leaving the event you paid for early in order to beat the congestion, there's not a lot you can do except hope you win the rideshare lottery for the night. Expect to pay a pretty penny and have your patience tested, while also carrying home some amazing memories.

OK I'm giving Hard Rock Stadium 5 stars for the actual venue and sporting experience. Watching the Indiana Hoosiers win their first national championship was priceless and the empty ladies rooms were incredible!! What needs serious work is leaving the facility and Lot 44 rideshare. OMG it was a total nightmare. Someone has to do something as there were hundreds and hundreds of people just waiting at 1am for rides.... and that's after walking for a looong time just to get to the lot. Something is very broken with that!! We were stranded and traffic was horrible. We wound up leaving the lot and finding our uber driver on the main road. The ride share part of this stadium is broken. Fix it, Miami!!

During that time, I attended Game 2 of the 2005 Eastern Conference semifinals versus the Washington Wizards; a 108-102 Heat victory led by Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem. I bought a "Wade County" T-shirt and it was one of my favorite T-shirts. The Heat would later go on to win their first NBA championship the following year (2006). At that time, little did I know Miami would deliver the most heartbreaking loss of my NBA fandom seven to eight years later in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals. That was the Ray Allen three and the Heat surviving, 103-100 in OT, against the San Antonio Spurs. You see, I was a diehard Tim Duncan-era Spurs fan. But, as Tim said himself after the Spurs won the 2014 title, winning in 2014 made 2013 okay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cHiM4WFpV4 Props to D-Wade, Pat Riley, Erik Spoelstra, and the Heat for winning those three titles in 2006, 2012, and 2013. Shout-out to Chris Bosh, out of Georgia Tech (my alma mater), as well. As much as the Heat were the Spurs' nemesis in 2013-2014, I did think it was impressive how they successfully constructed a roster to complement the Big Three and go to the NBA Finals all four years (2011-2014) of that era. Also, shout-out to Bam Adebayo, who scored 83 points earlier this year (2026), breaking Kobe Bryant's 81 for second-most points scored in a game. Bam played high school ball in my hometown: High Point, North Carolina.
