Took it to Minnie's bc I was so impressed w the first visit which was just a basic oil change. This was on a Monday and they were booked til Friday so I set the appointment and came back later. They did a full inspection and determined the issue was a failing coolant pump on the electric side. They said they found no leaks etc.They detailed what the issue was and what the fix was. I'm definitely impressed w how they break down what they do into digestible bite sized bits for non-car folks. They offered I could pick up the car and pay the diagnostic/inspection fee of $50. Said they didn't have the high voltage equipment to work on the car and advised go to a specialist. Lucky for me I do have one ( Woodards in Florence, I just moved here from there. ). They work on hybrids and electric so I took it there. The only grip I'd have is that I did ask if Minnie's handles hybrids. I believe I was told yes and the person ( the owner ) stated they drive a hybrid Camery. Maybe I should have said "work on the electric side of hybrids bc I could have dropped it at Woodards 60 miles away but I'd rather pump money into a reliable, friendly place. Not sure I'll be back. The inspection reports they send to my phone are always clear and have photos to show me what they're talking about. I have taken my car here for oil changes, tire rotations, flat tires, problems with the fuel tank vapor line (mice chewed a hole in it), new tire pressure sensors (my car has over 240K miles on it), cooling system service, new brakes, and gotten the A/C fixed. I have never felt that they were ripping me off. They've never tried to get me to have something done that I really didn't need. I am very happy with them. Highly recommend.

The VSC light, Anti-lock brake light, Power-steering light and word BRAKE showed up on my dashboard 3 weeks ago, so I took my Toyota to the dealership Midlands Toyota on Killian so they could tell me what was going on. After charging me $167 to run the diagnostic test, they told me that the Brake Master Cylinder and brake booster pump assembly needed replacing to the tune of $4,400. I asked the representative if this was covered under recall or warranty. He said no. I called later that same day to Midlands Toyota to ask the same question in hopes of getting another representative who would actually look. I was told no--it wasn't covered and that I'd have to come out of pocket for the cost. I called a family friend and mechanic and he recommended Chapman's Auto Tech. I went over there and talked to Mike. I showed him the diagnostic from the dealership and asked what would they charge me to replace these parts. He gave me a lower estimate for the total job. Not only that, Mike and Robert (the owner) told me that they have a year warranty on parts AND labor. I left my car with Chapman's Auto Tech. While waiting for the parts to come in, I got a call back from Chapman's. Robert asked me if I was sitting down. He told me that Mike took the time to do some digging and made phone calls to Toyota. Sure enough, the whole job WAS COVERED under the warranty. He found it written plain as day in the Customer Support Program. It seems to me that someone at Midlands just wanted to skim $4000+ from me instead of doing their job and honoring their own Customer Support Program. Chapman's Auto Tech could have done the same, but these guys actually mean what they say when it comes to customer satisfaction and being an honest business. Chapman's has been in business over 32 years. Seriously, if you have car troubles in the Columbia Midlands area, try Chapman's Auto Tech first. They really are good guys. It is refreshing to know there are still honest auto repair companies out there!

They told me it was a speed sensor the price out the door was $144. I told them to go ahead and fix it. Now the other day the check engine light came on again. Never had problems with my vehicle before. I take very good care of my vehicle yes things break and need to be fixed that's everyday maintenance of course. But this was a little odd now since the check engine light is on again in such short period of time so I brought it back. They told me it was a different problem they think it could be the coil pack or it could need new spark plugs which I just put in 20,000 miles ago and they are platinum spark plugs that are supposed to last 100,000 miles they also told me I needed a transmission flush that I did only about 10,000 Mi ago and I needed stutter guard for my vehicle out the door it would have been over $550. I basically told them to take a walk. I used to go to this place all the time but it has changed names from Kestner Auto to now Rev Auto. They seem to hire all new people and very young kids not there's anything wrong with hiring young kids but they seem to be guessing on what may be wrong with the vehicle as people pay good money to fix it and the problem are not always what they are claiming. If you bring your car in there to get service don't expect to get it serviced the same day it usually takes a good 24 hours for them to even look at it if you're lucky. Oh yes I decided to change the spark plugs myself for $20 and that fixed my problem they wanted to do it for $550 and it wasn't even all the problems they all claimed it was. I would not recommend this mechanic shop.
