The smell of it is amazing, and not musty or axe smelling like a lot of them are. Also great because not many beauty supplies around here sell many beard oils. Outside of Sally's and even then, that's rare sometimes. Not to mention have it priced cheaper than places like Target have it! ($7.99 for a two ounce bottle vs $15 for a one ounce bottle at Target.) I did notice the owners were like watching everything from the registers. But you kinda gotta expect that at a small business beauty supply store. Definitely gonna come back when I need a restock on that beard oil! Also have my eye on that Jamaican flag bandana too haha.

MUST READ: I just felt the need to update my review since…read moreI've continued to go to Kelley for not only eyelash extensions, but hair extensions as well. First of all, Kelley is a fantastic, beautiful, down to earth woman and I am so #blessed that getting my lashes done has sparked a friendship and someone I can confide in! Second, the quality of her work is outstanding. Everyone ALWAYS compliments me on my lashes. She does a wonderful job switching up the style to see what you like most and what works best with your face structure. Also, I haven't gotten my lashes filled since May 16... it's July 1 and I'm STILL getting compliments on them.. they just look super natural and whisky and have not damaged my real lashes. May 16 I also got Tape In extensions (first time, only used clip ins before) and I will never go back to anything else. She is quick and her work is perfect! They still look great, but I'm thinking of getting keralink next. Lastly, Kelley also has an extensive makeup collection and is SO good at doing makeup regardless of complexion/skin tone/etc. Her prices are extremely fair and she always has yummy snacks and great movies for when you're in the chair. Go to Kelley.... I PROMISE you won't regret it and you'll walk out feeling so good about yourself. I get a confidence boost every time! (The photos I just added were from a college event. Kelley did my lashes, makeup, and extensions!)

I've had eyelash extensions before, but the care and detailed work by Kelley was phenomenal. I would highly recommend to all my lash extending friends. She has beautiful taste and you can see that in her salon. She is professional and fun, making the whole appointment fly by. I showed her pictures of what I was aiming for, and she got it spot on. I definitely plan to make my future appointments with her !

It's way bigger on the inside than it looks. Plentiful amounts of merchandise, and the owners (I think) are very friendly and polite. The guy who cashed me out almost gave me the incorrect amount of change back and when I politely pointed it out, he seemed sort of embarrassed, but remained calm and thanked me. I bought a bandana, a Du-Rag, and a black hand towel for my bathroom which I had been looking for, for a little bit now. The prices are pretty decent, seeing as how I'd be more inclined to visit a place like this versus a Dollar Tree. There's just something special about these types of places that you don't get at the corporate stores. The Gold Stars Gift Store is a highly underrated gem in Pawtucket. Don't be intimidated by the outside, come on in and you'd be surprised to find something for your house or yourself. It's like a corner store, dollar store, jewelry store, and more mixed into one. Cool place! Would definitely recommend you check it out! :)

The main attractions (esp. if you're a girl) are really when you walk in-- your eyes draw you straight to the load of hairclips and headbands. If you're like me and "uber kawaii hipster fob" styles entice you then I have to say this place is for you. Okay, back to talking about the hairclips, the ones they carry here are the exact same styles that I buy from a little shop on Thayer called Details for $10 each. (I know what you're thinking, who the hell buys hairclips for $10 a pop? Well I'm one of those crazies. Anything that shines and sparkles and makes me tune into my inner child I just can't resist. It's a sickness really, but I think we all have our weaknesses). ;) Anyways, back to the review. Since Halloween is later this month, my search for wigs was what really brought me to this place. I was looking for a nice long blonde wig for a potential Alice costume and sadly the only selection they carry are brunette wigs. Lovely nonetheless, but nothing really costume-y. A plus for the wigs ranging from $20-30. I did ask the merchant about their limited selection on wigs and his response was understandable. (because lighter colored wigs don't sell well). Oh and they have a nice selection of jewelry, nail polishes, yet smaller selection of makeup. As far as clothing goes I did see a few pajama styles I thought were cute, though I gave up when I tried looking for smalls. Besides hair accessories I did buy a makeup palette and a really cute knitted beanie. Again, similar to a style of hat I bought at another store on Thayer, kinda like UO (forget the name of it) that sells over-priced new vintage-looking clothing. That hat I bought for $30 (yes $30 for a disposable knit hat?! Yesh tell me about it) I ended up buying this similar looking one for $4. Cons about this place would probably be due to the fact that their stock is so random. Anything you find here they probably would have limited duplicates for. I guess for some that might be a pro, esp. if you like unique finds. I guess overall as far as shopping experience goes, organization could be better. It's not bad, but I think it has a lot more potential. And as far as stock goes would love to see them expand their selection of shoes, purses (preferably lower the prices), makeup, and wigs! All in all I'm satisfied with my purchases, for the prices at this shop you can't complain. For as long as I like uber fobby/kawaii goodies I'm going to keep checking back at this place for sure. :)
