It's beautifully set amongst the trees with the river just on the other side of the road. The lodge boasts hotel rooms and cabins. It has an indoor pool, bar, a dining room with its own bar, a conference room, a huge lobby with a fireplace and large chessboard, a patio, and lots of seating. The dining room takes reservations, and if you plan to go on a holiday (especially Mother's Day) book way ahead. They also take walk-ins. The food is so good. My favorite is the fried chicken. It also came with toast, but I took a pass. They provided a steak knife with my breakfast, but it wasn't needed. The meat was tender and it was easy to break off a bite using just a fork. My eggs were fluffy and the potatoes were a good choice. So, always listen to your server. One thing I really like about B Town, is they do not overly season their food. I like the fact that I actually need to add more salt or pepper to my entree. I hate it when some places overly salt food. Huge living area with comfy couches and large dining table. 2 bed rooms can sleep 4. The huge balcony with tables and chairs provides an amazing view of the Clark bridge and Mississippi River. This place is within walking distance of many great Alton eateries and shops. Also only a 16 minute drive to Grafton or Edwardsville for for entertainment. One drawback is the parking. No dedicated lot so it's only street parking. There are dedicated spaces out front and side parking is available too.
