Worst experience with so called expert Valerie who took supposedly custom measurements for customized wheelchair only to have everything reversed when chair was delivered. Almost 3 years later and I can barely sit in the chair for too long without searing pain. $5K wasted and I can't afford a new chair! Others tried to rectify but Valerie was the root problem and then copped a condescending attitude. I think I know my body after some 50 years more than she does. One of the best companies I have purchased from!!! We had previously purchased a lift chair from Bobs along with their OOPs extended warranty. The chair fell apart but they did not honor the warranty as they stated that the accident with the chair met the criteria of chair usage. We went to White Plains Surgical Supply and purchased a new lift chair. The chair was not in stock, so they IMMEDIATELY got us a loaner chair. We have had a couple of warranty issues, and they have gone above and beyond to support us, even after hours. Staff has been very helpful and informative. They have submitted to Medicare for reimbursement for us. read more

I needed n95 masks. Called and was told they were in stock. Bought 30 masks for $180. Seems steep. Was initially given surgical masks. When I returned I was initially given ten masks. Fortunately, I realized before I left. I don't think I will be doing business with them again. read more

We were visiting White Plains with my 12 month old son and needed to pick up prescription medical supplies for him so we called up White Plains Surgical Supplies to see if they could order what we needed. After assuring us on the phone it would be no problem, we went into the store where they refused to help us because they said "your insurance company does not reimburse enough for this to make it worth our while to sell it to you." They then refused to sell it to us unless we paid cash at the full price. I've never experienced anything like this in my life, but clearly they're a business solely in it for the cash. I strongly advise you look elsewhere for your medical product needs. read more

They don't take their business serious, don't answer faxes. I faxed them on 07/20 relating to an exchange order I was promised in a week and never got it. Now I see why they get bad reviews they lack good customer service. Told them I was going out of town and still didn't make a difference to them, I don't have my order. read more

If you want UNreliable service and a staff that lies to your face, then this is the place for you. My elderly parents ordered a cloth truss to help control hernia pain and were told by the staff that it would arrive in 3-4 days. Two weeks later, "it's on the truck and the truck is stuck in NYC". The staff refused to provide a tracking number for the carrier. When I called to speak to the manager, she said " the distributor is unreliable". Why couldn't my parents be told that in the first place? Why lie? We wanted to support a brick and mortar store but this is not a place that deserves any support. Instead, I ordered the truss from an Internet medical supplier and got it within 2 days. Not only did WPSS lie to my parents, but they caused my father to suffer longer in discomfort than he had to while he waited for the fictional truck to deliver the nonexistent truss. read more

This business very purposefully takes advantage of people. They have health insurance company affiliations. However, they lead people to pay for equipment with cash; leading them to believe that they do not have these affiliations. Do not use this company. They are deceptive and not customer focused. read more

I used to work for this place and was underpaid, over worked, and unappreciated. But that wasnt the problem. The problem was the "boss" jay that wanted nothing to do with his business because his money came from the medicine. Don't believe me? Call and ask for jay and youll always get sent to the answer machine with no call in return. He doesn't have prices on any items in the store and thats Because he charges different prices for different customers. And if you do need a price you would have to ask a miserable lady named josie. A rude lady with a deep voice and heavy spanish accent that looks like the cowardly lion from the wizard of oz (google it, its worth the laugh). She lacks customer service skills and common courtesy in general. She'll ramble to customers about her back surgery, about how shes cuban, and about a whole bunch of personal nonsense while other customers wait on line for her to finish yapping. She would talk bad about the bosses wife saying shes a "female dog" because she would actually make her work but when the wife would call she would be super nice/fake. I felt like she would talk about me too so i tried to get on her good side. I bought her a $12 plate of food and she told me she didnt want it. She told me her cable was acting up and i went to her house after work for 3 hours trying to fix it (she didnt even offer me water) her car broke down so i told her i would go pick her up and drop her off every day, i made the calls to the mechanic for her to make sure things were going as planned,i bought her a 50 pack of tea and she says " I bought tea already. I just felt I couldn't win. I was picking up phones, helping with customers, selling 2,000$ chairs, selling equipment, repairing wheelchairs, fixing and cleaning stock, doing deliveries (sometimes in my personal car), sweeping, mopping, cleaning shelves, throwing out trash, assembling chairs, filing his paper work, cleaning the storefront windows, and did this all with a smile. The customers loved me. I never got one complaint. Ever. On the other hand josie had customers ready to jump down her throat for her nonchalant rude attitude. Josie saw that me and the fellow co workers would get along and actually be able to converse. I could never converse with her because she was always talking bad about someone. She had something negative to say about everyone who worked there. I mean everyone. Since i didn't converse with her on a personal level she started telling jay that i was a bad worker. About a week before thanksgiving he tells me that hes cutting my hours from 40 a week to 18. I left a secure 40 hour job because he promised me he would pay me better (he paid $15) and that it would be lite work. I started to feel like i was being forced to quit. I told him the many ways the business can go smoother and he replied.." this is not a franchise business. If you dont like the way i run this business you should go find another job". He didnt pay me for my sick days i was given. He didnt pay me for gas i used for his deliveries, he even didnt pay the tolls i had to take to make the deliveries and i wound up getting penalized for it. Right before Christmas josie was in a bad mood and told me to dust the shelves. Which i did a few days back, removed all the items from the shelves, wiped them and the shelves down. So i grabbed a duster and just dusted any dust that had accumulated in 3 days and i could see in her miserable face that she was mad. She went to jay a week before Christmas n told him that im not working well and he again threatened to take my job from me. Not knowing i was at the door they both acted as if they weren't talking about me and switched the subject. I then went to josie and asked how my work ethics were and she said "your doing good but you need to stay busy" this coming from a lady who sits behind a counter and eats all day. I then went to jay and asked him how my work ethic was and he says "i think your doing good, just try and stay busy". I was confused because i did literally everything there. read more

This is Joel again. I even drew out a precise detail blueprint of the whole store for him. I went back to josie and asked if she hated me. She looked shocked that i went straight to the point and said of course not. I then said if you think im not working to your standards why wouldnt you tell me instead of going to the boss so he can fire me. She interrupted me and said "hes not going to fire you, relax". She then tells me and a fellow employee to not ask her nothing. Dont ask her about prices, dont ask about anything. Mind you, shes the supervisor there. I found another job and told jay I couldn't work there any more and he paid me my last check a few days before Christmas. The check bounced. I texted him and got no reply. Next day i called him and got no answer. So i kept calling. This coward made his daughter pick up to tell me he was busy (like he makes his employees tell the customers he doesn't want to deal with) and that he'll contact me when hes not busy..... I contacted a lawyer. This business over charges sometimes more than double. Don't believe me? Call and ask for a price the compare to other businesses. (Thats why he hides his prices) he treats his loyal customers like trash and talks over them. He also has great people who work for him that he takes advantage of. Don't believe me? Go in and ask anyone if they get treated with respect. He got in trouble with the department of labor because he was not paying for hours and he had to pay a few employees thousands dollars in checks for his thievery. Even here on yelp he hides behind a fake picture. Thats not him on his profile. He put a fake picture up so customers don't know how he looks. Hes the little short indian guy with a square head behind the register in the store pictures. If you go to this store avoid josie and jay. The other workers are sweet and hard working, its just sad that theyre not appreciated. Your best bet is to go online and purchase what you need. Youll get it for cheaper and without the stress of dealing with the two cancers of that store. Do not support businesses like this, Do not buy from this place, and do not work for this place. I needed to rent a wheelchair in order to get home from a rehab facility. One store I called would only sell me a chair. WPSS rented me the chair on a monthly basis (weekly rental is also available) and delivered it within two hours! I can't ask for better than that! Staff was very helpful and friendly. read more
