Excellent BBQ find and given the by our new mate from South Carolina. Pulled pork, ribs, pork belly, sammich. By the time we left the bar it was busy and Irish songs already being sung. It was €50 each for a table of 5. We all had our own meal, a few shared sides and 2 drinks each, including tip.

My lunch. Brisket, beans and potato salad.

As an ageing rocker with a slight fetish for dive bars and BBQ you can take my word for it that this place is great. It's only been open 3 months about the period I get hallpass to visit Cork. Although love Rising sons, BDSM, Fred Zepplins etc. This could be my news go to, could be Ireland's Reds true barbeque. So here's my review, hope there's room for me in 3 months.

I am from North Carolina, so I do have a high bar from BBQ, but based on the reviews I thought this would be better.

Now, me and our party of 4 were on the hound for a burger joint, and many of the really good (looking) ones had an expected wait of up to an hour..which is when we wandered passed Bad Boys BBQ, and decided to settle for it. The place is fairly cramped and it doesn't really have the most inviting decor. It was kind of a cross between a McDonalds and a food stop at Shopping Centre food court in terms of it's size and layout. All the tables and chairs are very "wipe-clean-able" (we ended up sitting on the high chairs at the back anyways), and it is all squashed to the left once you get passed the entrance. In terms of the food...I had a beefburger, and the other's had a pulled pork sanger, and the other just had chips (she doesn't eat meat, and there were no veggie or fish burgers on offer). Now, i will say this....the mince of the burger actually tasted very lean and of a high quality, and the burger was fairly big.....but it's McDonald's style french fries instead of proper fat chips. Overall, the food is good-ish, the staff are hard-working but not memorably charming, and the decor is very "eat and go". Nothing special.

Wings were out of this world delicious, mama cass were my favourite, can't wait to try them again. Also had the rack of rips, fall of the bone tender, my partner had the sticky bbq chicken which was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. A friend at the table got the T-bone steak, she sucked the bones clean it was so good. I can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu. Great location in the city, fantastic atmosphere, with incredibly friendly staff, I also had an opportunity to talk to Frankie, the man in charge, awesome guy, very hands on with the operation of the restaurant which I love to see. I'm very excited that this place has opened and is here to stay.

I was interested to see what was considered American food in Ireland. I ordered a burger and fries and I was very pleased. I did not try the wings but they also looked good. I found it interesting that burgers and wings are gourmet American food in Ireland. Overall, this is a great place for both and also a great place for a quick lunch.

After being on a cruise ship for 14 days, I needed my BBQ fix, so naturally we visited a BBQ joint the first night off the ship. This gem of a restaurant with a modern, industrial feel is tucked away from the main street and offers a variety of meat like you would find in the US. For our dinner, we chose to share the BBQ Blow Out, a tray of Brisket Burnt Ends, Baby Back Ribs, Smoked Chicken, Pulled Pork and sides of cornbread, cob wheels (corn on the corn), slaw, beans, and fries. As a Kansas City BBQ judge, I have had the opportunity to taste all kinds of BBQ cooked many different ways, and this restaurant didn't disappoint. The star of this feast was the brisket. Cooked perfectly, smoky, tender, and some of the best brisket I have ever had. The rest of the meats were great, too. Moist chicken, "fall off the bone" ribs, and flavorable pork. The sides were equally good with the cob wheels being my favorite. Dora here. What a treat to try BBQ in a different country! We were amazed to find this place just up the street from our hotel, tucked midway along a narrow alley. The Blow Out tray provided more than enough food for both of us with some left over. The chicken won me over, and the pork came in a close second. What surprised me was the amount of sauce on the meats. I liked the sweet, not-so-vinegary sauce, but would've preferred to dip my meat, rather than swimming in it. I ate every bite of that tangy apple slaw, and, thankfully, Ernie didn't ask me to share. :) ~Ernie & Dora Hiers, Fiction Faith & Foodies Blog

I should note that this is owned by the man who owned the AirBnB that we stayed in and due to many problems with the home - he comped us dinner for the night which was appreciated. We also were a group of 13 and they are fairly new to being opened as I understand. The menu is good and we had a good variety of food at the table. Unfortunately I think that we were just too big of a group for one person - there was many little things that seemed to go wrong but which also affected the enjoyment of the food. I know that when I ordered - I had the burger and fries. I was very clear when I ordered that I liked ketchup and needed a lot of it and she assured me I would have it. I ordered the appetizer fries to come with my meal which were a parmesan truffle fry. I had to ask at least 3 times to get ketchup and was so frustrated because I had my meal for 25 minutes before any ketchup was brought - oddly they had delivered some to the opposite end of the table - but even then it was only 3 little dishes. I say this all the time - stop serving ketchup in those little containers and put it on the table for people to use as they see fit and not have to beg for it. Honesltly my burger was okay - but it was so cold by this time that I can't even really give a fair judgement of it. The truffle fries were also disappointing - just fries covered in parmesan - couldn't see any truffle oil or taste it. Several people in our group were very happy with their meals - but several of us were not. My brother was frustrated because he had also ordered soup and none was every brought. The big hit of the night was the espresso martini - they were delicious. We got desserts to go and again - some were very happy with them but most were not. I had a berry truffle if I remember right and it was honestly delicious. I think one of my siblings commented on how common the menu was appearing - many places seem to have a similar menu - it's like they are catering to travelers but it's also a little disappointing because they have replaced some American food to satisfy travelers but you struggle to find some of the basics that travelers are looking for as well - Irish stew, cottage/Shepard's pie, boiled ham and cabbage. While I appreciate the efforts there was frustrations in the food - at one point they were trying to deliver the food and it was very unorganized - the woman who had taken the order was not part of delivering it - so they would just come to the table and start asking who ordered the dish they were carrying - one was a side salad and I asked if it had French dressing (which had been requested) and after 3 times of going back and forth the person delivering the food said, 'sure, whatever when I asked if it was the one with French dressing. Appreciate that the meal was free but honestly I left feeling like if I lived there I would give them another try just to see if they could get past the hiccups that come with a new restaurant but it would not be for awhile and honestly I would hesitate to return.
