This was my first time coming and I did a walk in for a full set of acrylics (color french tip) and seemed to be working with a newer employee, as others were coming over to check the work she was doing and giving. advice. I left very disappointed with the nails as they were not the shape I asked for, had poorly painted lines, and I had cuts on my finger from the drill and file. Having been there for an hour I paid and left, thinking of just leaving a poor review. When I got home I decided to call to make the owner aware as I also didn't want to embarrass the nail tech in person. She told me immediately to come back in and she would fix them. I wasn't able to at the moment and she said any time I could make it in same day she would stop her work and fix them for me. I went back in and she did an INCREDIBLE job, no questions asked, in a remarkably short amount of time. Occasionally I will be asked if I have them professionally done. Hell ya, I can't do them myself and I have tried. You can't quite tell because they are not gaudy, but correct for my eye shape and my lifestyle. I have huge confidence leaving the salon. It makes me happy and it shows. The best part is how quickly I can get my makeup routine done in morning. I don't dread it. No more endless mascara application, nor black smudges by end of day. No more trying out new expensive mascara that is never any different than the usual. So thankful for Kelly, Jessica and Dan. I loooove all the services the salon provides. I cannot say this about any other wax I have had done. I was shocked by the difference. I am used to being slightly maimed at other salons. No joke, I have probably used 8 salons you would know by name and would be in extreme discomfort for days. Very reasonably priced as well. Sometimes I need services on short notice or a special request. Kalypso always tries to accommodate my busy schedule even if inconvenience to them. Jessica is very knowledgeable about skin and brows. I wish I could have her soothe and smooth my skin every day. Jessica recommended a brow tint and shaping on my light and thin brows. It makes a big difference. I had no idea. The wax isn't too hot. Sometimes it's a little warm but I'm never worried I'll get burned like some of my friends have at other places. It's $10 (plus tip). I think they might charge you more if you pay with credit because of the vendor fee they get charged. But I think it only goes up two or three dollars. Would recommend! (Can't speak to their nail services- haven't tried it before). One down side: If you do a walk in there is often a wait. They'll say 10 minutes and it'll be more than 10 minutes. So schedule in advance if you can.

The employee checking me in told me I didn't have an appointment, and instead of calmly figuring it out, she and the other technicians proceeded to argue amongst themselves. Eventually, I was told to pick a color. I showed my technician a picture of the red/chrome nails I wanted. She insisted they were cat-eye. I explained, more than once, that I specifically did NOT want cat-eye because I did not want the glitter/sparkle effect. The picture clearly showed a chrome finish. Rather than listening to what I was asking for, she decided what I wanted for me. I eventually chose a red/black cat-eye from their display because the way it was done had a scattered, camouflage-like effect that I thought was pretty. Then came the part I will never forget. I asked if she could change my nail shape from round to almond. She looked at my hand and said, "Too fat." I asked what she meant, and she told me that my nails and fingers were too fat and almond would not look good. Then another technician came over while doing another customer's nails. My technician held MY finger up to her, and they both started giggling about how my finger was "too fat." Let me be very clear: I came in as a paying customer. I did not come in to have employees hold my body up for entertainment. When she started the polish, she asked to see the reference photo. I explained that I wanted the color placed in the same scattered, camouflage/dot-like pattern as the display. She said "no a line". After going back and forth AGAIN, she put one large dot in the middle of the nail and left it at that. Then she looked at the other technician and said I was "complicated." The other technician laughed and said, "She's very complicated." Apparently asking for the service I came in and am paying for makes me complicated. And then, because apparently the evening needed one final insult, I went to pay with my card. As I was filling out the tip, she asked, "What, no cash?" I explained that I had accidentally left my cash at home. She slammed the receipt down and coldly said, "Bye." I have absolutely no problem being told that a certain nail shape or design cannot be done. I have no problem with a technician having a professional opinion. What I do have a problem with is being insulted, mocked, laughed at, talked about directly in front of me, and made to feel uncomfortable for asking for what I wanted. There is a difference between being a professional and simply being good at doing nails. A professional knows how to treat people. I have never been treated this poorly in a salon. She was compassionate, responsive and sincere when I contacted her about correcting another person's work and all through our contact, up until our last texting. Our conversations made me feel taken care of and in good hands. The photos and reviews on her website are (mostly) great. She told me she does more corrections than initial liners. After two sessions with her I am sorry to say that she has the best of intentions but, in my case, did a very bad job. She didn't listen to me - twice - when I told her the liner wasn't even. (I showed her a picture from her own website as an example of what I would like. It's the picture below mine.) I went to her for a correction and to add the top liner. The bottom liner now looks worse than the original issue - and this is after the second session touchup that should have finished the corrections on the bottom. In our texting back and forth regarding this she said she could not understand why I came at her with such anger. She was right. I am angry. She also said that I accepted the results after looking in the mirror. She's right again - but ONLY AFTER TELLING HER THE BOTTOM WASN'T EVEN - BOTH SESSIONS - BUT BEING REASSURED BY HER THAT IT WAS AND IT WOULD EVEN OUT. It never looked right to me. I texted her twice after the second session about it not being even and she told it looked great and that I had to trust the process. I finally send her the "angry" text and told her I am getting a saline removal procedure to try to fix what she did and request a partial refund since the top line is OK. She responded that she offered a third session to fix this and that since I was so unhappy we should just part ways. I would not give her a third try after the second fail.
