Not all the staff but some of them, gave people an awful experience. Friday night June 24th one of the bartenders at the bar was screaming at a customer because a credit card was declined, that happens many times a day at every restaurant in Marina or SF and employees ARE INSTRUCTED to just let the customer know and the customer will solve it, but no, this employees do scream at customers who are tipping them to let them know the card is not working, then we wrote at the merchant copy receipt "you should have manners" and another employee, long hair, glasses and face mask, 45 years old we guessed, started doing the same and "fuck you" and trying to start a fight, off course he feels he is a bad guy and is safe cause security guards are everywhere. Plus that at the middle of the night a girl went up on top of a high table, which is inappropriate, the security guard instead of using the force properly keeping her safe, helping her to go back to the floor, decided to grab her like he is doing a Wrestling throw, that was awful, abusive, and it seems to be the culture that the staff is adopting. Hopefully owners or managers read this and do something about it. The staff behavior is unacceptable. San Francisco is not like this. Marina is not like this. read more

Super cute inside. I brought my Brazilian friend in and he felt like he was transported out of America and into a very chic European bar. Love the boys behind the bar, Julian & Scottie. Matrix 2.0? The makeover with brighter, more colorful, and more modern decor was well done. At its heart, it's just a bar in the Marina (ok, Cow Hollow). Don't expect a cocktail menu, but the pours were very generous, especially for the price, and my Greyhound was quite tasty. Gone are the fire pits of the Matrix, replaced by three sets of couch areas and a long high top table, which along with the bar take up most of the new foot print (the back area is no more, apparently replaced by bathrooms). If you can snag a couch with friends, it's a great set-up. I wouldn't say relaxing given the vibe, but perfect for settling in as you alternate rounds. The best addition is the DJ. While there was a wall of records behind him, he wasn't actually spinning any. Big points for mashing up I Wanna Dance With Somebody with the beat from We Found Love. Other choices included Beyoncé and Cardi B, which got a few solo folks dancing but it's certainly not a bar to go get your dance on. Saturday around midnight was packed, but not so much that you couldn't find a place and still manage to talk. It's pretty impossible to get seating, so people usually wind up bartering around to get extra stools from other tables. For the drinks, the 75 cal marg and the fit bunny are both quite good. For food, the hummus and cheese plate are both alright. I don't recommend their coffee + alcohol drink as it's incredibly strong and tastes nothing like coffee. read more

Your phones and wallets will get stolen here. I came here on Saturday night with a group of friends. We started the night at Comet Club around the corner and left after witnessing a group of males stealing phones out of girls' purses. The same group of 8-10 males showed up at White Rabbit about 20 minutes later, dispersed into the crowd, and started stealing again. A group of them would stand at the bar while a few would work the room. When something was stolen they would walk back to their friends and hand off the stolen phone / wallet to their accomplises at the bar. We also saw one guy from the group of thieves begin dancing with a girl in the middle of the crowd and after 10-15 seconds slip his hand into her purse. At one point, my friend caught one of them trying to take her wallet out of her purse (which she was wearing). I stepped outside to alert the bouncer about what was happening and he seemed to be completely aware of it. I think they're all in on it. read more

White Rabbit is the old Matrix's new and improved 2nd removed cousin. If anthropologie was a bar, it'd look like this place. Posh rugs and furniture, snazzy cocktails, and an intimate vibe for you and your +1(s) as well as lots of natural light. Not sure how this place turns up at night, but can't imagine it gets too cray given the decor and feel of a low-key lounge. I wasn't totally impressed with my 14 carrot gold or Mad hatter and wished they had been a little more spirit forward (main reason I'm giving 3 stars), although I'd give an A+ for the creative names. The ambience is totally worth checking out at least once, and if you used to frequent the Matrix then you've gotta get a first hand look at how much the place has changed. I do not know what is worse. I came in thinking there was a bar playing a bit more hip hop bc Anderson pakk was playing. I left with hurt ears anger from poor treatment and it wasn't even music I liked. Sf venue owners and djs really gotta realize sf is not a house music only city. Musically catering to the techies is killing sf night life entirely. If you thought the anger was just from the repetitive house music there's a creepy guy there named Christopher with curly hair that says he's management for a "vip section" (neither me or my girlfriend saw it ) who tried to give my girlfriend cocaine and tried to take her to "vip" without me. Whoever thought it was OK to give Christopher a management position must not like their business. Was here for my third time tonight. You know I think it's a nice casual bar to go. Don't count on dressing up to receive attention from any men. It's a bit sleazy, if anything. Long story short, there isn't the best of customer service once you step outside of the bar when it gets too hot. You quite literally get asked to leave the property when you're trying to cool off. Wow why does this place have two stars on Yelp? First - their drinks are strong but also the bartender is SUPER nice and will adjust your drink to your liking. The food - especially the sliders - is really good, cheap, and light! There was an order mistake and our server gave us a free plate of bites because of it. During COVID review: This place is pretty great to be completely honest - great food selection (appetizers mainly, don't expect full course meals) and great drink/cocktail selection. The barista and the other server is very professional and serve to make your experience good (so long as you're not a rude customer, i.e. karens). The barista makes very good drinks and if something isn't to your taste, he will gladly change it to make your experience/drink even better. Also open late night (until 12) so would definitely recommend. This place is pretty popular at night - the music can be a little loud, but not extremely overbearing - unless you're right in front of the speaker, you can typically hear other people you're talking to. ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD! I've lived in the city for almost 2 years and have been out in the marina 50+ times. This is the first time I've been to this bar specifically. It was really crowded and cramped. I always bring a purse when I go out and make sure that it's crossbody and zipped. I didn't realize until I was outside of the bar that my wallet was not in my purse anymore. Credit cards, my license, cash, etc. was stolen. When I asked one of the bouncers if he could help me find my wallet/let me back in and help me look for it he was incredibly unhelpful, unsympathetic and rude. He said sorry I can't help you, I have to let people in. I was with my friend, her boyfriend, and other friends. They talked with a different bouncer for 5 minutes and I finally was able to get back in. Unfortunately couldn't find my wallet, it was way too crowded, so I was out of luck. I was baffled overall with the treatment I received from this bar. As a young woman I was shaken by this experience, I will definitely not go back to this bar and wanted to make other people aware that pickpocketing is real even if you have your valuables zipped up and near you, watch out!!! read more

Really cool venue, and it's new(ish)! The great thing about this place... its next to a bunch of other places. The drinks were pretty good. The crowds are what you would expect in the marina district. Young 20 something's everywhere trying to catch Uber rides home. There was no cover for entry on a Saturday which was nice. There is a DJ spinning classic hip hop and r&b. A pretty rad punch bowl that serves up to 8 people... in a word, this place is "Clutch!" If you're ever in the area late night I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. Only negatives are how difficult it might be to find parking. BEWARE of coming to this bar and having your items stolen and having nobody care! I wasn't aware of earlier posts warning of theft when a group of us came here earlier this month. I was there for about 20 min when I noticed my purse was unbuckled and my phone was gone. I drove back 45 min the following day since nobody answers the phone and only takes messages.I spoke to an employees and thought there might be a chance it was turned in and I made a mistake about it being stolen. The answer I got was no phone and probably things stolen because it happens all the time! They never took my name in case it was found or mentioned they would alert staff of the problem! I have left messages again at White Rabbit after I read past reviews since I wasn't aware of it when I walked in the next day. It has been two weeks and no call back! I've submitted a complaint to the corporate office ,Plumpjack Group and still no response! It is obvious they could care less! White Rabbit is part of a huge group of properties with bars, hotels and wineries. NO EXCUSE for poor customer service!!!!! It is apparent that you don't care about your patrons.
