Great cocktails and live jazz! Their menu changes seasonally every few months. I love their cocktails. Recently, they had a floral and fruit section. I thoroughly enjoyed my Pink Panther cocktail (peaches, fresh citrus, aperol, and vodka.) The ambiance is giving dark academia--love the bookshelves, elevated platforms, and lush leather couches. Every now and then, the lights tim (good for dates), but there's also plenty of girls' groups and guys' nights out here. There's a fun pool table in the back (need to pay to use.) It's nicer than the pool tables at most bars I've been to in SF. Service is pretty good, depending on who's there. read more

Absolutely disgusting. It was 1:48AM and the security guard and 1 of the bartenders were disgustingly disrespectful saying that is was 2AM and we needed to leave our drinks as is and leave. There were multiple people still in the bar and we told them we would finish our drink and be out by 2AM, the security guard then proceeded to try and take a video of picture of us. I sat at the bar before going to dinner and service was great! Friendly staff and good vibes.

It's a fun spot. The staff behind the bar gets overwhelmed with people, saw 4 people leave cause no one took their order. The card system on the other hand, what a dumb system. They keep ur card if you want to keep the tap open. The guy ended up giving me my card AND another persons card. I did not notice until i was 2 blocks down. Almost broke the card and threw it away. But i ended up walking back and giving it to them. Super unprofessional, and saw a girl describing her card color cause they cant find it. Have been to bigger and busier places, they can be more efficient when it comes to that. Pretty clean over all. You can barely hear the music when busy. Band Feels pointless. read more

Sleek, sophisticated bar/lounge in the Marina with soft, sexy lighting & several seating areas. They have a pool table area which is $32 per hour. Live jazz band starts at 9PM. I usually prefer to sit at the bar & we arrived around 8:30 & there was a lot of seating available because there were other events going on (Pride Weekend) because they're usually pretty busy. I've had their mojitos & champagne cocktails before but wasn't sure when I was in the mood for so the bartender suggested a classic Cosmopolitan. He whipped it up while my date was deciding on his drink & it was excellent. My date ordered a whiskey & honey cocktail (forgot what it was called) & he liked it. Promising replacement to Green + Greenough. Very eclectic decoration, friendly staff and spacious pool table area. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I believe our servers name was Megan? Drinks are not cheap but consistent with high end establishments in the area. They're open Monday - Friday from 5 pm and have live jazz performances nightly which is a huge addition to the neighborhood consisting of mostly restaurants and bars. Their cocktail menu is very original and creative. Once the band arrives it's quite loud so private conversations become pretty tough. The only piece that grinder my gears was that to use the pool table you're charged something like $8 per FIFTEEN minutes which is obscene. read more

Checked this bar out while in the area. When we arrived there was barely anyone there but after an hr it was packed. There's a nice comfy seating area and in the back is a pool table with high top tables and seating. Waitress was attentive and bartenders were pretty quick with drinks. Cocktails were fairly standard in options. Drinks were well balanced and tasted good. I had the spicy margarita, vodka gimlet, and we tried the espresso martini and Manhattan. Really rude bartender on Saturday night (yesterday 02/15/2025). Very nasty to me and my friends. He was unprofessional and dismissive of us. Kept ignoring us and when we finally got him to serve us, he did it with an attitude. The nerve of the guy to pour out our drinks AFTER we paid for it just because he didn't like the tip. He deserved NO tip in the first place. Totally disgusting behavior. TLDR: Geelou staff 1) is racist, 2) disrespectful/entitled (to a level I've never seen before), 3) makes women uncomfortable Let me start by saying I've never written a Yelp review before. Most establishments I enjoy are already rated well, and I've never disliked an establishment before enough to write a poor review. But the service I witnessed at Geelou was ridiculous. I'd have felt that I neglected my duty as a responsible, contributing citizen if I had not written this review to warn others of Geelou's staff behavior. Let me also add that this didn't even happen to me; I was just an onlooker-- yet I still feel so compelled to write this review. 1. A group of friends bought a round of drinks for themselves, which seemed like a large purchase-- something that's favorable to the business, especially on a quiet night like this. When the bartender picked up the receipt, he immediately came back and started screaming at one of the girls who ordered it-- I believe he was criticizing the size of the tip (which is unhinged). One of the other people in the group placed another order for drinks. After the bartender makes the drink, I see the friend grab them. But on his way to retrieve the drinks, the bouncer kicks him out for seemingly no reason. When the guy signaled his other friends from outside to pick up the drinks, the bartender immediately dumped them all out in front of the group--- in a weak display of power. 2. The friend who was kicked out seemed to be a native of India, living in San Francisco for work. I overheard the bouncer making fun of his accent and making taunts about India. At one point, the bouncer explicitly said, "I can't understand what you're saying." (This guy spoke perfectly clear English, and I could hear him pleading not to have his drinks dumped from across the bar). Again, this is unbelievable. 3. Here's the kicker, though: the male staff touches women and makes them uncomfortable. If having male bar tenders aggressively screaming at female patrons isn't bad enough, some of the servers were quite handsy with the women in the group when serving them (and making them very visibly uncomfortable). There's no reason a server needs to hug a patron when handing her a drink (this happened multiple times with different male servers). read more

The bartender acted like serving drinks was a huge inconvenience, when asked about the menu. One of the bartenders even poured my friend's drink out right in front of him because he was not happy with the tip. When I came in I was greeted wonderfully at the door the worker there was very hospitable and kind, But in contrast to inside trying to get served was absolutely horrible and frustrating. glass was on the floor until security came the front and swept it up when they almost stepped on it. There was no cover at the door, when you enter they have ample space for large groups on the right side. It was packed on a Saturday evening but quietened down around 10:30 pm. The bar was busy that night and it took a while to get a drink but the Espresso Martini was totally worth the wait! Do try it, one of the best I've had in a while. They have a pool table and some open seating towards the back. Everyone was very friendly and mingling around while enjoying the music. I really liked the band playing. This is the busiest bar in the marina and rightfully so. The bartenders know how to make GOOD F'ING DRINKS and they're always so nice. As a female, I've had every single bar tender here have my back and protect me from sketchy men, I've watched them call Ubers (using their own money) for men and women who were too drunk to get themselves home, and they'll treat everyone well as long as you're not being an asshole to them or to other bar patrons.
