The dentists are fantastic, but the billing area lacks communication. I have insurance and paid my deductible and thought I was all caught up. I never received a bill from them saying I owed anything. Then, five months later, I received an overdue bill stating I needed to pay $xxx.xx in 14 days to avoid being sent to collections. I called them one day later and was told it had already been sent to collections. The only "apology" I received was, "Well, I guess our system sent it a little early (ha ha ha)." You will have to contact the collection company about that. Also, since your account was sent to collections, you are no longer eligible for our services. Are there any other concerns you would like to discuss about any other patient? Being laughed at because their system wasn't working correctly, and then instead of trying to work with me, just saying I'm no longer a patient and asking if I want to discuss any other patients, is a rude and unprofessional way to do business. To top it all off, when I asked for my records, they refused. They said that all patient records are their property and cannot be removed or copied from the facility. Phenomenal place! Got me in within two days. Same day root canal and crown. Not a bad price at all. They worked with my work schedule. They worked through their own lunch to make sure I was able to be taken care of same day rathe than having to be in pain longer. Highly recommend them!! read more

Place is full of rude individuals and the business is the most scummy business I have ever had to work with. Went in for a routine check up, no cleaning was done, just X-rays that they told me insurance covered. About 3 months later I have a collection because my insurance indeed did not cover what ever they did. Not only did they lie about my insurance but they didn't even give a crap to call before the bill was sent to collections. They also charge way to much for any type of service. I guess I should have looked at the reviews before I came here. I just moved here and was looking for a new dental clinic, and thought this place looked nice. Well....I thought wrong. Let's dive into my experience here: I had an appointment for 2PM and arrived just a bit earlier. I was told to fill out paperwork that I had already filled out prior to arriving through their text system. The desk attendant didn't even check the system to see if the information was already provided. While I was waiting, several people walked in and I could hear the desk attendants confirming their home addresses out loud where everyone in the lobby could hear. Anyways this wasn't even the main issue. I was finally seen around 2:45. I was moved to a cubicle-type room where I waited another hour. Around 3:45 someone came and did my x-rays and then the doctor came about 30 minutes later. I came in for a routine teeth cleaning that is covered through my insurance with a $0 copay. After my x-rays were completed, the person who did the x-rays came back and said it would be around $330 for the visit today. I was really confused, but didn't say anything....yet. I then was told I needed to wait for the hygienist who would be available at 5pm as she had others to do. The hygienist comes and takes me to another cubicle-like room and she starts to bring boxes of fluoride, medical mouthwash, a Waterpik, and an Electric Toothbrush. I told her that I didn't need all of those items and she informed me I did because I had gingivitis. I told her that I had a Waterpik and Electric toothbrush at home and she took it off my bill, which brought it down to $130. After looking online, the mouthwash and fluoride combined only costed $30, so I was up-charged $100 and then almost sold $200 in items I did not ask for. The funny thing is, they actually surveyed me while I was waiting and asked what is most important to me and I clearly stated "cost". She cleaned my teeth and I was finally out by 5:45 and I paid the $130 because I was just ready to get out. In summary, the visits are long (3 hours and 45 minutes for my visit), they will try to rack up your bill (it was only supposed to be $0!!), and the survey they ask you clearly isn't followed. I'm due for another visit at the end of July, however, I will be looking elsewhere. Best of luck to this business. read more

I made an appointment on Monday the 10th for Wen. at 11:30 ask about my insurance they said they accepted it on my way to the appointment as I pulled into their parking lot at 11:00 they called wanted me to come in early I went into the office gave them my insurance was told they did not accept as of the first of the year I told them I just checked on Monday you said it was ok, I drove across town now will have to check around to find another dentist they don't seem to know what goes on. The front office staff is super friendly and attentive. They offer coffee and water too which is a major plus! If you have littles they also have a kids waiting area to the side with a TV and Netflix streaming! If it's not on just ask and they'll put whatever your littles want on. We waited maybe 15-20 mins tops including paperwork which is about normal. I can't recall the name of the Hygienist who worked with my son but her name was unique and started with an S. Anyhow, she was awesome with my son! She took her time to explain everything to him and even took the time to have conversations with him. My husband and I have appointments coming up within the next month and I'm so happy today went so great so I feel confident coming back. I will definitely be recommending. read more

Avoid at all costs...this was the worst dental service I've ever experienced. My appointment type was changed without my knowledge which really upset me. They've sent me multiple bills for wrong amounts and wrong services, and I literally had to be a go between for them and my insurance because they would not call my insurance provider, yet they (white river dental) were the ones billing my insurance incorrectly. White River Dental plays a lot of games trying to bill your insurance for anything and everything. The front office staff seem nice but if you contact them no one has any clue what is going on. They even tried to contact my insurance after being paid and asked if they could increase the cost??? When my insurance told them to take a hike, they sent me a bill too! There are much better and more honest dentists in town. Go to one of them and save yourself a lot of headaches. read more

I'll start with the good stuff. Dr. Srickland is pleasant, there are virtually no wait times and they are always able to get me in for an appointment when I call. The office is very clean and nice. Free coffee, nice referral program and friendly hygienists. The office manager however is a total nightmare to deal with. The final straw for me was the collections notice I received from Linda VanVolkenburgh notifying me my appointments had been cancelled and my account sent to collection. I quote,"you have continuously ignored my repeated request for payment". Unprofessional much? This isn't the first issue I have had with improper insurance billing from the office. I never received a bill for the $50 dollars I supposedly owed but I did have a receipt for the same day for a completely different amount. Turns out I never received a bill, nor did Linda ever bill my insurance company. I'm much too busy to have to continuously check my claims when I visit the dentist the ensure I'm being billed correctly or spending my time on the phone with a rude office manager arguing over money I don't owe. A root Canal. They did an implant a little over a year ago and did a great job. Today they did a root canal and crown. They did a great job. It took a little longer than I hoped but every mouth is different. I love the interaction of the staff, seems like a family atmosphere. I have read some of the negative comments on here and I just simply don't believe them. I went in for a routine cleaning and was informed the hygienist did not have time to perform my cleaning, I would have to return. When I called to reschedule the initial cleaning, the receptionist informed me instead of a normal cleaning, they decided it would be best if I did a deep cleaning. After the deep cleaning, the dr/dentist was called over and the hygienist started talking softly to him outside. He informed me he would like to take a look at my mouth again. My initial diagnosis went from 5 crowns and 2 cavities to a whopping 7 crowns. Skeptical, I went and to get a second opinion where I was told I did not need a deep cleaning, nor did I need crowns. I was shown on x-ray that I only had 3 small cavities to fill!! He was not sure where the other 4 cavities they claimed I had could be. He also informed me that my teeth surely did not need even one crown as the cavities were so small they were not anywhere near the root. Let alone 7!! I will never return here again! Please be very careful if you decide to go here... All they care about is making a quick buck at the expense of your body and bank account. read more

They will screw you every chance they get. I received a bill for $608, but I knew I didn't owe that as insurance had not yet paid. Then 2 days later, I get an EOB from insurance showing that they paid $802. WRD refused to reimbursement the difference of $194. The insurance lady was rude, yelling at me even though I remained calm. She said that they adjusted my account and that I should be happy that I was getting $46 instead of having to pay the $608. She even took the bill I had out of my hand and threw it across the table. Said she was going to go get the owner and dentist, Aaron Stickland. I said good because I wanted him to see how I was being treated. But she came back and said that he would not talk to me and that I needed to leave. I will take my business else where. read more

I originally called White River Dental to get a quote on a root canal and crown for #16, a bottom molar. I had been to another dentists earlier in the day and noticed their estimate is double what the standard fee is according to the dental fee schedule. WRD stated they could see me at 6 pm. I explained in detail that I only wanted a quote, that I had the proposed treatment plan estimate from the other dentist and I had faxed the information over to WRD. Besides the fact that I was miserable and my jaw was the size of Texas because of the abcess, they stated I would have to pay out of pocket for my visit because the insurance had already been billed. I already knew that!! I had already paid $65 OOP for the appointment with the other dentist for an X-ray. OMG $2,895.75 for ONE TOOTH!! Give me a break! I am not a stupid person, if you can't give me a quote for the exact same procedures from another dentist without charging me AGAIN then you obviously do not want my business!!....I totally wasted my time and gas going there. read more

Worst dental experience of my life. I went in to get a crown replaced. This is a routine procedure that should have taken about 90 minutes. No joke - I walked into White River Dental at 8:45 a.m. for my 9 a.m. appointment and I walked out at 2:15 p.m. The dental hygienist fitted me THREE TIMES with a porcelain crown and they all broke. One even shattered IN MY MOUTH. Finally, after I was gathering my stuff to leave, the dentist, Dr. Aaron Strickland, came in and fitted me a crown himself. Very unprofessional. Then, to make matters worse, Dr. Strickland offered me 10% off my bill for "all my troubles." He failed to communicate this to his front staff and they charged me the full amount. I was told I would have to speak to the office manager to get my bill adjusted. So far, I have called twice. I was told the first time that the office manager was out to lunch and the second time I was told she was out of the office. I honestly can't believe how badly I was treated by White River Dental. I feel obligated to write this review based on what others have experienced with their visits. I was looking for a dentist in Columbus. I scheduled a full mouth exam over the phone and stated I had some discomfort with a tooth. After having an xray on that tooth I was told that's all I was scheduled for. Giving the dentist credit, he nicely went on and did a quick visual on my teeth for problems anyways. He said I needed a root canal on the single tooth that was examined and it would take three hours and they could do it now(the same day). I put it off at this point because I was already skeptical and in distrust about the appointment type change and the assistant said I would have to reschedule for the full mouth exam and more xrays would be taken and I couldn't have that done on the same day. I read these reviews after my visit which motivated me to cancel my next appointment and find someone else up the street. It seems like changing appointment types is a common practice here to nickel and dime you for some extra $. read more
