My hometown diner! Through different owners, still one of my favorite places to eat. The ambience is "American diner". From East Coast to High Desert, small town in California... the same combination of comfort food that our Grandma's made. :) The service is authentic, friendly and not "forced". The sausage gravy is one of the best I've ever had! And coming from an Ozark raised person, that's high praise. Everytime I'm back home in Union, this is my breakfast place! Had a pleasant lunch with friends today soup sandwiches salad all served perfectly tasty and fresh. The waitress was very friendly offered to explain items on menu even brought one of us a sample of the soup that was on special to see if they wanted it before ordering. We were in town to watch our nephew umpire a college baseball game and thought we would check out a local spot. From the minute we walked in, this is the place. Friendly customers were fun as we exchanged chatter on the way to our booth. The place is so relaxing. Our waitress was fun and pleasant even at the end of the day. Food made fresh, coffee was hot not old, and it actually felt like we had been there before. They advertise a car show the first Saturday of every June and I am hoping my car will be ready. It may seem a bit out of the way but so worth it. Breakfast all day and my meat lovers omelette was perfect. My wife enjoyed a piece of fresh home made cherry pie, with lots of cherries. I stopped here on my way to the airport. It was a great choice. The food was really good I got a burger and a loaded baked potato the potato could've been more loaded but it was still good. The workers were really sweet and kind. It has an old timey feel and if you want a nice older dinner type feel but still a lil modern it's a good place to go read more

My wife and I decided to try a local spot in a town not far from our home. Located just 10 mines from interstate 44 about one hour West of St. Louis, this small cafe is great for a quick breakfast. While we were there multiple people came and went. Many local frequent the place located in the our town section of Union Missouri. Our breakfast was a mix of regular menu items and a Senior menu item. My wife had the two eggs, two meat and has brown plate with a giant pancake and toast. She was very happy with it. I had the Senior plate, smaller portions to save money, but more than enough for a smaller appetite. But just in case I added the gravy and biscuits. We opted for Diet Pepsi for our drinks. Stepping into the White Rose is like stepping back in time. Fun, nostalgic decor, complete with a juke box and an old time phone booth...sorry I didn't get a pic of the phone booth. We received friendly, efficient service from Allysa. Good simple food at a reasonable price. Breakfast is served all day, with a lunch & dinner menu. No adult beverages here. Everyone in our group enjoyed their choices, from omelette to wraps, to chopped steak dinner. Baked potato wasn't quite done, but otherwise no complaints. read more

We came in on a Tuesday evening. It seems like they might not be fully staffed. The kitchen was noisy but no food was coming out. Between 5:00-5:30 the restaurant went from slow to full. Our orders took over 45 mins to come out. We don't get our meals at the same time which was upsetting because I was left to eat alone as my family had already had their meals and ate before mine even came out. Whatever it is you'd expect, go ahead and take a look at some pics of the inside or the outside or the menu or food or whatever to start forming some sort of impression of this place, and whatever it is you would expect, I think it will meet your expectations. Except somehow much more crowded than you would expect - maybe it's much better than I experienced, maybe there are a lot more gross people out there than I thought, maybe it's some sort of mass mind-control device summoning people to it, perhaps as a distraction for some sort of secret society performing rituals of questionable morality and legality in the building next door, I dunno.... Kinda doubt that last one, it's pretty far out there. read more

Had breakfast at this little diner. The egg scrambler on a biscuit with gravy was decent, with the gravy as the selling point. Our waitress was very nice and helpful to our group of 6, especially with two young and curious and rambunctious lads. The decor is homey and vintage with some nice jukeboxes. I absolutely hated having to sit in the smoking section - can't wait until those are a thing of the past. I've only been once, so this is not a review born of experience, but I wouldn't recommend the place as exceptional or worth going out of your way for. I do appreciate the good service. White Rose is a highly recommended place. Of course, it's busy at times but that's due to the popularity of our community. I come here very often with my grandfather. When he walks in the door they have his coffee and small mt dew ready. They know his name and his order. The workers there are phenomenal and the food is spectacular.
