Walked around, the rooms looked like luxury dorms. Doors are locked/unlock using code keypad. You have to book your room online and get your door code via email. No thanks. We moved our car out of the dirty parking lot... This is not a hotel, not an inn. No in person service at all.

It is still unfinished, under construction and cheaply done and per older reviews it has been in this state for over a year. There is NO elevator. because there's a gaping hole where it should be, and many stairs and levels. Minimal comforts in the room, two towels for the entire stay. (And remember no desk to request more) No closet to hang clothes, so few furnishings there was no where to put our belongings besides the floor or bed. There are undoubtedly beautiful views of Mt. Hood if your room is facing that direction and that's probably the only thing that salvaged this stay. Listen to the negative reviews and stay elsewhere until this company works on finishing this and rebranding it.

I will say the service and amenities offered seem to be gradually declining, and it is getting busier to the point of feeling crowded and stressful to be at. The hotel used to provide coffee service. They took that away...so now, if you stay in the bunk rooms or the schoolhouse rooms, there's usually a crowd trying to make their own coffee in the morning, and only one hot water kettle (I believe there used to be two). They also seemed to have removed the toaster oven, and the staff were confused and were not able to help with locating one to use. Also no general dishes to use so you should bring your own if you want to eat anything of your own and avoid paying top dollar at the in house cafe. These are small things, but I believe for the price some more basic amenities should be offered. It would make the stay overall more pleasant and convenient, and feel like more of a hotel than a chaotic hostel. I will also note that a large group was staying in the bunk rooms during our stay and they were quite loud (and inebriated) and spreading their stuff into every corner (they had multiple coolers and even camping chairs set up in the common area of the bunk rooms). Obviously the staff can only do so much about this, but it does impact the value to have a big group partying, being loud, and generally not conscientious of the space they are using. My TLDR would be to avoid this place on weekends completely, unless you have the funds to stay in one of the cabin rooms which are more private.

We sent dozens of requests to book a room. When they finally responded they would not send over any email confirmation to confirm our stay. They informed us we were confirmed, and we never heard from them again. The dates came and went, and our room was never booked. It's hard to add the details of the room into the review because the rooms are fine and well apportioned, but the location and access to the outdoors is some of the best in the state. My two small dogs may have had an even better time than I did. Perfect for an active getaway or a true hunker down like we did this month. Easy walk or bike to downtown and waterfront park. Despite not really needing a car to explore during our stay, there is ample, well-lit parking available. We always felt safe. It is obvious that this property prides itself on customer service. They were very accommodating to my request for a late check-out because my son's windsurfing lesson was delayed due to wind conditions. We appreciated their flexibility and understanding very much. Our room and the entire property were immaculately clean. The hallways were wide and well-lit. Our bathroom and sleeping area were spotless and bright. The bathroom was well-stocked with towels and toiletries. The beds, pillows, and linens were super comfortable. The breakfast area was also neat and clean. There is an indoor pool and hot tub, as well as a gym, water bottle filling station, and small market. The daily free breakfast had a wide, varied selection, and the food was delicious - somehow so much more so than the usual free hotel breakfast. The afternoon's warm cookies were plentiful. One afternoon, there was even a beautiful bowl of fresh cherries offered. The hotel itself was quiet, but the traffic on the nearby highway was loud at night. However, the hotel supplies free earplugs and white noise making fans to help you sleep. The staff seems to think of everything to make their guests feel at home!
