Only problem was the smell. The entry reeked of this horrendous garbage odor. Like deep in the subfloor. Awful. And the other random sewage like smell appeared to come from the a/c split. We stayed 1 night and found everything we needed. The location is convenient- White Salmon is a small town vibe, close to Hood River. If you are looking for a quiet get away, this is a fun place to stay. Everything was just like the photos, communication was great and we enjoyed the room. There was some early evening music from an adjacent restaurant that we heard, but it did stop by 8 pm. Pretty views from the rooftop suite. read more

Looking for a place to stay. When I called to get a quote for a night stay, I was told there is a charge for cleaning fee. After I parked in its underground dirty parking lot, wr couldn't find the lobby/front desk to check-in.... because there us no hotel lobby, no hotel clerk, no hotel front desk. Walked around, the rooms looked like luxury dorms. Doors are locked/unlock using code keypad. You have to book your room online and get your door code via email. No thanks. We moved our car out of the dirty parking lot... This is not a hotel, not an inn. No in person service at all. read more

This is NOT A HOTEL. These are furnished apartments for short term rent with NO amenities or services. It is deceptive and deceitful to call this a hotel. It is still unfinished, under construction and cheaply done and per older reviews it has been in this state for over a year. There is NO elevator. because there's a gaping hole where it should be, and many stairs and levels. Minimal comforts in the room, two towels for the entire stay. (And remember no desk to request more) No closet to hang clothes, so few furnishings there was no where to put our belongings besides the floor or bed. There are undoubtedly beautiful views of Mt. Hood if your room is facing that direction and that's probably the only thing that salvaged this stay. Listen to the negative reviews and stay elsewhere until this company works on finishing this and rebranding it. read more

White Salmon is an unsung gem - shhhhhhh - don't tell anybody! Across the river from the burgeoning community of Hood River, White Salmon is the MUCH smaller, quiet, charming town. The Hotel Iconica is a bit between a "hotel" and a collection of vacation rentals. We found it practically perfect - quiet, had exactly everything we needed, and it offers expansive views of Mt. Hood. Downstairs is a great little winery that was open until 9:00 PM - it becomes a locals' place, for the most part, after about 7:00 PM. And yes, there's no front desk and the exterior hallways are confusing, but the signage was fine. Once you find your room it is easy to navigate. read more

Amazing property. Our suite was immaculate, beautifully decorated, with all the amenities you could want. Walking distance to fun restaurants and breweries and wine tasting rooms. The wine bar in our building was a pleasant surprise, good wine and fun owner. Meet some interesting people seating around the firepit. Absolutely loved my stay here. Super easy to book. They texted me all the info. Room 6 has an epic view . So many good experiences to be had. I loved waking up to it each morning to see Mt. hood . The yoga studio is next door. I took a sunrise morning class with shana. She is fantastic if you want to take class. For lunch I recommend, Everybody's brewing. I got the vegan nachos, and sweet potato burrito. This town is so cute. I'd come back in a heartbeat and stay here again. read more

The stay here was perfect for us. After rafting with River Drivers, it was the perfect location to come back to, shower in our apartment and within walking distance to having dinner. While you have the impression of a hotel, the information provided to enter the apartment was very informative and no problems entering. We were close to restaurants, bars and a bakery for food and drinks. The place was decorated in modern and comfortable design, spacious and accommodating for us. The upper floor has a common area that allowed sitting and views of Mt. Hood while drinking coffee in the morning. We would definitely stay there again! read more

We rented Unit 16 (honeymoon penthouse) and loved it. The furnishings and finishes are simple to match the modern style of the architecture (I believe that's why there isn't molding as somebody complained about in an earlier review - it's contemporary ). Enrique was super responsive and accommodating. And, there is an elevator now! Sure, it's not your standard hotel with a lobby and services but we found it well stocked with towels, kitchen supplies etc., very easy to access, easy parking etc. Four other couples rented two bedroom units and found them to be nice as well. The only complaint stemmed from what seemed to be a pricing inequity between units. Unit 30 (2 bdrm), which has a view (well, has a view if it's clear!) was significantly more expensive than Unit 4 (2 bdrm) yet it wasn't as big or as nice. I definitely look forward to more stays at Hotel Iconica! read more

Location and convenience is great! Unfortunately the finishes (or lack thereof) are pretty bad in the rooms. No trim/casing, most doorknobs are loose, poor drywall finishes, unthoughtful decor, no full length mirrors (only one mirror in the unit), lack of airflow in bedrooms (only ac is in common areas), we had 7 paper towels on the roll and 2 single Kleenex in the box. Even the dishwasher wasn't even installed fully, the whole thing tipped forward when you open the door! Clear the room wasn't cleaned before arrival, bathroom had long black hairs in the shower (gross!). Also no elevators so beware. For a "Hotel", it's very below expectations. This is essentially a Motel with no service desk or house keeping. Has a long way to go before we'd revisit. read more

View is amazing! We had a Mountain View room and I would highly recommend. Close walk to restaurants in the quaint town of White Salmon. Even a wine bar downstairs that had live music one of the evenings we stayed. It was a nice change from the usual hotel. Very modern and brand new. read more

I agree with Mike. While we knew we were on the bottom floor, we didn't realize you are either in a cave or everyone can see you. Very unfinished, literally the door is not straight you can see light coming through the top and hear everything. Yet, they painted the door windows black. No place to put your things in the bathroom around the sink. While they call it finished, it is not. I wouldn't waste your money. read more

The place is not finished. It felt like a model home. Unfortunately, It looked much nicer in the photos. We stayed in the "penthouse", which is actually just a room on the top floor (no elevator) that is slightly larger than the other rooms not on the top floor. I wouldn't call any of the rooms on the top floor a penthouse. It just sets the wrong expectation. We booked two nights but decided to leave after one. As they have recently opened, they are probably trying the best they can. I wish them the best of luck! read more

I had high hopes but they were not met. The room was hard and cold, with cheap finishes and furnishings. To the south is a construction zone and there is virtually NO parking. I had to park 100 yards away and drag my bags through the street. There are many more better options around White Salmon and Hood River. read more
