Would have loved to have tea! Maybe on the next booking. Everything is clean. Their shampoo and body wash smell like luxury and not to mention their heated bathroom floors. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Make sure if you have a lot of luggage that you can carry it all up stairs. Parking was easy. For me the bed was a too stiff but beside that this place is perfection.

The Retreat's massive original beams are truly something to behold. Finishes are stunning, yet have an old-world vibe, reminiscent of a European stone inn, but with high-end, classy finishes and elite appliances. We have fond memories of this space when it was formerly a quaint micro brewery; now we're staying in the converted brew works that is ideally located in the heart of Hood River. If you're not familiar with this town, you will be equally blown away by the sensational geology and twin volcanos separated by the Gorge itself. The owners are deserving of world-class design and construction awards and for this phenomenal lodge. Combined with their concierge level of service, Horsefeathers is a true gem.

The restaurant had a varied, mouthwatering menu and the service was excellent. The rooms had an old world feel to them, but were mostly refurbished and updated. What we loved most was the varied gallery of paintings on walls on each floor and the old-fashioned lever driven elevator that was run by the staff. The views and the grounds were exquisite with a waterfall cascading by a lookout. An unusual and historic landmark hotel that's definitely worth a visit.

If I could give Cheyanna and the Columbia Gorge Hotel more than 5 stars, I would…read more From the moment we met Cheyanna at a bridal show over a year before our wedding, we knew there was something special about her. That event is what ultimately sold us on the Columbia Gorge Hotel. Over the following year, she became so much more than a coordinator. She became our guide, problem solver, peacekeeper, a trusted expert and dear friend. At the Behind the Veil event (another important show she put on that helped us prep) we got to see her vision in action. We fell in love with the décor, connected with vendors she recommended, and even hired the DJ and florals she brought in. That was when we realized she truly knows her craft inside and out. What sets Cheyanna apart is her ability to stay calm no matter what is happening. She is cool, collected, and somehow sees things no one else notices. She understands the flow of a wedding better than anyone. Whether it was making me a garter five minutes before the garter toss, helping navigate a seating chart with our large Mexican family, coordinating last-minute changes, or ensuring every detail was handled, she made everything feel effortless. She thought of things we never would have considered, including having a Spanish-speaking team member available so our families could fully understand and enjoy the experience. She helped us bring our vision to life, from karaoke and a dance party in the benson ballroom to honoring the people who helped us make our hotel buyout dream possible. The entire wedding weekend was magical. The welcome reception, the setup and cleanup crews, the incredible food, I made a comment about mexican mole and she had it whipped up and made deliciously by the chefs!! A true artist paying attention to the littlest details. The late checkout accommodations, and even personally helping return forgotten items after the wedding all demonstrated a level of care that went far beyond what we ever expected. Our budget didn't allow for many of the traditional wedding extras, but Cheyanna never made us feel limited. Instead, she found creative ways to make our dreams come true. She worked with us to create a celebration that reflected both sides of our Mexican-American family, accommodated dietary preferences, coordinated changing areas, managed countless last-minute requests, and made everyone feel welcome. Most importantly, she helped create a wedding that felt authentic to us. We chose to step outside some traditions and celebrate our faith and love in a way that felt right for our family. The beauty of the Columbia Gorge, surrounded by nature and the people we love most, created something truly unforgettable. We genuinely felt blessed throughout the entire weekend. Cheyanna is a master of her craft. If you're looking for someone who can roll with the punches, solve problems before you even know they exist, and make you feel completely taken care of, she is the person you want by your side. Professionally and personally. I made a new life long friend. We cannot recommend Cheyanna and the Columbia Gorge Hotel highly enough. Our wedding exceeded every expectation, and we will be grateful for her forever.

The…read morewebsite talks about a breakfast, but it's really just some danish and "whole fruit" like apples. Etc. Fortunately they provided an in room coffee maker and coffee with filters. The room (The Gorge Room) was ok, and had a Murphy bed (as advertised), but it sure felt like a full not a queen size. Very small. Also, again as advertised, the bathroom for this room is down the hall. This wasn't a problem and we expected it (again, as advertised). However, upon getting into the shower, both the diverter handle and water pressure/temp handle came right off! Fortunately, I was able to get both back into the slots internally and take showers, but that should definitely be fixed/replaced. Overall this is a very old property with lots of charming design and decor. Just be aware that this may come with challenges, and older reviews make it sound better than it is. It certainly isn't living up to its older reputation. It is also largely an unstaffed property. I did see a lady working in back and spoke to her briefly, but other than that, no one.

I overheard other guests saying that breakfast was no longer provided, even though it is advertised as a b&b. This didn't affect me personally, but I did find that to be misleading. There were signs saying that beer and wine were available if the innkeeper was in, but we were around most of the evening and didn't see any offerings. Additionally, the hot tub was closed. Check-in was relatively easy, the room was as presented. The porch was nice to relax on. Not a bad stay, just feel that it could have been more personalized and up to the description.

The lodge sits on a 72 acre orchard, which also includes some farm lands that houses a couple of Alpaca and a bunch of sheep's. There were the three of us for 4th of July weekend and we booked the Mt. Hood room, and the River room. Both rooms are next to each other and had a patio with a picturesque view of Mount Hood. Both rooms had very comfortable beds, and all the amenities you need. Coffee, WiFi, towel, popcorn, glassware, shower amenities, and the best of all, heated floors in the bathrooms! Price per night rate comes with breakfast, and let me tell you! Breakfast was AMAZING! I actually was looking forward to breakfast every morning. It wasn't just the same skimpy toast, eggs and bacon kind of breakfast, but it was a nutritious and filling breakfast menu that changes every morning! It definitely filled me up until dinner time! Overall I recommend this place if you want a gorgeous, serene, and picturesque getaway! I felt at peace when I returned home. PS: Oscar the farm cat! Very friendly and will greet you every morning!

Sakura Ridge provided a very comfortable stay with everything that we needed to unplug and relax. There were many small details that we appreciated- a beautifully designed and very clean room, comfortable bed and sheets, heated floors, snacks and drinks in the common area (hot cocoa, tea, soda, popcorn), and guidebooks, cookbooks, and maps for guests. The breakfasts were delicious and carefully prepared by Deanna. We had fresh lamb sausage, cherry tomato and goat cheese tart, scrambled eggs with chives, and sorrel salad. The second day, we had a cream cheese omelette, ham wrapped asparagus, and fresh blueberry scone. Deanna also made a berry smoothie both mornings. John was very kind and taught my husband how to feed their lambs on the second morning. We met him at 8am and my husband got to feed 3 lambs at one time! I have to say, it was a unique and fun experience. We stayed in the Orchard Room, which was great. It was built as an addition in 2007, so it has a separate entrance and felt very private. The bathroom was well appointed with a marble walk-in shower and soaking tub. We had a private balcony overlooking the chickens and lambs on the farm, and it offered an AMAZING view of Mt. Hood. One of the best things about Sakura Ridge is that it's situated on a farm with animals (lambs and chickens) and fruits (pears, apples, peaches, plums, and berries) and vegetables. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return in the summer.
