We stopped by for a weekend brunch. We ordered Poutine, Charred Tomato & Spinach Benedict and a Prawn & Avocado Bowl. The latter two dishes were nicely done; however, the Poutine was kinda "meh". The gravy was more like a thin and runny sauce rather than a gravy. We've had better poutine at Denny's, and even their poutine isn't all that great. It's just convenient when my daughter has a poutine craving and we aren't close to any specialty poutine shops. Also, the service was incredibly slow on this day. It's not the first time that this has happened either. Beginning to think that maybe we should try going to a different location of White Spot, but this one is really the most convenient location for us, especially as the one at Park Royal will be closing next month. Really don't care to have to drive over to Lonsdale Ave. though for White Spot. Might still give this location another try but...definitely not in a rush to come back here. Service: Could have been better Parking: Plentiful and free Location: 1226 Marine Drive #107, North Vancouver, BC

The legendary burger and fries- because I'm two days early for the turkey dinner special- the burger never fails to satisfy. This

Enjoying the legendary burger. I dropped in to purchase gift cards, (with the $10 bonus) and kick off turkey season with the turkey dinner and pumpkin pie. Sob...got my dates mixed up! The turkey special starts on December 13! This location has the friendliest staff. It has the laid back ambience of an old school local coffee shop and always has a "welcome neighbour" vibe. Located next to SaveOn, lots of parking! EV plug-ins.

Got takeout from here. White Spot is usually solid but not this location. I once brought my parents here and we waited an entire hour for eggs for breakfast and they forgot the toast. 20 minutes later after we were done eating they brought us some burnt bread. Maybe just don't go to this location, other ones are great :)

I've been going to this Whitespot and the one in West Vancouver for the last 4 years and "every time" without exaggeration, they mess up my order. This time is the last time I will go there, the chicken broccoli looked like it had been scrapped off the floor and put in a container, and ... there was no chicken in it!

Ohhhh nooooo! I must say there is a difference between night and day at this location. For breakfast I get good service, coffee before I ask and a meal that can be customized to my Liking. ( crap this iPhone has a mind of its own with autocorrect). Tonight ? Well I got seated ok but it took a long time to get service which never came and after waiting almost half an hour and hardly any customers I got up and left. From a five star review to two. The menu looked nice. I was ready for my Monty Mushroom burger but the lady kept walking past me. Sheesh! Ok time to leave before I coughed a virus

Avoid this white spot. My Putin was all mushy. And my cheeseburger was over coocked. The service was good tho.

    Not too crowded today

Poor service every time we go here. Food is ok.. staff is trying but can't seem to get it together. Needs some veteran leadership.

My boyfriend and I were in a seafood mood and ordered the following: Seafood Tower: A showstopper. Beautifully presented, overflowing with fresh oysters, chilled prawns, lobster rolls, caviche, and tuna tartar. Everything tasted fresh and ocean-sweet but the lobster rolls buns were getting wet and soggy from the plate to ice condensation - an oversight on presentation logistics. Wagyu Carpaccio: Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The wagyu was sliced paper thin and had that rich, buttery texture you hope for. The shaved truffle garnishe added just enough flavour without overshadowing the beef. Served with a few pieces of sourdough bread, it was one of my favourites. Roasted Chicken: I know--ordering chicken at a seafood-forward spot felt risky, but it ended up being one of the surprise standouts. Perfectly roasted with crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meat. It was served with a zesty sauce and roasted vegetables and really homey and tasty. Scallops Risotto: Creamy, aromatic, and cooked to that ideal al dente bite. The scallops were seared beautifully--golden on the outside and tender inside. Service was warm and attentive, and the coastal-chic atmosphere made the whole experience feel relaxed but still special. If you're anywhere near the area, Seaside Provisions is worth a visit especially since they have a Happy Hour.

We arrived around 2 PM for our reservation and were greeted warmly right away, which made for a great first impression. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The bamboo divider running through the middle of the space gave it a cozy, modern Japanese-inspired feel, and the overall atmosphere was probably my favorite part of the experience. As for the food, unfortunately it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. I ordered the seafood sizzler bowl, and while it wasn't bad by any means, it felt underwhelming for the price. The bowl was mostly rice, with a few small prawns, tiny scallops, a little roe, and some crab mixed in. I was expecting something more seafood-forward, so it ended up feeling more like a deconstructed fried rice than the premium dish I had envisioned. Same with the unagi bowl, couple small pieces of unagi cut up... The appetizers were actually the highlight of the meal and ended up being more memorable than my main course. I kept waiting for a dish to really wow me, but nothing stood out enough to make me crave a return visit. Maybe I just ordered the wrong items, because I know this place has plenty of fans. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but based on this visit, I don't see myself making a special trip back.

Maybe it's an American thing to linger and enjoy a dining experience. To stay longer than needed to…read moresoak up the ambiance and give a good moment some extra time for memories. But in other parts of the world the meal is what's important and so is a quick turn around. Guu with Garlic reminded me a lot of the Izakaya restaurants I found under the train lines of Tokyo in many ways, including the amount of time it felt right to stay. The food came out quick, the servers took orders quicker, and the alcohol came out chilled and as nice contrast to the hot food. Looking around and you see the hand written menu on blackboard surfaces on the walls and this feeling of authenticity. The heat of the flames from the kitchen can be felt and seen if you sit at the bar. And the flavors just hit all the right notes. Starting with appetizers, a section izakayas shine at, the first dish we got was their scallop and mayo pizza. With a crispy crunch on the bottom and crust, this reminds you of the flavors of a baked volcano roll or scallop roll you can find in almost any North American sushi restaurant. Just like that dish, it's important to eat it while it's still hot so it doesn't get gross and 느끼 에. Then came the yellowtail tuna "tempura" pieces. Thick pieces of yellowtail tuna flash fried for just the right crisp on the outside with slight pink of the fish inside. It is meaty without being oily or fatty. Great bite. The beef tongue after was interesting. From the color of the sauce it accompanies it you would think it would be heavy in flavor but it is actually light and citrusy. A good cut into the richer tones of the beef tongue. The yaki udon was one of the best I ever had. It was smokey without being overpowering. The beef was thin and tender and balanced well with the mushrooms it also came with. The udon noodles stayed bouncy and chewy which I didn't expect from being grilled. Very tasty and highly recommend this dish. For our final bite we shared a hot stone bowl of their pork and cabbage rice. With the hot stone bowl constantly cooking even after this dish arrived it was imperative to stir the ingredients together constantly for the first two minutes. It allowed for the runny egg to meld with the rice and the crispy texture of some ingredients was a nice bonus. All in all, I loved eating here and if my appetite was bigger I would've tried more on their menu. A solid place to eat with a great atmosphere, if you're looking for delicious food that won't take too much of your time but still lingers in your memories you have to check out Guu with Garlic.

We parked on a side street not too far away and noticed how friendly people were as we walked to the restaurant. Everyone said hello and smiled as we passed through. You certainly don't get that same experience in many other areas of the Lower Mainland. Because it was spur of the moment, we didn't have a reservation. We put our name down with the host and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. The restaurant was a little noisy but not overwhelmingly so. We both had coffee, which was really good. I should've asked what kind of coffee they serve because it's not very often the regular drip coffee is this good. I was having a hard time deciding between the Blvd Blackstone Benny with maple bacon and the Smokey Brisket Benny. I ended up choosing the latter with a side of avocado and my friend had the Huevos Rancheros - he added a side of fried potatoes when he saw how good they looked on my plate. I took one bite of the brisket and I was instantly so glad I chose it. The meat was so tender and flavourful and I didn't even need my knife to cut it. It was phenomenal. My eggs were overcooked but immediately replaced with new eggs when I mentioned it to the server. The replacements were soft with perfectly runny yolks. She also brought extra hollandaise sauce. My friend's meal looked amazing, in fact I now have to come back just so I can have this dish. I wasn't able to finish my meal so I boxed it up to finish later. I will definitely come back here to try more of the menu items, especially when the coffee is this good. Makes me wish I lived closer!

The brioche bun was soft yet crispy and the flavours were nice. My friends got eggs benny. They said it was good although the egg was not runny, rather a soft jammy egg yolk. If you like a runny yolk, be sure to let the waiter know. On the table they have a hot sauce, and that was delicious. It was sweet and tangy and had a good amount of spice.
