Our server Alysha really made our visit. She was bubbly, knowledgeable about the menu, and did a great job checking up on us even though she was the only server there. We stopped in for a late birthday lunch for my daughter, and she really made her feel special. The interior is modern and bright, and there is outdoor seating as well. We all enjoyed our food - my dad said it was the best omelette he's ever had! There was a variety of options represented at our table and each were executed well.

We stopped by for their $10 early bird door crasher special. Drink was included with the eggs benedict, potatoes and fruit. The special was available from 10-11 am. I was surprised the restaurant was not busy as this was a great value. Food tasted delicious. Egg was pouched soft as requested. There was a good amount of hollandaise sauce and ham. Potatoes were nicely seasoned. Cantaloupe slices were sweet. I had orange juice as my drink of choice. Lastly, service was excellent. Staff checked up on us regularly. Ambience is modern, nice and cozy. I think this is a great breakfast option if you are in the area.

It was our first time and it will not be the last. The service offered by Casidy was very diligent, courteous and professional. The menu and culinary are excellent . We had delicious nachos with guacamole, oysters , cauliflower wings, and also two delicious pizzas : big Kahuna and arugula and truffle mushrooms. The sippin Romer white wine is exquisite !!!!! Hardly can wait to go back again!!!! It has a very nice ambience

I took my family here on February 1, 2025 for a birthday celebration. our group was a group of nine. All of us enjoyed the amazing menu which was their 2026 Dine Out Vancouver offerings. I enjoyed the chicken Bellagio that Connor a server had highly recommended, and I was not disappointed at all. Jaden was our server and she did a fantastic job with all our various needs and requests. There were no complaints and everyone left happy and full. I thoroughly enjoyed the starter I had as well, which was a ahi tuna tataki and finished the dinner off with a delicious chocolate mousse!!! I love supporting my local restaurants. This menu is on till the 8th so get a move on!

    Bruschetta for two. Awesome!

But don't sleep on Squamish's limited-but-delicious food scene. A solid place to start is Backcountry Brewing, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar and restaurant on the back side of the towns main shopping plaza. Since debuting in 2017, Backcountry has been a British Columbia beer darling; now, Backcountry prides itself on an ambitious lineup of limited-release beers. From the outside, the converted warehouse blends in with the rest of the industrial block. But inside, Backcountry is lively and inviting. The accents sport a tan and teal color palette. The bar to the right is decked with retro bulbs and a letterboard menu. Sound-dampening panels and camo-shaded lamps hang down from the soaring exposed HVAC. Each table is decked with a laminated BC map and mid-century modern chairs. Eighties tunes echo around the halls. My partner and I visited Backcountry after a full day of hiking, ready to chow down; we ordered a sandwich, a pizza, and a few flights. The Soprano -- Italian Sando was piled high with capicola, mortadella, and prosciutto cotto on a fluffy, poppyseed-laden foccacia. Our side of Five Guys-style, wedge-cut fries was rich and salty, and we loved each one of Backcountry's house-made sauces more than the last. The Meat Your Maker pizza was a deliciously nostalgic riff on the classic meat-lovers pizza. The thin crust stood up against the hefty helping of toppings, and the poofy cornicione paired perfectly with the exciting sauces. On the brewery side, the flights proved to be a fun deal. Across the beers, I was most impressed by the sours. Our collective favorite was the "Plan B? We Need A Plan C, D, E, We Need More Alphabets" (a basil-forward pineapple sour), while the "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop" (a peach-centric sour) and the "Might As Well Go For A Soda" (a gummy cola-esque cherry sour) were strong competitors. Meanwhile, the non-sour beers I tried were relative duds, including the "Never Taken A Shortcut Before?" oatmeal stout and the Sneaky Peach Cider. The service was friendly but somewhat inattentive throughout the meal, and the bill came to about $60 (after tax and tip). More than anything else, Backcountry satisfied -- it achieved the ideal brewery balance of fun, elevated, and casual. After our stay in Whistler, I admittedly had low expectations for Squamish, but Backcountry Brewing was a beyond-pleasant surprise, and I surely would visit again.

As it got busier, the tables felt quite close together--I had to move my chair into the walkway so the person behind me could sit comfortably. Better spacing during peak times would definitely help. On the plus side, I was pleasantly surprised by the beer. They finally had the carrot cake beer on tap, which was great, though they weren't able to accommodate another beer listed on the menu (the chocolate orange stout). Food-wise, I found the cauliflower to be more batter than cauliflower.

Cold vibes and half empty. It was actually slightly odd, at the front of the restaurant it was a family with young children vibe, in the middle it was empty and at the back was the geriatric vibe. Bizarre. Although I might be comparing it to the main Steam Works in Gastown. A happening, adult, trendy, hip scene with bustling energy. Actually so much so, the Feng Shui and balance of the place felt off, while we were waiting for the hostess, I almost left. The place just didn't grab me...you know?..... We sat at the back just past the bar area with a lovely view of an unkept dirty wanna-be garden patio decorated with stacked dusty outdoor chairs balancing massive rain drops from the night before. Oh, and I think they also used that space to store their gardening equipment. So, instead of a clean, inviting, manicured garden patio overlooking Lonsdale Ave with a set up to entice people to have the option to sit outside...they had....well.....THAT.... Moving on..... Our server, AM B was not friendly at all. She seemed hungover, not that there's anything wrong with being hungover, but if it interferes with your work...then maybe you should've stayed home and popped a couple of Advil. And now for the food.... I loved the Garlic Chilli Chicken Wings with the kimchi aioli dip. I also loved the House Lager. That was about it. Whence the 2 Stars. The Prawn and Chorizo Jambalaya was a monstrosity. Truly. An attack and insult to the Jambalaya dish. The rice was so overcooked it pureed in your mouth. The Prawns seemed like small shrimp and tasted frozen, mushy and rubbery. Every single ingredient in the dish was disastrously obliterated. (See pic.) While getting up to leave...... We both said, the beer and wings were good, but yeah...not coming back here. That pretty much sums it up.

The chips were burnt (did not taste fresh) and it was very dry. We also got their rigatoni pasta which was too salty, the sauce was not cooked well. Usually when their fries are super crispy and my favourite but this time they had gotten soggy. Even the Forager Chicken was over cooked and chewy to eat. Maybe it was a busy day for them? Free parking is available in front of the building. The place is quite spacious. Looks like it was once a car repair shop (just like Streetcar). Actually according to the internets it used to be a carpentry shop. Single large area with bay door that can be opened to let air in. Cute little old school fireplace on the side. Wonder if it's functional. Tables are fine but the chairs are the rather uncomfortable stainless steel interrogation room type. Fortunately there are also some cushions lying around. My butt thanked me. Staff are friendly. As of the time of writing there are 10 brews (9 beers and 1 3rd party cider) available. The beers here are actually quite good. Reminds me of Wildeye. Plenty of ales but they also have sours and stouts. Nice mix. Only real comment I have is that the Life Of Riley Hazy IPA didn't seem too hazy at all. Maybe they should change the name. Will be back in the future.
