This is a nice tap house for when you want to hang with friends and drink or try new beer. I enjoy traveling to local breweries so this was a great spot while visiting NC. The flights were good (three flights for around $18 altogether). There wasn't a beer that I didn't like out of the 10 that I tried. They don't serve food but do have chips for purchase. Don't expect anything fancy. You order your beer, you bring it to your table, and you enjoy it.

Tasting flight. From left to right: the Kolsch, IPA, Scottish Ale and Blond Ale

The local brewery in Wake Forest. The bar and sitting area is in the same big room with the brewery tanks, and it looks nice. They got a pretty good crowd on a Sunday afternoon. In addition to 3 TVs, they have darts and maybe some other bar games. As for the beer, they only have about 8-10 varieties on the chalkboard. I had the tasting flight and tried their four year-around varieties. They tasted alright, nothing that was really distinctive, but none of them are bad either. The price for a tasting flight of four is a little lower than some of the other breweries in the Triangle, so that's a plus.

I enjoy craft beer so while visiting friends that live in Wake Forest, WSB was an easy choice. Located right in town, it's an interesting old building converted into a brewery. The place was clean and neat. Beer was fresh (I would sure hope so) too. Restroom modern and clean. The staff wasn't particularly friendly but not rude either. Ambiance is great. Nice place to meet friends and there was a food truck outside. They had I would guess, 8 of their beers on tap. It was pretty diverse but I wasn't bowled over by the two I tried. Good but standard stuff.

I may be partial but this place is a little slice of heaven. Every beer we've tried here has been super! They gave a beer from every single category which is hard to come By. Each beer is full and flavorful. Bartenders are always welcoming and knowledgeable. We love White Street Brewing!

A very laid back atmosphere in the quaint town of Wake Forest. Friendly bartender will let you taste if you're not quite sure what you want. They have IPA, Scottish ale and Belgian pale ale on tap. No food service but you can order pizza from pizza amore and they will deliver. I believe they also have food trucks on occasion. Great place to chill with a nice cold one and socialize with the locals.

Stopped in for the first time this weekend, finally experiencing the best thing to hit Wake Forest in the 8 years that I have lived here. First off, the place is gorgeous. It is in the old Classic Cars building so there is A LOT of room. The brewing takes place all in the same wide open facility so you can see everything as it is going on which was neat to see for someone like me who has no clue as to how beer is made. There is lots of open space with a giant TV that everyone can see. It is more like a theater screen. There are two TVs, one on each side of the bar which listed the beer choices and information scrolling about each beer. They do not serve food but we were told that anytime we want to bring food in from other downtown restaurants, we are welcomed to do so. What a great thing for the downtown restaurants like Frankie C's that deliver! You can call them, order some grub and have them walk over next door to deliver it. Great way of keeping business downtown, which I love!! Also nice is that they stay open until midnight on the weekend and 10pm during the week. This is rare for WF but I hear is the trend for the renaissance plan for most businesses to stay open later as the downtown area is revitalized. What I loved: -The taste of the Classic White Street Pale Ale -The friendliness of the staff and the owner. They really seem grateful to be warmly welcomed into WF -The fact that there was a good crowd on a Saturday afternoon and new faces to downtown which told me that people are driving in from outside of the downtown area. This was impressive and is GREAT SIGN! -Growlers!!! Hubs and I grabbed a growler and will continue to go back (probably more than we would like to admit) to fill it to take home. It is a better deal to buy the growler if you are drinking beer inside as it ends up being about $2.50 per pint rather than the $5-6 but you have to plan on the fact that you are drinking at least 4 beers between you and your companion. That's not that difficult though. :) Note- there were no chairs but lots of bar space and tall tables. Apparently the chairs are on back order. It wasn't so bad on a Saturday afternoon hanging out but I would imagine being there to socialize with a group, especially wearing heels, it would be an issue. Hopefully the chairs will be in soon. Can't wait to go back and so stoked that it is walking distance to our house!

Merry Christmas! Whoever does their art is pretty good.

My favorite brewery in the Triangle for sure. Along with Shortys (best hot dog joint around) next door, this is a must-stop for me any time I am in Wake Forest. Their Scottish is one of my favorite beers and they do a good job of keeping their main beers and then switching it up with a few seasonals. Whoever draws up their chalkboard beer menu is a pro. I'm tempted to try beer types I typically don't like because of the cool art. The exterior and interior both have a really finished, classy look. Everyone in there always seems super laid back and easy going. They also have a few TVs, including one that has to be over 70 inches so it turns out it is a pretty good spot to watch games too. Cheers!!

Great taproom and brewery in quaint downtown Wake Forest. The beer specials are handwritten on the chalk board and the bar and chairs are made of dark heavy wood. There are plenty of tables and TVs. The beer is fresh and there are great choices from Koelsch style to double IPAs. You can order food from outside (we ordered pizza from Cannizzaro's and ate in the taproom). There are also special collaboration events and the one today featured beers from Wicked Weed, Foothills, Fullsteam and Mother Earth.

Such a fun place! I was in town visiting a friend and we made a stop at White Street in Downtown Wake Forest and I was not disappointed! I typically like lighter beers and the bartender was helpful in helping my choose for my flight. The Kolsch was awesome! Great atmosphere in here. This is a great place for beer lovers, but also for people who are not sure what kinds they like.

Their Kolsch, light and refreshing but full of taste

I was impressed with so many of them, that I knew I had to make the journey from Raleigh to Wake Forest. On a chilly Saturday afternoon, I took the lone remaining seat at the bar. The service was incredible friendly (Cheers!) and they let me try 4 samples, which was very much appreciated. My favorites were the Juicy January and and the Yellow Submarine, both are Hazy IPAs. The JJ had hints of creamy pineapple in it, refreshing without being too light. The YS tasted a little more balanced, a really good all around beer. The Where I Belong was also good, this one leaned a little more towards West Coast, but it didn't have a strong piney taste like a lot of West Coasts can. I even noticed hints of caramel in it as well, which helped to counter the hops. There are several TVs and they'll put on just about any game you request. Also if you're into pumpkin beer, try the Pumpkin Amber when it's around. It's a Top 3 pumpkin beer that I've ever tried, and I've tried at least 25.

Lonerider was very accommodating and accessible for both humans and dogs. Let's talk about beer and cocktails. As I was DD, you'll have to take my spouse's word for the beer. He enjoyed a couple of IPA's on the menu, and they very kindly made me a mocktail for half the price (which I'm grateful for as the drive back to Northern VA is kind of long, and I don't need to get pulled over with two newly adopted beagles already scared for their lives.) The outlaw extra menu, which is made up of specialty kegs on tap, also had a good variety on it. The big screen with all the different beers currently available is pretty cool. And I like that there's a fridge stocked up with take home beers, too. Plenty of parking outside. The beer garden was packed full of people and dogs and pop-up shops, still with room to sit and enjoy a beer or two. Inside there was plenty of seating and room to move around without stepping on any paws. I love that a portion of the proceeds from these events always goes back to TriBeagles, and I'm thankful for local businesses supporting these precious dogs in finding homes by providing event space. I wish we lived closer, Lonerider. We'd be here all the time.

Think food truck without the wheels! Love that they offer 2 on tap ciders (guest taps) and 2 NA options. Things to improve- All breweries do trivia, bingo & karaoke. What's something that is identifying to CRB? Just seems a bit stale to be polite. Loved their live music and guest monthly schedule. Several of the beer (specifically the coffee porter & honey wheat) were high IBU in turn being very bitter. We wanted to love the wheat and the coffee porter but both left us longing for better. So if we are a brewery... be great at that. Why are we a full service liquor bar too? A few options to appease everyone but we were surprised at the bourbon choices. Not only does it look cluttered, it clearly was selected by someone who has a preference for liquor/bourbon vs. a brew master. Maybe do a rotating cocktail list or 4-6 out of this world drinks and cut the rest. Drink prices at this price should not have pre done sour mix in them. Quality liquor should mean quality ingredients too. Big thumbs down on that. We did love the mimosa cocktail idea and the beer-rita with the use of CBR beer. Sames from 6 years ago- Chairs still suck. Parking is a little bit of an adventure but not sure there is a solution but rather just something to plan ahead for. No niche beer... still. We had their newish beers in each category. Overall... Scottish is still a solid choice. Lack of identity/theme/flagship beer (although we were told their IPA was?) I ordered a flight which was a great way to sample some of the selection. Overall, the beers were good, but not memorable. There was karaoke when we went. It was quite loud and we ended up having to shout at each other to hear one another. Again, this was mid-day, so it was odd to have karaoke going. There were quite a few kids running around, too. One of my biggest complaints about bars in this area is that too many allow kids. My husband and I are DINKS and would love to find a place that's adults-only but it's kind of hard to come by these days. I also personally think it's safer to just leave the kids at home if you're under the influence but that's just my two cents. If you are the type to bring the whole family to the bar for day drinking, you'll enjoy Compass Rose. I think I'll try them again but I'm still on the search for an authentic no-kids allowed bar. Maybe next time, I'll sit in the actual brewery section and see how that goes.
