Very solid brewery making excellent beer. Staff is awesome and the space is incredible. I do wish they had a kitchen, but they often have food trucks that park out front. 100% worth your time. If you're in the area and you're thirsty, stop and have a beer. Full bar is available. read more

Nice taproom, good classic rock music track, and some amazingly good beer. Hefeweizen actually tasted like a German Hefe. The Russian imperial stout (aged in bourbon barrels) was awesome.... And I don't say awesome often!!! I'll have to tell you about the other beers another time... the Russian Stout was 14%. read more

The Lowdown: I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE White Street Brewing Company. The service is always exceptional, the beer is delicious(especially Kolsch)and there is just a great ambiance. I have to admit that my first time going to White Street Brewing, I didn't get all the hype. I'm glad I didn't write a review based on that first experience and I wish that I had read reviews prior to going that first time. First, there is no food served at this brewery! That being said, you can bring your own food, have food delivered there, or purchase from a street vendor that is usually parked outside. Had I realized this my first time there I would have been much happier! Second is parking, be prepared to parallel park and/or walk a short distance. If you go early enough, there are a few stores to check out along the street which are pretty cool. White Street Brewing offers some typical bar games such as darts and shuffle board. There are also a couple large TVs for viewing pleasure. It can get a bit crowded there, especially on "Friday Night On White" nights. Also, no matter how busy they are, I have always had great service and typically it's pretty timely too. The bartenders are always smiling and trying to deliver great customer service! If you are in Wake Forest and you like beer, I would say you definitely need to check this place out! read more

This is a nice tap house for when you want to hang with friends and drink or try new beer. I enjoy traveling to local breweries so this was a great spot while visiting NC. The flights were good (three flights for around $18 altogether). There wasn't a beer that I didn't like out of the 10 that I tried. They don't serve food but do have chips for purchase. Don't expect anything fancy. You order your beer, you bring it to your table, and you enjoy it. read more

The local brewery in Wake Forest. The bar and sitting area is in the same big room with the brewery tanks, and it looks nice. They got a pretty good crowd on a Sunday afternoon. In addition to 3 TVs, they have darts and maybe some other bar games. As for the beer, they only have about 8-10 varieties on the chalkboard. I had the tasting flight and tried their four year-around varieties. They tasted alright, nothing that was really distinctive, but none of them are bad either. The price for a tasting flight of four is a little lower than some of the other breweries in the Triangle, so that's a plus. read more

I enjoy craft beer so while visiting friends that live in Wake Forest, WSB was an easy choice. Located right in town, it's an interesting old building converted into a brewery. The place was clean and neat. Beer was fresh (I would sure hope so) too. Restroom modern and clean. The staff wasn't particularly friendly but not rude either. Ambiance is great. Nice place to meet friends and there was a food truck outside. They had I would guess, 8 of their beers on tap. It was pretty diverse but I wasn't bowled over by the two I tried. A very laid back atmosphere in the quaint town of Wake Forest. Friendly bartender will let you taste if you're not quite sure what you want. They have IPA, Scottish ale and Belgian pale ale on tap. No food service but you can order pizza from pizza amore and they will deliver. I believe they also have food trucks on occasion. This bar has the Best view out to downtown wake forest. It's so fun to sit and people watch. I like the Klosch and Hoptimist They typically rotate some other formulas from time to time. Note Shortys a wake forests historic hot dogs place is right next door. A pizza shop that is close buy will bring you a pizza to the bar which is fantastic. Burger shop is also a short walk away. Get your drive home arrangements made and hit White Street! It will be sure to put you in a better mode! read more

Stopped in for the first time this weekend, finally experiencing the best thing to hit Wake Forest in the 8 years that I have lived here. First off, the place is gorgeous. It is in the old Classic Cars building so there is A LOT of room. The brewing takes place all in the same wide open facility so you can see everything as it is going on which was neat to see for someone like me who has no clue as to how beer is made. There is lots of open space with a giant TV that everyone can see. It is more like a theater screen. There are two TVs, one on each side of the bar which listed the beer choices and information scrolling about each beer. They do not serve food but we were told that anytime we want to bring food in from other downtown restaurants, we are welcomed to do so. What a great thing for the downtown restaurants like Frankie C's that deliver! You can call them, order some grub and have them walk over next door to deliver it. Great way of keeping business downtown, which I love!! Also nice is that they stay open until midnight on the weekend and 10pm during the week. This is rare for WF but I hear is the trend for the renaissance plan for most businesses to stay open later as the downtown area is revitalized. What I loved: -The taste of the Classic White Street Pale Ale -The friendliness of the staff and the owner. They really seem grateful to be warmly welcomed into WF -The fact that there was a good crowd on a Saturday afternoon and new faces to downtown which told me that people are driving in from outside of the downtown area. This was impressive and is GREAT SIGN! -Growlers!!! Hubs and I grabbed a growler and will continue to go back (probably more than we would like to admit) to fill it to take home. It is a better deal to buy the growler if you are drinking beer inside as it ends up being about $2.50 per pint rather than the $5-6 but you have to plan on the fact that you are drinking at least 4 beers between you and your companion. That's not that difficult though. :) Note- there were no chairs but lots of bar space and tall tables. Apparently the chairs are on back order. It wasn't so bad on a Saturday afternoon hanging out but I would imagine being there to socialize with a group, especially wearing heels, it would be an issue. Hopefully the chairs will be in soon. Can't wait to go back and so stoked that it is walking distance to our house! read more

My favorite brewery in the Triangle for sure. Along with Shortys (best hot dog joint around) next door, this is a must-stop for me any time I am in Wake Forest. Their Scottish is one of my favorite beers and they do a good job of keeping their main beers and then switching it up with a few seasonals. Whoever draws up their chalkboard beer menu is a pro. I'm tempted to try beer types I typically don't like because of the cool art. The exterior and interior both have a really finished, classy look. Everyone in there always seems super laid back and easy going. They also have a few TVs, including one that has to be over 70 inches so it turns out it is a pretty good spot to watch games too. Great taproom and brewery in quaint downtown Wake Forest. The beer specials are handwritten on the chalk board and the bar and chairs are made of dark heavy wood. There are plenty of tables and TVs. The beer is fresh and there are great choices from Koelsch style to double IPAs. You can order food from outside (we ordered pizza from Cannizzaro's and ate in the taproom). The small selection of beer offered here is really well done. Kolsch beer has more flavor than you normally find in this style of beer, crisp with some fruity undertones (excellent choice for a warm day ). Scottish ale has the right mix of sweet and bitter . I am not a fan of IPAs but Hoptimist is a pretty solid beer - really hoppy without stripping the enamel off your teeth. Non -year round beers were both good. Stanley's Milk Stout was a nice dark rich beer and the Coffee Porter has a nice dose of coffee flavor making your body confused on if it should be awake or go into a beer coma. The guest tap for the evening is a good saison but did not outshine any of the host's beers. White Street also offers wines for those of you that want to hang with beer buddies but not a fan of the brew. read more

Great little brewery in Wake Forest. Tried a couple of their beers but the Hoptimist IPA was my favorite. They dont serve food here but our corporate host had a great caterer Shuckers come in and serve some wonderful dishes. I noticed that many customers ordered in pizza from the local pizza place. The service here was great and they were quick to bring a fresh beer, water or what ever we asked for. I wish I had a little more time to go over the beer list but I was talking to some friends I dont see often and met some new friends. read more

This is by far the coolest brewery I've been to in a long time. White Street Brewing Company was hosting a BBQ event (which was awesome btw) which was hosted on White Street. The voting portion was in the brewery itself, which was cool because the building was amazing. It was an open concept even in the brewing areas. It was separated by a short wall. Tons of exposed bricks and high ceiling. The overall, its a very welcoming and warm building. Everyone buzzed and smiling. I would drive back for the event and the brewery. This place is AMAZING!! Hands down the best brewery in Wake County. Tried my first ever Scottish Ale and it was absolutely delicious. The Tun of Bricks Wee Heavy Parti-Gyle was also an incredibly refreshing ale that packs a punch on the alcohol content, but it is so smooth you'll never know it! No food at this establishment, but the bartenders are quick to point out that resultantly, the nearby local restaurants benefit. They're totally cool with you ordering a pizza or food and eating it in the brewery. After three years of living in Raleigh, I think we finally found the crown jewel. I enjoyed the beer so much on Friday evening that I asked my husband to take me back on Sunday. And I can't wait to go again!! Beer gets 4 Stars but taproom gets 2 Stars. Popped in with friends to wind down a great Saturday evening once again at White Street. I opted out of a draft beer for a glass of wine instead this time. Shame on me, I guess. When I was served almost 3oz and expected not to speak up, I asked the bar tender about it. He pretty much said "Lady, we don't fill it all the way up". Thanks kiddo, since you think I can't spot the difference between a 2oz sample and a typical 5 oz pour, I'll be sure to drink and tip elsewhere from now on. I will say that their beer is good, and I'll be glad to purchase their product elsewhere. But the taproom often lacks the friendly environment we look for in a Southern taproom. Too many other friendly spots to patronize in this city to continue to waste my time here. read more

I understand staff wants to leave but if the place is open until ten, doors should not be close before that. You will often find me here several times a week, especially on Wednesday nights for trivia. White Street has a good selection of house beers; a kolsch, Scottish, IPA, and blonde. They also have a wide variety of really tasty seasonal beers. I'm especially fond of their Stouts. They used to have live music more often than they currently do, and I sort of miss those days. I get it that sometimes it may get a little loud in there, but I still miss being able to go and see some of my favorite local bands. read more

Located in the heart of downtown Wake Forest, this is probably one of the classiest breweries I have been to. High ceilings, varnished dark hardwood tables, shinny brewery equipment, nice bathrooms and a cozy intimate feeling. Their beer is fantastic; a good range of styles and of high quality. If you have had any of their beers from the grocery store, that should give you the impetus to make your way over to Wake Forest. Finally I made it to Wake Forest to check out White Street Brewing Company. Ever since I had my first sip of White Street's Scottish ale I just knew I was in love. I've had their beer a zillion times but not actually at the brewery itself. I walked into a wide open space, with musicians jamming, growlers decorating the bar and friendly folks enjoying some ice cold beers. If you've never been before I highly suggest ordering one of their flights so you can try all the brews you will not be disappointed. The night I was there they had a wheat beer on tap OMG not only do I love wheat beers but what do they do to their beers to make them so darn good. It was a Friday night and this place was hoping with locals. People were playing shuffle board, chatting with their company, or listening to the awesome band playing (Avett Brothers type music). Not sure if they have live music every Friday night but I imagine they do. I'm kicking myself for not buying a couple growlers before I left since I don't make it out this way often. But the good news is White Street brews have been popping up all around town at local bars and restaurants, so I know it won't be long till I get another sip. Happy to see another new brewery in the Triangle! Went to check it out for their grand opening and it was awesome to see so many people there to check out some new local beer. The brewery itself is gorgeous. Right on the main drag in Wake Forest, filled with exposed brick and wood from the historic building, plus open to the brew tanks and fermenters. Very cool, one of the best breweries for ambiance in the Triangle. And obviously, the beer is important too. I tried all 5 of their initial beers and the highlights were their Imperial Pale Ale and Black IPA. The Scottish was pretty good and their Kolsch and Pale Ale were very drinkable. I'll be curious to see if they come out with seasonals and experimentals too as they move forward. A good addition to the Triangle beer scene and worth a trip out to Wake Forest. read more

White street is a cute brewery in downtown Wake Forest. They have a great beer selection with seasonal drafts. They don't serve food but allow you to bring in food from nearby restaurants or the occasional food truck. There were several kids in the brewery but the atmosphere seemed family friendly. White Street serves many purposes and is a crucial addition to the Triangle and NC brewing market. They opened up a very tricky market there in Wake Forest and I know they had to cut through a lot of red tape to open up this place. I won't pretend to understand the business and political dynamic of Wake Forest, but I know it was tough for them the get this kicked off, but they have done it and done it well. The beer, one of my favorite in NC, is always diverse, seasonal but not typical, and can be found on tap all over the place. I prefer the Scottish, but since they have so many new brews coming out, it's hard to tell. The brewery itself is interesting and the set-up allows for a good amount of mingling. They also have darts, and bands playing from time to time. I know they also have food trucks showing up every once and awhile since they don't serve any food. I'm not sure if they will make it a brew pub in the future, but for now, it's perfect. I try to swing by here at least once a month. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to make the trek out to Wake Forest to visit White Street Brewing this past weekend. This place is located in downtown Wake Forest so I enjoyed walking around outside. I have had the Kolsch, Hoptimist and Scottish at bottle shops prior to visiting and love all 3 so I wanted to try something new. I was disappointed that they only had 2 choices, a Belgian Blond and the El Chupalagra, but I did enjoy them both! I am really, truly ashamed that I live so close to here yet it's taken me so long to check out White Street Brewing Co.'s home base. Don't get me wrong, I've had their beer plenty of times, but somehow I had never managed to actually go to the brewery itself. I'm glad I finally got a chance to right this terrible wrong on my part! Some friends and I dropped in here on a rainy Sunday night recently, and found a warm, cozy atmosphere which...most importantly...featured lots of delicious beer. On the particular night I visited it was pretty dead, but there is a ton of space here and it could easily accommodate a bigger crowd. I really like the openness of their layout, and how all of the various brewing apparatuses are fully on display. But, most importantly, the beer here is great. I personally am a huge fan of the Kolsch and the Scottish, but I would highly recommend getting a flight and sampling all of their varieties. White Street ranks up there in my top five favorite local breweries, and you're really missing out if you don't pay them a visit. It may mean trekking out to Wake Forest, but it's worth it! read more

We have stopped here multiple times since moving to Wake Forest. Each time the beer is great and the service is very friendly! We often come in with our toddler, and appreciate being able to bring in a little one. Even if kiddos are well behaved, some places don't always make us feel welcome. White Street is exceptional, and we have ALWAYS felt welcome at the brewery. They had some great live music going on last night, but regretfully I don't remember the band's name.
