I was pleasantly surprised by Owl's Roost given it is in the quiet town of Franklinton. My crew went upstairs where there were about 6 tables, some arcade games, and darts you can get from the bartender. There's also seating downstairs at and around the bar, plus a good sized patio with more seating and another bar so you don't have to come inside. It also looked like they have an area for bands to set up inside, so I imagine this may be a key hang out for the locals on weekend nights. The beer was decent. I got a wheat beer which was fine, and I sampled some of my friend's. I think the stout he had was the most flavorful. The cheesy bread was probably the best I've had. The ratio of cheese to bread was spot on!

Buffalo Chicken Pizza! Delicious!

So for me, if it's Owls, food and live music then it's a winner in my book. And Owls Roost did not disappoint. When I arrived and walked in, I heard the live music but for the life of me could not find where it was coming from. Low and behold, there literally is an upper "roost" area where the band was located. The place was packed and we had to sit outside to eat( it was a nice night so that was fine). When we got outside, the biggest downfall was that they had no speakers allowing the live music to be heard from the back patio area, but they were playing other music outdoors. Our server (I think her name was Danielle) was very attentive and even managed to track down some Buffalo Trace Bourbon for my friend (his absolute favorite, hard to find). The pizza we ordered was delicious! So service excellent, food absolutely delicious, only downfall is please Owls Roost, have your live music set up to be enjoyed outside!

Hot honey pizza, local beer (IPA and Pilsner), and excellent service (thanks Amber!), highly recommend a visit!

Spinach dip with "homemade" garlic crisps

This place has a great ambiance, great events, staff was friendly and helpful, and the beer was good. I thought the food was wildly overpriced for what you get. For example, take a look at the spinach dip that was advertised as coming with "homemade garlic chips." They we're actually warmed up blue tortilla chips. The pizza was ok, but you could get a better specialty pie for less than $24 somewhere else. We might come back here for a drink and live music, but would not order food again.

Their Sunday smoked wings are really good. Probably my favorite wings in the Raleigh/Wake Forest/Franklinton area.

I love rubber ducks!!!…read more We stopped by for a light lunch. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken dip and loved it. He has most of it on top of his tots, so he was a very happy guy. I ordered the burnt ends which were delicious, sticky and a little bit spicy with those jalapenos in the sauce. Sweet potato waffle fries were nice and crispy. They were nice enough to bring me honey mustard dressing for dipping. The kitchen seemed a little overwhelmed. It was quite busy when we walked in, but it was worth the wait. As for the beer list, I liked the number of beers that were low (less than 25) on the IBU scale. I don't like hoppy beers. I enjoyed the Cupid is as Cupid does ale.

The space itself is nice--plenty of seating inside and out, a private room in the back, clean bathrooms and even a stage where live music was playing during our visit. But the food situation was confusing. They have a full kitchen and menu listed, yet when we arrived, they were only serving food from a BBQ food truck/side business. Not sure if it was a staffing issue, a special event, or just how they do things on certain days, but it definitely wasn't clear for someone just passing through. Beer-wise, they had a decent range of styles, but nothing really stood out flavor-wise. Everything was just... okay. Not bad, but not memorable. Service was similar--there seemed to be only one guy behind the bar running things while the rest were tied to the BBQ setup. He wasn't rude, just not super engaged. All in all, this place was fine, but nothing WOWed me. With a little more clarity on the food, a stronger beer lineup and more upbeat staff, it could be a much better stop for travelers passing through, or even the regulars.

We have been here twice in the past two weeks to say our goodbyes to friends as we are moving out of state. We will truly miss Norse Brewery. You really cannot go wrong with anything you order. Whether you sit inside or out, you will feel cozy and relaxed while you eat delicious food!

The Norwegian-inspired menu is full of hearty and flavorful items. Our opener of Loaded Beer-Cheese Tots paired with a couple of co-owner/Brewmaster Brad Wynn's brewed on-site beers was heavenly. You MUST sample several of his creations, and take a moment to see the incredible brewery that is a huge part of the experience - his wife Lynn gave us a quick and amazing tour of the brewery, see pics. I had the Viking Burger, a carnivorian delight made from elk, bison, boar and wagyu meats and a half Norwegian salad that had us swooning with pleasure - a full salad would be a satisfying main vegetarian entree. Paul's Wisconsin Brat was so good, gonna hafta to have that during our next visit. The award-winning structure is a joy - 2 levels, dog-welcoming al fresco dining available front and back - and the downstairs bar where regular events occur - just amazing! Wanted a good lunch before catching my flight back home and I came across this place…read more It had been a tough few days and I needed a drink. This place was just what I needed before leaving Fayetville. The bartender was so amazingly sweet & attentive. The place is clean, and has a low key, casual vibe. It was around lunch time when I arrived and took an empty seat at the bar. I was promptly greeted and when I asked for recommendations, the bartender was very knowledgeable and I LOVED her recommendation, the pomegranate cider. I sat and enjoyed my drink taking in the vibe and conversation from locals that joined the bar. Finally, I ordered some food: The Patriot Burger. I opted for chicken for the protein and nixed the cheese, because well, my body hates it. Yes! It was as delicious as it looks in the picture. It was accompanied by a good helping of fries that were served hot, hot, hot! If you're feeling down and need a good drink in a great place before you go on with your day, come here! If you're hankering for a good burger, a beer, great service, and great casual conversation with strangers, come here! Thanks Gastons Gang for raising a Texas Gals spirits! Cheers!

They've got a smaller selection of craft beer, but it's still delicious. I did a flight and tried their two lagers, the lavender ale and their porter. Porter was super light not really heavy at all. Has a small coffee finish. The lavender ale actually really surprised me. It was delicious but my favorite was by far that velvet blackberry lager. Just absolutely amazing. Their liberty lager is super light. I would compare it to the equivalent of maybe a Miller light. We did order food. My husband got the chicken wings. They come in an order of six and he got the lemon pepper rub. He really liked it. He said the rub was a little sparse on some of the wings, but overall it was good. I got the pepperoni, hot honey flatbread and really enjoyed it. The pepperoni is the nice cup of pepperoni that curls and the hot honey gives a nice balance with it. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. We sat at the bar and the bar was kind of a disaster. I'm guessing they must've just come off of the dinner rush because we didn't arrive until around 8 o'clock.

They don't have an overwhelming draft or canned menu which to me is appreciated. I don't mind choices however when you have a craft beer menu that's deep it can be quite daunting. So to the Heckler crew, thank you for keeping it simple. This visit I had the Fried Pickles which if being honest were good but they're not the best I've had. If I could give a recommendation I would move away from the breading that's being used as I feel it takes away from the actual pickle which for me is about 90% of the taste profile. The breading was a bit overpowering. Sometimes simple is better. But that's just my opinion as a fried pickle enthusiast. Now as for the pizza, I have to give a solid high five. I've been here three times and everytime I've gotten a pizza and none have disappointed. This time around I got the meat lovers and it was fresh, and delicious.
