    a variety of beer taps

They have a relaxed and inviting atmosphere that instantly put me at ease with their perfect playlist playing that night, I couldn't have asked for a better ambiance. The beertenders were very friendly and attentive. Here are a few that stood out to me: - Dad Jokes, a refreshing Pilsner with a 3.8% ABV - Road to el Dorado, a tantalizing New England IPA with a 6.2% ABV - FestBier, a delightful Festbier with a 5.5% ABV - Raleigh Red, a flavorful Red Ale with a 4.5% ABV - Yeah Toast!, a rich and smooth Brown Ale with a 5.8% ABV

I was so excited to try their new Blueberry Lemonade sour but was soooooo let down. You can't taste the blueberry at all. But it still is a great place to sit back and listen to live music.

What a neat spot tucked away in a business complex. I love their outdoor area with fire pit going and people toasting marshmallows, and hanging out. From the outside, it looks like a trailer, but the inside is very simplistic, and has the usual brewery design with wood and metal everywhere. They need a new set up for getting beer, because the line grew out the door (a separate take out line might have helped), but the staff was very friendly, and people in the south never complain (let me tell you if this line was in a NJ brewery, people would not be happy lol). I was really pleasantly surprise by the beers, they were really good. Visiting from NJ, I had no idea which breweries were good, so I picked this one at random. They had a great selection of different styles, and I did not try a bad beer. My favorite was the peppermint stiletto. Smooth clean stout, and the peppermint did not overpower the beer at all, basically a york peppermint patty in a pint glass. Their milkshake style IPA was always very tasty, fruity, smooth, and very cloudy as it should be.

Off the beaten path. Food truck just came as we where leaving. The guy behind the counter was great.

I love this place! Ample outdoor seating with good cover to protect you from the sun, sufficient parking (and overflow parking for really busy days), live music on the regular, and usually a food truck or two on weekends. Their beer selection is excellent, and it's easy to pop in and out if you want to grab a six-pack (or more!) on your way to a friend's house. So happy this is close to my house, only wish there were a way to bike here (safely).

Delicious beer on a beautiful day

Definitely one of my new favorite breweries in the area! My first time here was during their Oktoberfest event, and the beer to match is one of my new favorites. The outdoor area is so perfect with lots of seating, and they usually have some live music set up on weekend evenings. On top of all that the staff and owners are super friendly. We're lucky to have this little gem tucked away in North Raleigh!

Great hidden gem with outstanding outdoor seating and live music! What a great place! Staff are super friendly and informative about the locale! We came upon this place by accident and since today is National Craft Distillery Day, why not?? We had a few beers (Black Stiletto and Bee Keeper Wheat) plus some ginger beers (Hibiscus Lavender and Lime Agave) and the Blue Window food truck (Moroccan Chicken plate and Lamb Gyro wrap) which was so delicious! The live music was amazing and added such a great vibe to the place! Way to go Gizmo's! Loved it! We will be back again and again!!!

Tasting flight of six. The gear-shaped tasting glass holder is cute.

Small brewery near the Glenwood Ave. entrance of Umstead State Park. Doesn't look like much from the outside since it's on a street with a bunch of not-so-great temporary-looking industrial buildings. Their building is small, with a bar and only 3 big tables. They do have a whole lot of beers for people to try though. Tasting flight for six 4-oz pours is $12. Out of the ones I tried Beekeeper honey wheat ale: sweet and light. I liked it. Golden Ale-ment: another one of their lighter brews. Tasted alright. Hop Chocolate IPA: Didn't really taste the chocolate, but a whole lot of hops and bitterness (highest IBU beer they had when I went) especially on the first sip. After a while I got used to it. The peanut butter beer with the long name: A bit of peanut butter flavor. Kind of gimmicky. Coffee Stiletto stout: Definitely had the coffee flavor. Tasted alright. Hoppy Sour: That was really sour. That was the most sour beer I ever had and it was kind of a shock on first sip. After a couple more sips it wasn't that bad. So overall they got some interesting beers. Some good, some more weird than good. Worth trying for the local beer/microbrew enthusiasts.

The last time I was at this location, it was Roth Brewing. Why have I waited so long to check Gizmo out?! The world will never know. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised with their beers today. Today there was a HALF PRICE HOLIDAY special! Say what?! A delicious draft beer for $2.50. Started off with a Beekeeper so you say you do not like wheat beers? I think that you would definitely enjoy this honey wheat, it was delicious and easy to drink. But, hands down our favorite was the Coffee Stiletto Stout! Boyfriend and I both thought that this was comparable and better than the Highland Thunderstruck Coffee Porter. We were sad to hear that they do not offer growler fills of this beer though. Looking for a food option, check out their website to see what food truck will be there on that day. Or, eat a few bags of the free chips that they have on the bar/tables. Looking for fun games? Play one of the many games that they have to offer such as giant Jenga, darts, cornhole and giant Connect Four. On your way out the door pick up a bottle, or growler, of your favorite beer before you depart. This time I left with a Gizmo Aztec Gold which is brewed with Videri Chocolate and vanilla beans, I hope that it is delicious! We will definitely be back next time we are out and about in that area.

I was actually a little nervous going in because certain Chinese dishes tend to upset my stomach, so I tried to avoid some of the heavier noodle and chicken dishes that normally do that to me. Honestly, I think that was the best decision because I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and felt completely fine afterwards. I started with the crab rangoons, which were perfectly creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside -- absolutely delicious. Then I tried the pork-filled bao buns, which was my first time ever having them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them too. Everyone else at our table seemed to really enjoy their food as well. I genuinely didn't hear a single complaint. We also ordered some drinks that were delicious, and both our server and the rest of the staff were absolutely fantastic and very welcoming throughout the night. The atmosphere and vibes inside are honestly one of the coolest parts of the experience. It somehow feels like a mix between a brewery, a florist, a bookstore, and a Chinese restaurant all at once. It's such an interesting and unique space that doesn't really feel like anywhere else. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would absolutely come back to try more items on the menu.

I stopped in just a they were opening on a Friday and thank goodness I showed up when I did, this place gets packed quick and you should book a reservation to be on the safe side. I was most excited about the duck egg rolls but ended up being my least favorite not because they were slightly on the dry side. Flavor was good, and the hoisin honey sauce really helped! The seafood dumplings were second best, stuffed full. The soup based was amazing and it also came with some bread for dipping in the leftover sauce. The pork and chive shumai were my favorite! A little bit bigger than bit sized but worth the mouth full! Absolutely would recommend. I'll 100% be back for more food. The bar side looked to be more casual, the dinning room was full of high tea attire so I did feel a little under dressed, thought it would be slightly more casual. They have the cutest library with free books to read but only while you dine in. The flower and book shop are in the middle of the space. Super cute, limited options but great for a last minute bouquet!

The service is always fun and i enjoy the open atmosphere. This Belgian-inspired brasserie continues to be one of my go-to destinations for great food, craft beer, and one of the best Painkillers in town. My must-order dish is always the crispy beer-battered pollock paired with their perfectly seasoned truffle fries. The fish is light, flaky, and fried to golden perfection, but the real star might be their housemade tartar sauce--it's absolutely addictive. A few other standouts from our table included: Savory risotto topped with seared shrimp and blistered tomatoes The NRBC Juicy Burger loaded with onion straws and beer cheese Every dish was packed with flavor, and it's easy to see why this spot remains a local favorite. Whether you're stopping in for a craft beer, cocktails, or a hearty meal, this is a place that's always worth the visit.

I had the Export Stout for my drink. I am a coffee stout fanatic, and this one was pretty meh. I wasn't getting a lot of coffee notes from it, and it didn't feel as full-bodied as most stouts I've had. Not horrible, but I wasn't overly enthused. However food-wise, the meatball and ricotta pizza was my jam. I love ricotta anything, and the dough had a great chew to it. We stayed basically right up until closing, and the vibes definitely got less hospitable the closer to closing it got. 10 minutes before closing, we were asked to pour our beers into a plastic cup from our glass cups. I've never had that experience at any brewery before. A bit odd lol - like closing right on time was the priority at all costs over the customer experience. But overall, we had a decent first visit, and I would come back.

We had a 70 degree surprise January day while we were there, so we did just that. We started our brunch with a couple of drinks: a bloody mary and an iced coffee. The bloody mary had a nice kick. Just the right amount of spice without going overboard. The iced coffee was smooth, not bitter at all, and honestly a great pairing if you're not in the mood for booze. To start, we shared the Dill Pickle Pimento Cheese with ripple-cut fries. I'm a sucker for pimento cheese and this one was outstanding. The dill relish gave it a tangy, fresh twist that worked so well with the creamy cheese. Scoop it up with those crispy ripple fries and you're golden. It's a shareable appetizer, but honestly, I'd come back just for that. For my lunch, I had the Chicken Caesar Pita. This isn't your average Caesar wrap. It was tasty, I wasn't expecting the chicken to be pulled, but it was pull juicy, marinated chicken, tons of Tuscan kale for a hearty bite, and generous shavings of parmesan. The charred Caesar dressing brought it all together with that smoky, savory flavor. The pita bread held everything nicely without getting soggy, and the portion was just right: filling, but not overwhelming. Service was super friendly and paced perfectly, not rushed, but never left waiting. Menu options looked creative and inclusive, with plenty for vegetarians and craft beer lovers, too. We had a great experience and I'll definitely be recommending it to friends who are going to Raleigh!
