Adorable venue. The family likes to take a trip out here at least once a summer (we would go more often if it was closer). The turkey burgers are very good. I like the turkey burger with cheese/bacon. I've also had the cheeseburgers which are good. Definitely have one of the root beer drinks. My favorite is the black cow - ice cream and root beer mixed together....yum :) Part of the experience is sitting around the counter outside in the summer. However if they are really busy or you have a larger group there are plenty of picnic tables in the back. read more

White Turkey Drive in Conneaut Ohio Since so many have given a review of this place, Im going to tell you the truth. When we first came to this town, everyone talk about the "White Turkey Drive-in", Oh my, we couldn't wait till Memorial day when they open. At the time we were staying right down the street, so when they opened we were one of the first to go. What a disappointment, the turkey tasted like it was from last years Thanksgiving that had been sitting in the freezer for six months, the root beer was dreadful and the fries were Ore-Ida. I couldn't believe what they were serving. To top it off, they were charging 4.75 for a 1/2 cup scoop of old turkey and a store bought hamburger bun. REALLY!!! This has to be one of the biggest disappointments I have ever had at any food establishments, I love street food and small mom and pop corner stores, but I would never think that after all these wonderful reviews, that this drive-in would have such overpriced, sub par food. If you go, tell them the truth, although it may hurt, it might do them some good. After all they've been there for over 60 years, and I guarantee the founder would rollover in his grave if he knew what they had done to his wonderful little drive-in. read more

Review from 2019! Just ate a great meal at White Turkey Drive In, Conneaut, Ohio, for the first time in almost 20 years. It is a great place to have either Lunch or Dinner. I had the Large Marge Turkey Sandwich with Bacon and Cheese. You do not need any toppings. The Turkey melts in your mouth and is so juicy. I also had their fantastic crinckle fries and a Cheese Dog. Finally, I had one of their famous Root Beer Floats. It is cold and tasty served with a spoon to eat the Ice Cream on top. I also mixed what was left of the Ice Cream into the root beer and it was divine! I highly recommend this place for a stop along the way to Erie. So incredibly good! I don't know what they do to their turkey, but it is juicy deliciousness! The right amount of saltiness, bun is delicious as well with the signature dot of coarse salt right on the top! Chili cheese fries are tasty! MUST have a Richardson's root beer, and make it a float! Awesome, authentic drive-in food experience in the middle of nowhere. Forget Sonic, that stuff is garbage. This place has great beverages, deep fried everything and every land animal pulled or grilled into sandwich form. Vegetarians, you might want to pack a granola bar or something. Also crazy cheap. It is located out in rural as can be Ashtabula county, which i believe is 80% trailers, 20% actual buildings. My in-laws took me there, and informed me it was a stop along the way for grandma and grandpa's trips to Niagara Falls. Yes, they took Route 20 all the way there. It took close to eight hours. Oh, man! I love White Turkey. I've been going here for years. Even though I no longer live in Conneaut, I always make a point to eat at WT when I visit. It's such a fun place and a bright spot in northeast Ohio. Clean, well-maintained, and beautifully landscaped, White Turkey is a throwback to the 1950s walk-up soda shop/burger stand. They play oldies music on the jukebox, and serve classic fare. My standard order is two cheeseburgers and a large root beer. Sometimes I'll mix in an order of fries, which are good too. I love the cheeseburgers so much, that I don't even bother with the turkey sandwiches (which are good too). They sprinkle a teeny bit of flaked salt onto the bun of every burger. It's my favorite detail! While it is fun to sit at the counter, I prefer the back area with the picnic tables. I'm not a fan of the loud semis driving by at high speeds on Route 20. The employees and owner's family are always very nice. Highly recommend visiting WT next time you're in the area of NE Ohio or NW PA. read more

The root beer float is a must. They have a Super Shuper size, which is in a goblet that I recommend for your first time. A 32 oz. root beer float. This is a nice old place to grab lunch. Concession food, but it is really better than your average concession food. They make their own root beer, and it's pretty tasty with ice cream in it! They pile high the ice cream on the floats. You have to eat down the ice cream before you get to the root beer. Get a large, not a regular, because the large is a few cents more for a lot more. Average price range, and being a concession stand, it's all outdoor seating. The tables behind the stand are situated amongst flowers, which are very pretty, but there are lots of bees.There is also the option of sitting at the bar stools. read more
