We did not expect to find a French place anywhere in the vicinity, but we did. We had such a great time at Restaurant O, we went back a second night. We made reservations for Friday at 5. When we showed up, we were greeted by Patricia and instantly fell in love with the look and feel of the place as well as Patricia's hospitality and attentiveness. The menu blew us away-- it had all the things: Foie Gras, Oysters, Escargot, Tartare... the list goes on. We're used to enjoying this type of menu in Portland, but finding it in tiny Coos Bay was a real treat. The wine list was fabulous. Everything we had was prepared with great care and presentation. We were treated like royalty. Thanks for making our 10th special, Patricia and Restaurant O! I highly recommend this lovely dining experience.

We had reservations and the hostess took us to an upstairs dining area with a beautiful view of the bay. We brought our own wine and Bill was great and opened both bottles. The room was nicely decorated with various pieces of art along the walls and on the tables. The appetizers of pork belly buns, truffle fries, and Thai spiced steak tare tare were wonderful. Chef O also sent us a complimentary appetizer as the food took a little longer. It was very nice of him to do so. Bill told us they were down one chef and had the party of 30. I had the dungeness crab and prawn linguine, our friend had the special of the day with steak and prawns, and my hubby had the ribeye. Everything was tasty. Definitely go back again.

The sign is quite faded so we were not sure that this was the NoBe food pod we had read about. It was nearly 2:00 and we were starving. So we pulled in, there are 3 carts SweetHeart's Chicks and Shakes, Amigas and West Coast Bitez. Bitez was shuttered, so we had Sweetheart's and Amigas to choose from. We both went with SweetHearts's. Fabulous choice. I went with the Chicken Poutine my partner went with the Chicken breast and fries. We sat down to wait for our meal. The picnic tables were very nice, clean and sturdy, the area had the outdoor grass laid out. We had maybe a 10 -15min wait. Seems we got the last lunch of the day as Sweethearts had had such a busy lunch rush. When we tucked into our meal we found out why she had won so many awards and sold out by 2:00pm. Portions are grandma generous, chicken though boneless breast meat, is very moist and tender. Chicken crust is thin and perfectly crunchy. My poutine was nicely spicy with a sausage gravy. Which I suspect was pork gravy, did some guilt eating on this. But it was so good. The fries are phenomenal, interesting shell like shape, but perfectly crispy and golden .

Maybe I am a little picky, I just found it hard to find anything that sounded appealing. We settled on sharing some BBQ wings, which had a decent flavor. Nothing to write home about, or rush here for. I also decided on a French dip, which comes with horse radish. I figured you can't go wrong with that. Definitely a nope! I sent it back. I am not a person who sends food back, or complains about food. I just could not eat it, it was so bad. I had to have my guy even try a bite to make sure it wasn't my post 2023 Covid mishaps taking over. ( I can't eat certain foods, or tastes certain foods.) it wasn't that, because that is usually just eggs, bacon, and chicken it happens with. And he also agreed, the meat tasted weird. Not bad, just weird. Like what is it? Not even the horseradish was helping. Thankfully we were not charged. Our friend liked his clam chowder bowl, and cheesecake. Hopefully the other restaurants here are better.

Even though I had a most complicated relationship with him, I still have fond memories of him and miss him. My son and husband ate here about a year prior and have never stopped talking about it and promised to bring me on our next trip. I have a weird dietary restriction, but I could eat off this menu and anything I wanted, which made me soooooo happy. I had the pork roulade and a raspberry beer for dinner. On Sunday I had the Bananas foster French toast. All of the food was excellent, well crafted and well served. We had the caramel pecan cheesecake and my husband, who is the biggest critic and curmudgeon around desserts, was in love with it. I saw a few reviews that the food wasn't authentic, but as it happened the table next to us was a German gentleman (from Germany ) and he seemed absolutely delighted with ALL of it. As was the ghost of my stepfather. It definitely has an old school dark wood, typical German vibe going back to the late 80's/90's. If you want something hip and trendy, well, go somewhere else.
