My friends and I rode our ATV's over to this quaint little town for a drink and lunch. When we walked in the door of the Up the Creek the bartender scolded us for not calling ahead. When a few of my friends ordered Bloody Mary's the bartender pointed at her and said "you're last!" She was rude from the moment we walked in. We ended up getting food next door, which was awesome. And the guy had a different attitude apologizing for being out of certain things. Btw bartender, the gal that placed the first order, for a Bloody Mary, owns a very successful 165 yr old historic hotel and bar in the old mining town of Washington, California. She was giving you a break with the attitude, but you just kept dishing it out. Rude!!! read more

They removed my review because it was so bad. But you get another one so people know about you. YIKES! Definitely a local dive. Wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the mouth and attitude from the bartender on Sat night. Wish I got her name so the owners know, but the regulars certainly know who she is. How some people hold jobs is beyond me. Literally 5 people in the bar on karaoke night, including the 2 of us, and ordering a vodka lemonade, or alternatively a lemon drop martini because she was out of lemonade, was apparently too much to ask. I guess muddling lemon and vodka is too complicated for this chick because everything that came out of her mouth after I ordered was obnoxious and rude. I had to wheel and deal with her just to get a drink similar to what I wanted. I ended up with something that had some sour mix and some other weirdness in it, I have no idea. I don't even know what it was. Some customers may like that rude "do what I want" bartender vibe, as if it's keeping it real, but you don't have to be rude and drop F bombs left and right to keep it real. I even spoke about it to a couple customers and to the bartender herself, that that sort of attitude either works for you or against you. She openly stated she did not give one F about customers opinions of her service or reviews about the business. And it shows! In this case, I think this bar is losing business because of this particular bartender. Definitely lost my family's business. People don't come to spend money on an evening out to listen to obnoxious language coming from some trashy bartender who thinks it's cool to speak like that. Clean it up a bit. Act like a lady and hostess that has self respect and appreciates her job and respects the customers she's serving because we are why you have a job. I'll just say there's definitely better choices in Lakeside or Reedsport area to go, especially if the owners allow their employees to act this way. read more

This is a great little place, tucked away in downtown Lakeside Oregon. The people here are proud of their little town, and it's history. Vacationers come in droves in the summer to enjoy the dunes, fishing, hiking, and Ten Mile lake. Nice local bar. It has stepped up its game since I was a kid. It used to be the sportsman and only a tavern. I love me a local beer and wine tavern but I also enjoy a nice whisky and beer combo. Four of us rode from the dunes into Lakeside for lunch on 04/22/23. We decided to try Up The Creek Tavern and were horribly disappointed. We walked in and sat at a table; the bartender never acknowledged us even though it was not very busy. At one point she walked out from behind the bar, and we thought she was going to come over and take our order, but instead she went over and had a conversation with an individual on the video poker machine and then went back behind the bar. After waiting quite a while, we all agreed she was intentionally not taking our order, so we all got up and left. The next place we went was Osprey Point Pub and Pizza in Lakeside and the service and food was great. We left a tip that was 50 percent of the final bill for our server. read more

Best little dive bar around, not to mention the only bar for probably 200 miles that stays open until 230 every single night 365 days a year they let you gamble until the machines shut down them self's the casino don't even do that anymore. The food is amazing. Make sure to try the calosal burger, but only if you're hungry cause that thing is stacked. The bartenders are a one man show, and they are really good at handling the crowd of people cooking cleaning and serving drinks all at the same time with a smile on their face the hole time they are sweet and sassy and they will take good care of you as long as your patient and respectfull. Very nice little small town bar for sure they have changed staff completely in the past two year and these girls are amazing so if you had a bad experience in the past try them again you will be plesently surprised good food stiff drinks and rocking bartenders it doesn't get any better this read more

The atmosphere is fun and enjoyable. It was noisy so you had to talk loud but that's expected because they were having Karaoke night..woo hoo!!! Staff and customers were friendly and welcoming. We ordered cheeseburgers, fish and chips, and steak fingers with Goop. Didn't know what goop was until I came to their tavern. Also had a Cadillac Margarita and enjoyed the locals singing "Hit me Baby one more time!" while I waited for our take out food, it was very delicious and hit the spot. read more

Stopped in on vacation and had the best time here! Had that small, coastal town feel inside that I love to see when I'm heading down the 101. Good drinks and beer on tap. Burger was delicious and had a great chat with some local fisherman. The owner happend to be in as well and gave me a great history story of the town. Ok if you don't want friendly service, frome most or the employees! Their is the potential you will luck into good service, just get the right server. It's possible! Don't go to sing at this keryoke bar though. I wrote a review because I was frustrated about going to have drinks and sing, while I was spending my money there. The " DJ" who asked to sing with me cut me off afterwords because I wanted to sing alone! When feeling frustrated for being treated porely at a bar I hung out at and spent my money at because it was close. I was 86ed for writing a poor review! (See facebook, which I have been unfriended from) No conversation! No asking what happened! It's ok, I was looking to let this business have the opportunity to re earn my business and money.
