The TCL Chinese Theatre itself is a historical theater, which can be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. The inside is super interesting - very "old school" Hollywood. The adjacent mall provides validated parking for $3 and is also fun to explore. The downside is that it's an old movie theater, so sound quality isn't the best. I also had to crawl over multiple people to get to my seat on the far right side, because there were no stairs on the right. I don't know if this would be my go-to IMAX theater, but I think it's worth watching a movie here at least once.

The seats are uncomfortable, too much flex. The screen itself is good quality, but halfway through our showing the screening glitched and they had to stop and restart for 5 minutes. Never had that happen. Concessions are just average and bathrooms were okay but weirdly placed. Overall the picture and sound were good but didn't blow me away. Of course, the history of it all is interesting, but can't really escape from the skivviness of Hollywood Blvd right in front. I wouldn't go back to this theater.

It's such a nostalgic movie theater with a person at the one box office who greets you warmly and is nicely dressed in a vest, the cartoon countdown from 10 minutes to it's time for the show, a classic confessions person taking your food and drink orders to the detailed orientated rugs and fun designed lighting fixtures. The restrooms are clean and modernized. The lighting could be a bit brighter. Inside of the theaters is a fun experience. It's as if we're transported back in time with it's art deco style on the walls, plush and roommy seats that start with many seats in the back then goes to two seater aisles the closer one gets to the screen. The screen it self is hidden behind a plush or velvet curtain until it's time to watch the other movie previews, watch a cartoon about going to the concession booth or the hilarious "Turn Off Your Cellular Phones" Victorian opera style. I caught a matinee which was a great price and the other attendees enjoyed the movie! I love this theater!

Hollywood's Egyptian is a historic landmark on Hollywood Blvd. It's a cinema hub and an absolute must for anyone. I've seen so many great films here over the years and run into so many cool actors, actress, filmmakers and people of note. Even sat one seat over from Rose McGowan and her assistant during the TCM film fest one year. As of 2020 Netflix owns the theatre and showcases their project here. And lots of current and classic films like Taxi Driver, Gaslight (1944), LA LA Land, Terminator 2, Spirited Away, Nope, and numerous others. They undergo preservation and renovations periods from time to time and are actually closed for the summer of 2026 due to technical upgrades, but will reopen in the fall. Even though the main screening area, aka the Lloyd E. Rigler Theatre, can hold up to 516 people, it feels intimate and spacious all at once - very grand and very Hollywood. There's a smaller 78 person theater as well, known as the Steven Spielberg Theatre. I believe it's used more so for private screenings than anything. Concessions are thoughtful, somewhat limited and a touch pricey. Normally, tickets themselves for shows start at around $15. However, they are only $12 for students, children and seniors. Restrooms are ADA accessible on the main floor. General restrooms are actually downstairs. The Egyptian is typically open up to 30 minutes or so before shows, though during the Turner Classic Movie Film Festival and other events hours can vary. Love going to screenings and events here when possible, looking forward to my next movie going experience here in the future.

Today, it serves as Disney's home for world premieres, special events, live stage shows, and screenings of both new releases and beloved classics. The theater's stunning architecture and historic significance even earned it Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument status. I have seen countless Disney films here over the years and every visit feels special. The atmosphere, the themed displays, and the beautifully restored interior make it feel much more memorable than a typical movie theater outing. Another bonus is the convenient parking. Super grateful Aaron, thank you brotha. Anyways this is hands down the best AMC theater I've ever been to which includes the South Bay in the Bay area, OC and South LA and this is why below- Parking: You need to pull up the email with your reservation and there is a bar code at the bottom to validate your parking. If you don't have it, you can do this inside the help desk at AMC. Citywalk: After you park you need to go through security to enter the citywalk. I brought a backpack in with my computer one time. I also brought in full water bottles but the other time I came I had to empty it so not sure what the protocol is. I walked in and immediately saw the Odyssey Trojan Horse at the entrance which is now gone :( Inside AMC: It's two stories tall, first floor has a huge concession area where you pick up what you want and pay at the counter. There's so many tables and seating on both side of the concession area with soda machines too on on the left side. There's theaters and one set of bathrooms on both sides. Upstairs is a three more theaters, one is your 70mm IMAX. Another bathroom and a full bar with seating. My favorite part was seeing the actual wardrobes of the actors in the Odyssey on display along with an IMAX camera. 70mm IMAX Experience: Every seat gives you an substantial different experience of the movie. I was at the start of the second section of seating and I was looking up, I was a row behind another time and it felt way better, I went a third time and sat at the second row to the back and it was perfect. From my experience, the farther you are the better since the screen is so big. I literally felt like I was at a ride at a theme park on how different the IMAX was. You can see the little imperfections of the film with black dots but it was crystal clear than Laser and other formats. The only downside is if you are sitting in the middle and need to get out during the movie, GOOD LUCK! The seats are super close together with barely any legroom. Other than that, can't wait to see Dune Part 3 here! Shoutout to Christopher Nolan with another blockbuster of a movie though. I'm so glad I saw the Odyssey for the first time here to experience greatness. Auramenmon looked even cooler walking like Darth Vader on that IMAX screen.
