** PSA*** Did you know that when you call and make an appointment for your vehicle, its with the service advisor. The appointment you make , with date and time, is NOT with the service technician, it is with the service advisor, the one who cannot repair your car. Yep you heard me correctly. How do I know this? Well my family lived it and Ms. Cameron in service confirms this. See the story below: My son made an appointment (one week in advance) for 10/28/24 at 9am, for his GMC Canyon. He wanted the front end checked out, he had some rubbing and squeaking. He also requested an oil change, and transmission flush. After not hearing anything from Ms. Cameron concerning an update or an estimate in a timely considerate manner, my son calls/texts her around 330pm 10/28/2024, the technician confirms my son needs front brakes and rotors. Calipers were rusted but told they were in working order. Service closes at 5pm. No way it will be finished. What did you do for six and half hours? What if he waited for his truck to be completed? Now were into the next day ; the truck spent the night at the dealership, my son and his family are inconvenienced at this point, they have my vehicle, which now inconvenience's me. On 10/29/2024 around 1137am I call the dealership, because the service person, Cameron, cant make updated phone calls to inform people of the status of their vehicles. She informs me that all that is left is the brake job. At 230 this afternoon we were able to pick up my sons truck. WHY did it take 36 hours for a front pad and rotors, oil change and transmission flush? When you call and make a service appointment why is it with the service advisor and not the technician (per Cameron)? When I hung up the phone with Ms. Cameron my cell phone caller ID showed "Garvey Auto Group" (We chose Whiteman's because we assumed it was a family run business). If that is the case and Garvey is involved with Whiteman's, its no wonder we received crappy service and it took 36 hours for the minor /standard mechanic repairs to be completed in an UNtimely manner. When I call and make a doctors, dentist or any other appointment for a certain time, it stands to reason that I will see the professional in that time frame, not the next day?!. This is NOT the first time we have had an appointment and the vehicle wasn't looked at till way later in the day. This happened to us in July 2024 for his Rear brakes. We thought it was a fluke and one time thing, bad day etc. Apparently it is standard practice at this dealership. You guys are making Warren Tire look better and better. read more

What an amazing service department. My suburban broke down on Sunday after hauling my camper into Lake George RV park. I called first thing Monday and even though they were booked out two weeks they were able to get a tech right on it and had it fixed and back on the road before the end of the day. We were due to leave the next morning. Don't know what we would have done if they didn't take care of us. read more

I was in recently and was treated deployable. My husband, and several of his friends have purchased cars from them too. I was asked to leave if I wasn't purchasing today. What a joke. He didn't even let me test drive one lol. How is a person supposed to know if they are buying a car without test driving it ??? I don't typically write reviews for businesses like car dealerships as generally I try to avoid car dealerships as much as possible. Today's experience at Whiteman is an example as to why. Made an appointment the day before so I wasn't a walk-in. Anyway, it took a full hour just to do an oil change, nothing else...no tire rotation, nothing. Yeah yeah they say they do a however many point inspection, but we all know they just do a really quick look, honk the horn blah blah. Amazingly (sarcasm) all 4 of my tires measured the exact same psi and the depth of my brakes measured the exact same...weird...I wonder if they skipped that? Must have since the tire pressure sensors on my car's computer were way different than the print out they gave me...20 point inspection my butt. They also raised their price of an oil change 10 bucks since the last time just a handful of months ago. 5 bucks I can live with, but 10? Come on. It's an oil change. Time to find a new oil changer joint. read more

They were extremely friendly as they sold me a Jeep that had covered up rust above one of the back tires. Stay away from them.

If zero stars was an option, that would be my choice. I would not buy a go-cart from Whiteman Chevrolet. We took delivery of a brand new Chevrolet Silverado Black Widow from an out of state dealership. The vehicle had an issue downloading On-Star so we were advised to contact the closest dealership (or the dealership we bought from was willing to get it in, but that's 4 hours each way). Unfortunately for us, that closest dealership was Whitemans. They can not (actually will not) get us in for over 3 weeks although they were happy to tell my husband, it could be an electrical issue and they may need to keep it 3-4 weeks in order to fix the brand new vehicle. We asked to speak with the head of service, he was ruder than the service rep ( I'm still in awe that was even possible) . We then asked for the GM, miraculously he was not available. He must be really important and terribly busy, since it's been over a week and he still hasn't called me back. We looked outside the area because of the lack of availability. But because of the service, we will be sure to not spend any of our hard earned money at Whitemans ever again. Just for the record, we've bought several vehicles from Whiteman Chevrolet. we simply will not make that mistake again. I'd advise all potential customers to buy from a different dealership even if you have to go 4 hours away to do it. read more

These guys are AWESOME! I was far from home (Cincinnati, OH), on a road trip when I heard the most horrendous noise coming from my wheel-well. We found this dealership/service with the Chevy app, and went here. They were incredibly busy, but they squeezed us in, discovered a small pebble had lodged in between two somethings, fixed it and got us on the road. The best part: no charge They were super friendly and very competent. If you live around here, you're lucky to have such an awesome and knowledgeable service staff! read more

No stars here. Having just moved here from northern New York about three weeks ago and in an attempt to establish a relationship with the local Chevrolet dealer we arranged for service on our 2011 Chevy Silverado pickup. I've never been treated so poorly by anyone in a car dealership in my life. After checking the truck over and paying a bill totaling $1326 for a variety of problems that probably didn't exist, we thought we were all set. This company recommended a transmission flush at 50,000 miles while the manufacturer recommends fluid change at 100,000 miles according to the owners manual. Within a short amount of time (3 weeks, 500 miles) after this service was done, my truck started having problems. I was told we needed a new transmission to the tune of $4000+. When my son (a mechanic) went to the dealership to speak with someone about it and had the audacity to infer that someone might be taking advantage of customers he was asked by the service manager to leave and was told I should come and get my vehicle. The dealership released the vehicle to my son without even consulting me. I was charged over a $100 for the diagnosis and given a scribbled handwritten estimate for the cost of repair. We took our truck to the dealership of purchase in Ogdensburg where we've always been treated as a valued customer. Less than $50 later and a new torque converter we are up and running with no problems. It seems the Whiteman company has had some personnel changes resulting in the current state of affairs there. I cannot stress enough- STAY AWAY! I am beyond disappointed in the current customer experience at the Dix Ave Whiteman facility. read more

Sadly we've had the worst experience with Whiteman's. I will never go back and I will never spend another dime with them! We bought a Chevy equinox in July 2019 and we have had numerous problems with the car. Monday there was an inter failure with the transfer case. ( the 7th problem we've had within 7 months) My husband brought the car in and and Tuesday they decided to tell us it'll be over $3000 to fix! They would NOT work with us as we explained to them all the problems we've had since they sold us the car! They refused to listen to anything we had to say and basically told us it was our problem!! The manager of used cars Kurt Wilhelm I would NEVER recommend to anyone. He had nothing to say and didn't even try to help us out after i explained 100 times that this was not ok! I'm sorry but for someone with a page that says " we are home of friendly service and fair deals"'is a lie! "Fair deals" where is the fair deal when you also returned our car to us with the transfer case more messed up then when we dropped it off Monday, now it's leaking oil all over! But you didn't care as you charged us $56 because you looked at our car! Pretty messed up. Secondly i love how they didn't care that their service department broke the transfer case even more causing an oil leak now. and on top of that the "service" that was done for us in August was for broken motor mounts!! So not only did you not see that it had broken motor mounts before you put it on the lot but you are trying to say that the entire drivetrain brings able to rock around in the car wouldn't cause any damage to anything and the bottom line is you refused to stand behind a vehicle that you sold someone! Kurt also felt the need when i wrote a review on FB to tell the world that i couldn't afford the $3000 it is not ok to tell someones business to the world especially as a business man! I've never dealt with such jerks in my life! I will make sure THAT EVER person i come in contact with KNOWS NEVER TO DO BUSINESS WITH WHITEMAN's on Dix ave in glens falls! YOU DESERVE NO STARS! read more

I made the MISTAKE of purchasing a brand new truck from this place. I could write a book about my bad experiences with this place. The worst is the PUSHY salesmen trying to sell me another truck. They started in when my truck was still new. Even worse than the salesmen is the woman they have giving courtesy calls the evening before your scheduled appointment. She is very nice but has an irritating phone voice and comes across as very insecure. I have never experienced a courtesy call like that before. She even asked me if she could purchase my Avalanche! I had to hold the phone an arm's length away from my ear because the voice was so annoying. Instead of just getting the the point of the call she carried on for quite a while. First and hopefully last annoying courtesy call I have ever had. She could not have been nicer. Even if she was trained properly I don't think there is much that can be done about her voice. read more

i can honestly say i will never use them again. went for a oil change and inspection. after an hour was told the low beams didn't work and a $95 diagnostic fee would be required. i said change the bulb it has happened before. well $100 to install two light bulbs is highway robbery. they had a little remorse and dropped the price to $ 80. i was told it would only take 15 minutes to install. well if they get $100 for 15 minutes i am in the wrong business. save yourself some money and go elsewhere. i wouldn't even give one star but it's required to post review. read more
