I wish I could give a ten star review to the team at Whitemarsh Jewelers. The quality of their diamonds is absolutely remarkable but it is the quality of service that is unlike any other. John, Helene and Stephanie are simply the best. They are all so helpful, kind and extremely genuine. My now Fiance, Kevin, once asked me what kind of ring I liked while watching a cheesy rom com. I nearly died of excitement, went on Pinterest, found a picture of my dream ring and sent it to him. We never talked about it again - until the day he proposed! I later found out that Kevin took that one photo to John and they both worked on custom designing it together. I was in awe when I saw it because it was a way better version of the ring I showed Kevin. John also took the time to explain cut, clarity and color to Kevin. This has made Kevin an expert when it comes to evaluating other peoples' rings because we know that we got the best of the best :) Kevin and I went to the shop together because I had to get my ring resized. I walked through the door and immediately felt like I was part of the family. I was welcomed with such warmth and happiness. I was just in between sizes and John was kind enough to recommend two sizing beads which allowed the diamond to fall perfectly on my finger. While we were getting it resized, we also got my wedding band and it is absolutely stunning. I just couldn't be happier or more grateful. We will never go anywhere else! John and Colleen are wonderful and we have gotten some beautiful items from them. Service is impeccable and the settings here are gorgeous. Prices are pretty fair although I wouldn't buy an engagement ring here just because it is a better deal to buy the stone and setting separately. The pendants here are definitely worth looking at if you're getting a loved one a nice gift, say for a birthday or anniversary. read more

About four years ago, i posted a review that i sincerely regret. I had just lost my mom and was in a very bad place in my life. John has gone above and beyond any jeweler I have ever been to, and I have been to quite a few. I was with him for many many years and would not go anywhere else!!! I very highly recommend him to anyone who wants to go to a nice, honest jeweler. I wish I could take back my awful review from 4 years ago but I cannot. I went in to see him today to make my amends. Yes--It took me a long time but i was honestly afraid of his reaction to me. He was wonderful ! His wife, Helene is a sweetheart as well. Before my mom passed she always went there and loved them too! I feel really good that i finally got the nerve to apologize to him because he did NOT deserve what I said at all!!! I had a few watches that needed battery replacement. They actually weren't able to replace them but sent them out for no extra charge (less than $10). The watches came back with the time and date set etc. Another watch needed a tune-up (didn't work even after batter was replaced) and they also arranged to have it sent out. It came back within a week or so and seems to be working well. I would much rather come here for these services than go to a chain store in the mall. After a terrible experience with a jeweler in the Chestnut Hill area, we went to John who not only got us a beautiful engagement ring put together, he got us a great price on it as well. He was friendly, professional, and very informative throughout the whole process. We recently had it resized at no charge and John actually delivered it to our house. TERRIBLE AWFUL NO GOOD VERY VERY BAD!!! I had a terrible experience with this jeweler. Although they admit that they did excessive damage to a piece of jewelry I brought there to be repaired, they refuse to provide a refund for service, or cover the substantial additional costs that we'll incur just to fix the damage. They've been belligerent with me, and absolutely awful to deal with. Their work is TERRIBLE, their attitudes ATROCIOUS, and their policies unlawful. STAY AWAY!!! read more

My engagement ring is from here and I constantly get compliments on it. John was extremely helpful in working with my now husband on finding the perfect diamond and setting that fit my personality and I couldn't be happier. Helene and Stephanie were also a huge help when it came down to finding a great matching wedding band and jewelry for the day of my wedding. I have nothing but great things to say about this family-owned business. First, I have received two necklaces from this store as gifts. Pretty much every time I wear them I get compliments on them. ALL THE TIME! Second, my fiance went here to purchase my engagement ring. He didn't know anything about diamonds, cut, clarity, or any of the settings, but I swear he is a professional now and knows a LOT more than me about rings! He said that he spent time browsing around, found some that caught his eye, and then the owner spent an amazing amount of time educating him on diamonds, cuts, color, clarity, showed him options, and really wanted to make him comfortable with the process. My fiance said he felt very confident after having made his decision on what to get - and that the owner did not pressure him in any way. He just wanted to make sure my fiance was comfortable with making a decision on his purchase, and through educating my fiance on the entire process, my fiance was in fact very confident and comfortable. The education part that the owner did, was above and beyond what my fiance was expecting. Thirdly, this is where we went to purchase our wedding rings. We went in, and browsed. I thought they had a great selection for both men and women. We weren't ready to purchase or order anything just yet, and we felt zero pressure to do so. The girl working in there was very laid back, and friendly. The owner came out from the back and it was nice to meet him. We went back at a later date and browsed some more. Tried some on. The owner John showed me the match to my engagement ring and also other rings that would compliment each other. He also showed me some more plain rings that would look nice with my engagement ring, that were more in my price range. He offered suggestions to what would look great with my engagement ring, in all price ranges and left it up to me with what I was comfortable with. Ultimately I ended up getting the more plain wedding band and couldn't be more happy with the purchase. For my future husbands ring, we had ordered one size, and when his ring came in and he tried it on, he realized it felt too tight. John told us he would re-order the ring in a size up for him, and so he did and it came in so fast! We couldn't be more happy with our rings. From the selection of inventory, to the attention from staff, this place is an A+ in my book. For both the big-time purchases such as engagement rings, as well as repairs on any and all jewelry, to finding unique gifts for others. This is a quality business. read more
