My 6-yr old, very expensive GE electric range stopped working last week. The top heating elements were ok-- the oven would not heat. My appliance guy spent three hours on it last week-- even replacing the control panel. He could not fix the range. Before scrapping the unit, I decided on a second opinion. A friend recommended Mark White. Yesterday he poked his head in the oven, fiddled around for 5-10 minutes and concluded I had a faulty temperature probe (thermostat). I went to Fox Appliances, purchased a new FIFTEEN DOLLAR ($15!!!) thermostat, installed it (actually my wife did it), and voila! My range came back to life. I called and set an appointment he asked me to send my address and when someone would be home to a completely different number by text. No one confirmed that they received my info, no one showed up for the appointment, and no one ever called. At worse some shady business, at best a horrible way to run a business. Twice, I scheduled appointments with Mark and he was a "NO SHOW." He never showed up or called to cancel the appointments. For the 1st appointment, he texted me at 11:38pm after he didn't show up for the appointment to say he didn't have my address. He hadn't asked for the address and had prev. been to my home for a repair. Being a bit desperate, I rescheduled with him for 2 days later. Again, he didn't show up and I didn't hear from him. Our GE Upright freezer needed a new relay. I called Mr. White at approximately 7:00 pm on a rainy Monday night. He said he was still in Atlanta, and had two more stops. He got to our house at 10:00 pm. He replaced the relay, fixed the door seal and made a couple of additional adjustments. His work was above and beyond what we expected. Super Service. Called because recommended on nextdoor. Described what happened and what I did. He suggested I check to verify outlet is working. So when I got the extension cord and looked for a plug, I noticed the GFI had popped on the outlet next to the garbage disposal. Pushed the button, fridge started right up. Yay! Free fix! read more

Mark repaired my dryer. He added a new part (the "thermistor" aka thermometer) for $30. Labor was $60 or so. I got the feeling in retrospect that my $90 repair wasn't the amazing price that others in a different area of town got. (We are just east of Dunwoody.) He also took a look at my refrigerator but couldn't address the issue, though he kindly called a friend to see if the friend could tackle it. He pretty quickly determined the fridge was out of his expertise, but took a long time looking at it and chatting with me and the other repairman about it. I do wonder in retrospect if the labor cost included that the chat time. Anyway, Mark was friendly and easy to be around, and I'd probably call him again. I hired him based on good Kudzu reviews. But the tone of the owner (I think) was like he didn't need anymore business or like he just didn't appreciate being bothered with homeowners calling him to come and repair their appliances. Marc White the Owner is entitled, unprofessional & rude. We contacted our property manager because the dryer has been squeaking, and our repairman advised we had a loose screw in drum barrel. Marc White contacted me to schedule the appointment and confirmed via text our appointment for Wednesday 3/26@11am. I called 15 mins into my appointment window to see if he was en route and when he answered he sounded sleep /bothered, then as if he was doing me a favour for even keeping the appointment.  When he finally did arrive he was still rude & disorientated. I welcomed him offered a glass of water and mentioned to him AGAIN what our concerns with the dryer were (loose screw).   Marc White refused to discuss with me what work he was doing and proceeded to take apart my dryer. After several minutes of uninterrupted work I questioned his progress and asked if he had any hypothesis or parts (loose screw?)   He continued to be rude and advised me that he will NOT be discussing ANYTHING with me and only the property manager. I was uncomfortable and asked him to close the dryer and have a nice day. Before he left the property I turned on the dryer. It caught fire and the house filled with black smoke & burning rubber smell (TODDLERS IN THE HOME!) Marc says he did us a favour by destroying the dryer....  He claims the loose screw was actually the entire heating element and drum barrel are out.   Hmph read more
