Magnolia Halle was beautiful inside and out. With in-house catering, setup and linens included in the price, it was perfect for our big day! Also, it is located in an area with lots of hotels nearby, which was extremely helpful for our out of town family and friends. We had about 150 guests at our wedding, and everyone fit comfortably in the Halle. Our guests said that they thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the short ribs. Additionally, Kryssi, the venue coordinator was PHENOMENAL. We booked Magnolia Halle for our wedding venue over a year in advance, and Kryssi was very responsive to our messages and questions throughout the entirety of that time. We were able to visit multiple times before our wedding to envision how our decor would look, and we really appreciate all of the help and attentiveness that Kryssi provided. She is very kind and wonderful, which made our experience of planning our wedding at Magnolia Halle seamless and fun! About a week before our wedding in March 2025, they installed a new projector and A/V system that we were able to utilize and it was a game changer. If you are looking for a beautiful wedding venue without the drive out to the hill country, Magnolia Halle is THE place! It was truly the best day of our lives.

There is an entryway where a table was set up to receive gifts and write a note in a journal. At the end of the evening, this same table held bottles of luxury room fragrances for guests to take home. There was a stage for the band, a decent dance floor. Several carving stations were spread throughout the space. Also, at least four bars staffed with competent bartenders. Expresso martinis seemed to be the drink of the night. A full bar and several beer brands were available. You can leave the indoor space to the wraparound balcony and peer into the zoo and see the city skyline. We were able to see a lady lion prowling around in her lair. If heights bother you, this might not be your thing. It's up there. The only 'miss' is the lack of signage on how to get efficiently out of the parking lot. Especially in the dark. Not straightforward. Even the valet remarked as such. Once out, we drove through several of the park trails until we hit Tuleta and out to Broadway. Getting into the place was much easier. Of course, then it was daylight.

I've attended several luncheons and dinners at this space and have always enjoyed them. Perks include: on-site fountain machines so need to worry about drinks, free parking (just make sure you get a parking pass from the receptionist), professional caterer, and it's located right next to the main library in case you're a bookworm. Cons: It is a larger space and the meeting and event rooms aren't always next to each so you may get a little lost at first but once you figure out where you're supposed to be you're golden. Pro Tip: It can be a little tricky finding the building if you're coming down San Pedro or Main Street. Look for the entrance to the Compass Bank drive thru ATM on your left hand side. You'll see an entrance immediately before the exit of the drive-thru ATM. Enter that entrance and you'll be in the parking lot for the meeting center. OR if you're coming UP Navarro street you'l be able to spot an entrance to it on the left directly across the library.

I heard multiple people say their drinks were too sweet or didn't taste right (including mine). I may be wrong, but I don't think the people working there have English as a first language. Only meaning that when I saw several people trying to get their drinks fix the language barrier was too much to navigate. I was actually rung up twice for the wrong drink and in the end also just let it go. I had one of the type pastries and thought it was only okay. Parking is limited to Outside the venue mostly. The bathrooms seemed fine, but were not set up for use I overheard one woman tell another that "it's a mess in there" before actually going to check it out myself. The wooden play structure is older and seems to be mostly okay. I did see a couple of screws sticking out though. There is also gravel underneath which is not great, but this isn't an actual playground so ‍ I think that if they can hire extra trained staff then this could be a lovely spot for a playdate.
