Nice rest stop by the NJ Parkway 140. They have shake shack, starbucks, Popeyes. I really like Shake Shack so we will go there more often. Those place just opened less than a year ago. It's near my home so it makes it even better. I can go there using local road without getting on the highway. I recommend this place to anyone traveling near there to take a rest stop. Welcome addition to town of Union.

I was quite disappointed with this starbucks. I ordered one drink and it took 22 minutes to be made. It wasn't even during rush hour. It was in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. There were only 2 other customers who were also waiting 15+ minutes for their order. They had 3 workers. I had to ask for my drink at 15-minute mark and they seemed to not have a clue that there was an order placed.

Clean, nice, spacious service center with easy parking, decent seating and enough food choices if you need a quick snack or meal.

My visit here was on October 5, 2019. After some issues debarking the cruise due to technical issues, we got to our driver to get us back to southern New Jersey where we would be staying for a few days before going home. All of us needed to use the restroom, so we stopped at this rest stop. This was a typical rest stop, but not like others I have seen in New Jersey along the turnpike. This rest area had a convenience store and gas. Many of the others have more options than a convenience store, such as fast food restaurants and the such. The good thing is that we weren't looking for any food items, just the restroom. The restrooms here were clean and maintained, which you don't always find at rest areas. The inside was your typical convenience store, but a bit larger. There's lots of snack and drink items here if you are looking for that kind of stuff. There is a Sunoco gas station at this rest area as well if you need gas. Gas was not needed at this time, so there was no stop there. Overall, this was just a rest stop. If you need to get some gas, use the restroom, or just get a few snack type items, this would be a place to stop. Further down, it seemed quite a few of their rest areas were closed for renovations. Although there was nothing to wow me about this place, it did get the job done and back on the road to my destination.

For a rest stop, the restrooms were impressively clean and most importantly smelled great! It definitely exceeded my expectations. They seem to have a really good/big selection of snacks, and the parking lot has many spaces available.

Most people don't get excited about a rest stop, but the Jon Bon Jovi Service Area is actually…read moreworth pulling into. Sure, it has the things you'd expect from a service area on the Garden State Parkway--gas, clean restrooms, convenience items, and a food court with several dining options--but it's also a surprisingly fun place to stretch your legs for a few minutes. The Bon Jovi theme is everywhere. Music videos play throughout the building, memorabilia and displays line the walls, and the whole place feels more like a tribute to one of New Jersey's most famous musicians than a typical highway stop. Don't be surprised if you see people taking photos of the displays while they're there. On a recent stop, I found it clean enough and easy to navigate despite the steady stream of travelers coming through. Standard rest area prices...ouch. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, picking up a quick meal, or just taking a break from the road, it's a pleasant place to stop. It's still a service area at the end of the day, but it's one with a little personality. If you're driving the Parkway and need a break, this is one of the more interesting places to make it. Oh...did I mention they have a Popeye's?!

It's the same service stop for both directions as well, either north or south. The gas station is separate from the rest stop but they do have a store there as well. Convenience store with drinks and snacks. The rest stop building has plenty of parking and some vending machines outside. Shake Shack, Auntie Annie's, Starbucks and a convenience store are here as well. They had a few more stores besides the ones I just named as well. Seating is all in the middle and plenty of it but it also depends on how busy it is. Restrooms were clean and staffed as well to keep it clean. Plenty of JBJ memorabilia here which is very cool as well.
