Dayum is about all is needed to say. It's unbelievable that they are charging $90 for a round with the course being in the condition it's in. From grab grass to poor bunker conditions to the greens being recently punched. NO WAY! this is a $90!track today. Shit, the golf carts even need cleaning. I would normally attribute that to just being a middle of the day round but nope. We were out 1st thing in the morning. These prices they need to invest in the course maintenance. This is a hella nice track but damn. Very disappointing to see a course in this condition for the price. BTW... do you have new mats for the driving range? Almost every mat is worn with holes in them and the signs says mats only but their full of holes, missing tees and ball holders. C'mon!

We had our first baby shower here in the Monument Room. Kelsey assisted me with the prices and catering options and it turned out perfectly. From beginning to end, it was just effortlessly so smooth and it was more than we could for. The attention to detail was very precise. We were also given a staff to help that entire event, to help set up the dining tables, catering and beverage age. Madison was so helpful and we were so happy to have her assist that day. The view was stunning from the Monument Room. Also, the day of, a young gentleman who works at the golf course was driving around in a golf cart and kindly asked if I need help bringing party decorations to the Monument Room. He saw that we had a lot of stuff in the car and that I was pregnant. He kindly loaded things in the golf cart and transported thing to the Monument Room which saved us like 5 trips. I did not get his name but that was so kind of him! We will definitely be booking here again in the future. Thank you for making our baby shower special.

    On course.

Whitney Oaks, no question, is one of the toughest test in area. However, pretty disappointed in course conditions yesterday. Sand traps were horrible and there were about 5-6 trees down from winter that need removal. Be better W.O.

This was the perfect place for our wedding! From the moment we met the events manager, Kelsey, and saw the venue, our decision was an easy one. Kelsey is the nicest, most caring person and she made our experience here at Whitney Oaks a memorable one. Thank you Kelsey for all the planning and support throughout the entire process. Thank you for being so kind and personable to all our family and guests. You always put all our worries to rest whenever we had questions or requests. Everything was beautiful and turned out exactly how I imagined it and you made it stress free. We will recommend Kelsey and the Whitney Oaks team to everyone we meet. We had an amazing time, thank you!!!

I've been playing golf here for 20 years off and on. I have to call out the Executive team at the Thunder Valley Casino. Spend some money on the maintenance of the golf course!!! It does not look like a $70 a round course, It's a mess. I personally give 5 stars to the entire staff at Whitney Oaks Golf Course. The people working there is the only reason I play there and spend the money I spend there. The course is challenging as it is. If I'm going to take a beating from a course, it better be in great condition.

The wife and I recently bought our home here and a friend who happens to live in the same neighborhood took us out to dinner to celebrate our purchase. He recommended we check it out and we're glad we did. Service was a bit trash. I took over 15 minutes to get shots poured. Five to 10 minutes to just order drinks. Another 15 to get them to us. The server was surprised when we just said fuck it and walked up to the bar and got TWO ROUNDS before he brought us our drinks. How does this happen? Maybe it was the bar tender's fault, but it's not like the server ever really checked in on us. It took almost 30 minutes just to get our food order in then once it was in....AN HOUR to get our food. WTF. We came on a Thursday and when we showed up and it wasn't particularly busy but it is what it is I guess. I got the Prime Rib special, the wife got fish and chips, my friend on the salmon entree and his mom got some sort of shrimp pasta dish. The fish and chips were decent and filling. The fries were average at best. Nothing that really stands out. I ordered my Prime Rib rare, it came out medium. But after waiting for an hour I wasn't going to wait another hour for a piece of meat that wasn't supposed to be cooked for long anyway....which makes no sense either considering prime rib roast is always cooked ahead of time, not at time of ordering. My friend enjoyed his salmon, again, nothing too memorable. The pasta my friend's mom ordered was terrible. It was like they spilled an entire jar of salt into the dish. All you could taste was salt. But again, after waiting for an hour she just picked out the shrimp and had a few bites of pasta and left the rest. It was also very greasy and oily. The prices here are ok and maybe we just caught the staff on an off night. I want to give this place more stars but our experience was not the best.

Came here for a catered lunch event. There is a generous parking lot for the club members. Men lugging their clubs, zippy little golf carts, and a beautiful view of the grounds as far as the eye can see. There isn't a sign from the parking lot indicating whether or not the building by the parking lot is home to the restaurant because it seems just like a golf shop at first. Walking in, one side is a golf shop and the other side is the bar and restaurant/ conference room. The staff was soo sweet and helpful. They smiled a lot and let me explore a little around the bar before anyone else arrived. 5 stars for everything. If I knew someone who golfed here I would love to come back!

What a missed opportunity. I haven't played Whitney Oaks in over 10 years. We decided to give it another try and wouldn't you know it...my opinion remains unchanged. The good - this could be the most beautifully designed course in the greater Sacramento area. Old trees, good elevation without being obnoxious, water holes, obstacle placement, sand in key locations, creeks, etc...it is a well designed course. - Greens are impeccably maintained and fast. They are fantastic. - Cart path directional signs are well placed. - Club house is impressive and updated. The Bad - The fairways look terrible. Yellowish brown fairways that look in desperate need of water. This has been a historical issue at this club. There are fairway spots on every hole that are dry dirt patches. With limited play during the COVID-19 shelter in place, there is no excuse to have poor fairways. - Staff. We were never told that one of the holes was being plugged the day we played. We discovered the issue when we hit the tee box only to see an unplayable fairway. They should have told us this in advance. - Tee boxes were in poor shape with dry dirt patches on most tee boxes. This shows a lack of caring on behalf of the grounds crew. They can shift the tee box location daily to prevent this issue but they don't. The UGLY - You have to know this course to score well. If you are new to the course remember to play the yardage and take the driver out of your hands. Several holes call for an iron off the tee. If you don't, expect to lose a lot of balls. - The GPS system has advertisements every shot. You literally have to touch the screen after each shot to remove the ad in order to see distance and hole information. It drives you crazy to the point that you turn off the GPS on the cart.

Had my wedding on Dec 3, 2017. It was the most amazing experience I had with Whitney Oaks Golf Club! Kelsey (manager) made my wedding day so easy with no stress at all!!! Went in, change to my wedding gown and then everything was ready. She and her staff provided me food and drink all night. BEST VENUE OUT THERE! No planning needed just tell them the colors, the food and what you want to be done that day... voila and it's all done!! From what I have been hearing about wedding are tiring and stressful and how the bride doesn't eat ... I felt that wasn't true lol! Amazing service, amazing people, amazing price, amazing place and more amazing!!! Order their cake.... the most amazing delicious cake ever!! And pretty... Thanks Kelsey and your team!!!

We came here for a friend's wedding this past weekend. It's a nice location. Though it was super cold on a December afternoon, the ceremony was held outside, overlooking the golf course. It was a bit muddy (especially for those of us wearing heels or long skirts), but fortunately this particular ceremony was super short, so we hurriedly went upstairs to get warm. The reception area fit about 100 people comfortably. Any more than that would have been too crowded. Appetizers were good, bar employees were friendly, and the buffet was good (though my husband didn't like the food....something about BBQ sauce, but I think he just doesn't like buffets in general). My husband said one thing he noticed was that the floors/carpets were dirty. I hadn't noticed that when we were there, but I didn't really spend much time looking on the floor. Not sure if the vendors were part of this golf club, but the DJ and photo booth employees were all pretty cool. Would recommend this venue if you have a wedding of 100 or less. Seems like a good choice, especially if you live close by.

Will you be having a thanksgiving buffet this year?

Hello, Rosanna. Whitney Oaks will be closed Thanksgiving Day with no Thanksgiving buffet this year. If you have any other questions, please contact Whitney Oaks at 916-632-8333. Thanks for asking!

Is the course a walkable course ... or is a golf cart recommended?

Hello, Sreshta and thank you for your question. The front nine is an easier walk. However, the back nine is much longer and with more elevation changes between holes, so we would recommend a golf cart. If you have any other questions, feel free to…

The venue itself is stunning, featuring a beautiful garden and a courtyard that served as the ideal backdrop for outdoor photos. The food was delightful, and the service was exceptional. The team members constantly checked on our guests--refilling water, clearing plates, and anticipating every need. Our bartender was also incredibly friendly and took fantastic care of everyone's cocktails. A special thank you to Roberto, our event manager, who regularly checked in with us to coordinate dinner timing, the toasts, and the cake cutting. Then on Valentine's Day, he surprised me and said he found this place. Initially it was fully booked and our reservation was for outside on a cold afternoon, but we showed up early and the staff was super cool and had a seat for us inside. I'm so glad we got to sit inside because I was admiring the lovely interior. They had fun couches, lovely chandeliers, and various flower arrangements. The day we went, it was fully booked, and we sort of got lost in the mix initially when the staff was explaining things, but once they figured out it was our first time the staff was super eager to explain things to us. We tried a couple different teas, enjoyed all the different sandwiches and deserts. Normally I only drink iced teas, and so they were super cool to provide me with a glass of ice so I could enjoy my teas. My favorite one was the first one they poured, which is the Obstinate Headstrong Girl. Overall we had enough time to only taste two teas, so we will for sure have to come back to try the rest. The owner was super friendly, I explained to her that normally I don't like scones but their scones were tasty and different. She explained a little about her technique, experiences in Europe and what separates theirs from all the rest I've tried. It was a fun experience, made for a very memorable Valentine's Day, and will for sure be back in the future to try more teas!

We arrived about 30 minutes early and were told to wait since we were early and it was freezing outside. As it got closer to opening, people began lining up, and once the doors opened it was pretty much a free-for-all. At that point the server became instantly busy, which is understandable. They did appear to be running behind, as we were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation time. The space itself is very tight, you're practically seat-to-seat with other guests so be ready to suck in and say excuse me! The decor is cute and clearly trying to create a high-tea vibe, but it's still in a strip mall, which feels a bit odd for a tea room, again they did their best. We were seated on green velvet couches (very pretty), but the table sat below knee level when seated. A taller table would make a big difference so you're not constantly reaching down for your tea and bites. There were about five tea options listed, but the tea was selected for us. It was good, fruity and fragrant, but I'm more accustomed to tea service where each guest gets to choose their own blend. Also worth noting: my teacup and my mom's both had lipstick on them (queue- "eeyuckk!"), so we asked for replacements. Our waitress was very sweet and talkative, but she was also the only server for our half of the room, which definitely showed. I let them know I don't eat meat and asked about vegetarian sandwich options--unfortunately everything was already plated. That one's on me for not asking ahead of time, but it's something to keep in mind. Upon sitting, we were offered champagne or sparkling juice, we obviously chose champagne, duh! The first bite served was a homemade vegetable quiche, small but good. Next came the tiered stand of tea sandwiches and desserts. Maybe I'm spoiled by high tea places like the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus or at The Palace Hotel, but the variety and quality here were just... okay. The sandwiches included coronation chicken (which I didn't eat), a brie (couldn't really taste it) and fig that honestly tasted like a PB&J on slightly stale wheat bread, and a cucumber sandwich that was good but tiny, half-dollar sized. I ordered another one since it was the only sandwich I really enjoyed. Not sure if we were charged for it, but I assume so. Each of us received a raisin scone, which was more like a biscuit with raisins in it, but decent. We had to request lemon curd and Devonshire cream which is typically the provided at tea. The dessert tier included red velvet cake, a peppermint cream puff, and an apple pie bite. I didn't try them as they didn't really appeal to me and felt "frozen". I did notice in another review that someone mentioned the same thing and the owner responded that desserts are made in-house. That could be the case, but based on my catering background and the server saying they order elsewhere, I personally didn't get that impression. That said, my mom and grandma did enjoy the red velvet cake and cream puff. We ended up inviting our server to sit and chat with us, and she was genuinely lovely. We also acknowledged how busy she was, because... wow. Bottom line: kind service, very tight seating, and a pleasant overall experience, but if you're used to a more elevated high tea with better quality, customization, and variety, this may fall a little flat. $225 for three guests. Would I come back? Maybe, maybe not. But we still had a good time together as a family, and that counts for something.

It was my first ever visit. It's easy to book a session via the website. Pre-pay and heaven code is sent to open the locked doors. This business is open 24/7. It is unmanned. The place is squeaky clean. It's well organized. As a newbie I did have a steep learning curve to launch the game console and the projection system. I've never played video games. After 15 minutes of button pushing the control monitor and flubber-dubbering I finally got it up and running. So #1 recommendation: offer customers the assistance of an employee who teaches a newbie how to run the simulator. If it would cost an extra $15 that would be a good value. I had a planned routine to test 5 different golf balls. I ended up having to swing 125 shots for the record and another 30 for warm-up and repeats when I flubbed a swing or when the Uneekor system did not correctly track the shot. That took 75 minutes. I only paid for an hour session. The system did not lock me out after the 60 minute session expired. My one criticism is the responsiveness of the operating system. It was S...L...O...W... Choosing a routine such as a driving range took the machine at least 2 minutes to launch. I poked the touch screen multiple times to choose a function with no beep feedback response nor the function launching. I don't know if the machine (Bay #1) was glitchy or if this is the usual quality. Once I got the system to work, the simulator did track the ball flight and display the data pretty quickly. So will I use this facility for practice or a simulated round of golf? Probably not. The allure of golf for me is being outside in the sunshine, breathing fresh air. So being in a dark room smashing golf balls into a movie screen is a completely different experience. I will return if I'm tasked again to test golf equipment that requires data gathering.
