Actually not what I expected... I thought it would be soft serve custard in several flavors. There were about 5 flavor that had been frozen and could be scooped. Other wise it was plain ... with toppings like a sundae or blended up like a blizzard. Well first of all they messed up our order and didnt get receipt..so not sure what they charged us for. It wasnt hot out but it melted really fast. All 3 of us threw away about half of it. My moms butterscotch blended ... had little to no flavor. My buckeye sundae had way too much syrup and topping for amount of custard. My husband's wasnt great and was a melted mess. So it wasnt the best. We all had more than we wanted wasnt as good as dairy queen or udf ... In our opinion. read more

Maybe it was a one off experience because normally I love it any time I come here, but I went recently for the first time this season, and it was not good at all. I ordered a Whitster and the custard was melting by the time I got it. I left to find a place to sit and because my cup had been filled really high and was melting, the custard was running down the sides of my cup, all over my hand and it was not a matter of eating fast enough - I had never experienced anything like that! It was a hot day, so maybe they had a hard time keeping the custard cold? I ended up with almost half a cup of pure liquid which I threw away. I have never had frozen custard before and then I passed by Whit's and couldn't resist. I walked in and took notice of the large board detailing all flavors, toppings, and syrups. They also have a large calendar that details the daily/weekly frozen custard offerings. The staff here was very friendly and happily answered any of my questions. There are 4 sizes that you can order; mini, small, medium, and large. For my first time at Whit's I ordered an oldie but goodie; a mini cookies and cream. Since frozen custard is like soft serve you get to mix in whatever you want. I got the plain vanilla custard with a generous amount Oreo cookies and hot fudge syrup. I didn't see any seating on the inside but there are benches right outside the restaurant. I would recommend that or walking around downtown Lebanon. There's always something to see. I will go back so I can try other flavors or a shake. Definitely a must try if you are in the Lebanon area and need a sweet treat. read more

The store itself is pretty small and crowded during a hot day (which is when we went). I do like the fact that they had two other flavors from chocolate/vanilla. There are many great things to try here, and I especially enjoy the Golden Turtle Whitser and the almond Joy custard. The flavors are always changing, so people have a good reason to return or something to look forward to. Pricing is definitely on the high end for frozen custard, but you can get a better value buying a quart or more to take home. My FAVORITE ice cream place in town, OK let's be honest....in all of Ohio. Located in downtown Lebanon off of historic Main Street, Whit's offers daily made custard in all sorts of amazing flavors. There are flavors and the week and the day that change regularly. The calendar on the left shows the schedule of the upcoming flavors if you have a favorite. They also have the regulars you would expect: sundaes, cones, blizzard type desserts called Whitsers, and my favorite the Whittie- a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with vanilla custard. They also sell amazing ice cream cakes and their best flavors by the quart in the freezer on the right after you walk in. And the staff is super friendly and patient even with the long lines and indecisive customers. It's usually a strong group of high school kids that work there at least the entire year- always very friendly. If you live in Lebanon, be sure to show your Lebanon Warrior Card to save 20%. If you don't have one, I think they will even sell you one there. Local secret: go 15 minutes before they close and order a cone with 1 scoop of the flavor of the day. At that time, they are about to quart the flavor of the day which I hear is a pain so they will be extra generous serving you in order to save themselves from having to do more work later on that night after the close. read more

You can not go through Lebanon without stopping by Whit's for a cool down. The "Custard" is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere in this place is fantastic. It has the old time ice cream parlor feel right off of the main street in Lebanon. Inside the employees are helpful and you can sit at one of the tables or grab a stool along the wall. The custard is delicious....extremely creamy and much smoother than normal ice cream. I think I had the Carmel cookies and Cream last time I was there and it was to die for. The prices are pretty good here and I've never had much trouble finding street parking to get it. If you go through town here and don't stop then you are really missing out. read more
