Whatever coating is on the glasses starts to come off in spots to the point everything is cloudy and you just can't see out of the glasses . They Jack the prices of the glasses so far up even with my insurance I paid 100's of dollars . Unfortunately with the insurance I had this was pretty mush the business in my location that was listed under the insurance . I've tried everything to clean the lenses so I can see out of them . Between the cloudy spots and thus dull film over the lens I just can't anymore. Staff has always been pleasant but the quality of their glasses is a negative. Once off the phone, instead of greeting us or asking how she could help, she aggressively told us they do not take walk-ins before we could even speak. We found this interaction highly unprofessional, especially for new patients simply trying to navigate the front desk. Even after we realized the setup and moved over to the optometry side, she continued to glare at us angrily. While the optometrist and the rest of the clinical staff were incredibly professional and provided great care, that initial front-desk experience was unacceptable. Because of this hostility, we will not be returning to this location, nor will we recommend it to anyone we know.

I think I spooked the nurse!…read more One of the front-end nurses--I know I'm a little awkward in public (social anxiety), so I come off a little high-strung. I was asking a question about something mid-conversation and she jumped a little. xD If she ever reads this, I am SO sorry! I say all of that to say that the experience at Dr. Nguyen's office was nothing short of amazing. The least you expect from a doctor's visit, especially for the first time, are A) a courteous staff, B) patience when it comes to any kind of reluctance with their gadgets, and C) a doctor who is willing to coach you all the way down to the decimal with your prescription. After being known for some of the best eyes in the family, Dr. Nguyen and her staff made me aware that I have astigmatism just like my late aunt. The process: the nurse led me to the testing area, where I looked at a graphic of a farmhouse inside a machine. Then we moved on to the "infamous" blower to test my eye pressure; this is when a puff of air is blown into one eye, and it wasn't anywhere near as bad or scary as people make it out to be. Next was the eye scan. They weren't doing dilations (drops) due to the pandemic and I was in too big of an emergency to get on a waiting list, as eye fatigue at the computer is what brought me in. So I took the $40 eye scan, which consists of you looking closely into a scope while a green light scans the back of your eye for problems. It's nothing like a harsh camera flash, but staring at a fully-lit laptop screen for a split second. The nurse took my family medical history and soon after, in came Dr. Nguyen. BEYOND hospitable, Dr. Nguyen had me cover each eye as I read the eye chart on the TV in the mirror (new-school!). I did pretty well in my right eye, but in my left...that glare I've noticed for the past while ended up being astigmatism. Tightening my mask around my nose to avoid fog, she mated me with the refractor to see what kinds of lenses I'll need. After answering any and every question I had about glasses, my vision and everything going forward, I paid in the front and EXCITEDLY went to Visionworks next door to try on styles for my first pair of prescription glasses. My takeaways are that I've needed glasses for a good minute and just didn't know it, and the eye fatigue from work at the computer was the final nail in the coffin. Overall Dr. Nguyen and her team were the consummate professionals and helped me a lot in this new phase of adulthood. I highly recommend her to everyone in the area, as well as the staff at Visionworks right next door since they have a really good selection. I actually can't wait to come back for a checkup.

It has been hard to find one in the Houston area and I'm glad we found it. We came in for my husband's exam, but ended up getting a new set of glasses for my daughter. They had these cute glasses for kids with cat ears and since they were so great with my husband I decided to get her another pair of glasses. Dr Chen was knowledgeable, pleasant and I could tell he was focused on the customer experience. He took time to double check her current prescription and make sure everything was perfect instead of just rushing the process. There was also someone at the front desk that helped adjust my daughter's glasses and she was very helpful. She showed my kid how to properly take off her glasses and shared what kind of frames she should get next time so they do not slide down her face. I appreciated the time she took to do this. The office is in the Woodlands and I live in Cypress. Even though it is far, I will return for my own exam and glasses.

First, I was charged an additional fee that was not covered by my insurance, but no one informed me about the extra charge beforehand or asked for my approval. In my experience, if there is an additional charge for a service that insurance does not cover, the patient should be informed in advance and given the opportunity to approve or decline the service. More concerningly, they took my glasses to measure the prescription. When my glasses were returned to me, I noticed a very noticeable scratch on the right lens and two lighter scratches on the left lens. I immediately pointed this out, but they denied that the damage had occurred while they were handling my glasses. Every time I went out of the house I cleaned my glasses and inspected them carefully, there were no scratches there before. For the first time in my nearly 40 years of wearing glasses, my glasses were scratched by an eye care provider. Although I ordered these glasses last year, they had been kept in their case because I was still wearing my other old glasses. I have only been wearing this pair for about two or three months, and they are still relatively new because I am a very careful person when it comes to my glasses. Because these are rimless glasses, I take extra care when handling and cleaning them. I paid approximately $400 out of pocket after insurance for these glasses, which have progressive, high-index 1.67 lenses. I'm very upset and saddened by how this situation was handled. I'm considering seeking help to determine what consumer or regulatory remedies may be available. I will not be returning to Glimpse Eye Care. They have lost my family's business.
