Was a patient of Dr. Voodoo. Called to make an appointment on 8/12 was told first available was in December, said never mind . They called and said how about October, said never mind. They called again how about tomorrow @ 4:00 PM ok great. Arrived 3:45 PM so far so good. At 4:45 sitting in waiting room. Told receptionist I was leaving @ 5:00 PM if not seen by then . She apologized. I asked why she didn't notify me in advance so I could come in closer to when he was available. No answer . Well 5:00 PM came I was gone . So I waited 75 minutes for nothing. This is unacceptable, total disregard for my time. If I was a no show they would have charged me a missed appointment fee, maybe I should charge them? Can not recommend this practice. read more

I was referred to see Dr Jesse Boodoo for some Arthritis related concerns. The estimated time to see him was 4.5 months which I didn't think was bad considering that he's a specialist. I was scheduled, appropriately reminded as my appointment approached and was greeted by friendly staff when I arrived on my scheduled day. Once at the office i had to wait one hour past my appointment time to see him but when he finally arrived I found him to completely engaged. He took his time, asking specific questions related to my symptoms and explained things thoroughly. At a follow up appointment a few weeks later I experienced more of the same and overall I was very pleased with the treatment I received. I would highly recommend Dr Boodoo. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Lyn Shue. I found her through my insurance company's website as I had a lot of joint and muscle pain. When I went to see her I told her all my symptoms and all of my underlying suspected symptoms which were thyroid-related w/a fam history. I'm so glad she stepped in when she did. At first, she gave me an X-ray to make sure it wasn't an arthritis issue. When it wasn't, we took some time but I was still having pain, so she checked more on me. I asked her if I could get the full thyroid blood work because the timing of that blood work wasn't good and it was not the complete blood work. She was the only doctor who actually listened and ordered the full lab for me. My primary even didn't. Without her, I wouldn't have found that my thyroid level is low and I was in need to take medication. Highly recommend! read more

The practice has several locations that should fit your radius when searching for a rheumatologist near your home. All the physicians have an impressive resume and many years experience. The support staff is always professional and polite and answer any questions I have. I see Dr Huguenin and she is very knowledgeable when it comes to new treatment options on the horizon. I have never felt rushed when I see her and she gives a thorough exam. She always answers any questions I have and I feel very assured that I am in good hands for my battle with Rheumatoid arthritis and Sjorgrens. read more

I see Dr Cindy Johnston at the Bradenton office. She is fantastic. She goes above and beyond any specialist I've ever seen. She listens and explains conditions well. She also sees patients at the Sarasota office. At this time, they do not use Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. I see my actual doctor every visit and diagnoses aren't missed, because I'm not being passed around to someone different every time. Dr Johnston referred me to a Hematologist/Oncologist. I saw the doctor twice and the next three years I was passed around to NP's and PA's. I became discouraged because no one could keep track of what was going on, so I quit going and figured it out myself. The office and nursing staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The office is clean. Infusions are given on site. Infusions nurses are great. I highly recommend Dr Johnston. read more

Just for clarity, I was in contact with Nadiola (who never followed up). Since posting my review, the office stepped up and was successful getting the bloodwork managed properly. It took a public review to get the office to notice that no one was helping me. I am pleased that (finally) nine months later (and a lot of aggravation) my issue is resolved. I am thankful that this is behind me. Please know that my dissatisfaction with this office has nothing to do with the medical care that I received. I have been working with Dr Yonker for 2 years, since rapid onset RA started. Let me start by saying that RA is a TOUGH condition. Dr Yonker has been on my side testing and assessing my conditions, and treating me accordingly, all along. It's been tough, I won't lie. He is definitely a deep thinker, and he gathers the information needed to make a good decision, and adjusts medications accordingly. The insurance company on the other hand, I think does what is in their best interests, and has prevented the doctor from doing what he thinks is best. Face it, RA is no walk in the park! There is no easy solution, especially with an insurance company telling the doctor what to do. I really feel that if the doctor was allowed by the insurance companies to practice medicine accordingly, I would be closer to comfortable by now. We'll see what happens next! Dr. Boodoo is thorough and better informed about scleroderma than many other rheumatologists in the area because it's a relatively rare disease. He takes the time to meet with you and answer questions. The only thing I don't like about this practice is that they have signs telling patients they must request refills during their appointments. I don't know what happens if you call for refills (I haven't done so) but I would be angry if I needed refills between visits. read more

In response to Stacy explanation that is completely inaccurate. Just this past Friday my PCP did all my lab work. All my levels were high and not controlled. Dr..Manohar had not done any lab work in the last 6 months to consider me in remission. The lab work is showing the contrary. But of course it is easier just to get rid of the patient than to due the correct diligence. That's what is wrong with Dr. Manohar that she can't admit that she is wrong. That's why she never gives the patience the time of the day. I got dropped but I have not spoken to her for over 6 months. I'm just stating the facts. Now this is not reviewing any other doctors. I see really good reviews on other doctors. But sorry my experience it is my true. I recommend anybody that wants to have a doctor that listens and returns calls or give you emergency appointment she is not the one. read more

Let's start with the new patient process- they didn't make me wait months to get in...5 stars! Then the staff bends over backwards to be helpful. ... 5 stars! The waiting room has my favorite activity- a jigsaw puzzle to work on- 5 stars. (Sadly I have no wait time to even get more than 2 pieces in so negative 1 star on that- lol.) And Dr Yonker took the time needed to get a complete history from me- without feeling belittled for my endless list of unresolved symptoms. - 5 stars! Most important- he linked all my issues together and gave a diagnosis and treatment that seems to be helping.- 10 STARS! Finally- the staff at both Sarasota & Bradenton Infusion centers Sarasota are so kind! They went to great lengths to sign me up for an RX program to cover the weekly them monthly $600/treatment copay. 5 stars! So for anyone that has struggles with endless symptoms and no relief or diagnosis- I highly recommend you don't give up until you give these guys a shot. Oh and the Mr Toms candy in the waiting room- another 5 stars! Total rating= 39 STARS! read more

I have been under Dr Manohar for several years now and she has managed my rheumatoid arthritis with what she considers the best treatment. I trust her skills and knowledge and I understand that there is no quick fix for rheumatic pain. So whether you get an appointment now or in the next 7 days is immaterial to the long term treatment and care your will get at Sarasota Arthritis Center. I have always found them polite and friendly and I understand how difficult it is to be chirpy when in pain but I have always found a sympathetic ear and a solution when calling the office. After moving to the Punta Gorda in the last year, I found myself struggling to find a really qualified rheumatologist that I felt comfortable with and that took my insurance plan. In researching the Sarasota Arthritis Center, I was impressed by the credentials of all the specialists on staff with this practice. It was difficult to determine which provider would probably best treat me since that all came so highly qualified, so after phoning the office, I took the first available at the closest office to Punta Gorda. I was treated politely and professionally by the employee on the phone and they provided me with all the information I needed to ensure my first appointment would go well: I had medical records from another state to get transferred in before the first visit and it all went seemlessly. Since my initial visit, I have been at both the Englewood and Venice locations. The staff are always very polite and thorough. Both locations are easy to access (very helpful for me since I use a walker). Their patient portal is not difficult to navigate through and they send appointment reminders as well. Dr Huguenin was the specialist I chose from their group. She is very compassionate to my struggles with dealing with arthritis challenges, listens to my questions and genuinely cares. I also appreciate that even though she takes time when she is in the room with me, has never rushed me to move along to the next patient, I have not found them to be running behind which indicates their schedulers are skilled in juggling appointments. The checkin process is also quite easy. Upon entering the office there is a kiosk to scan your insurance cards and take your co-pay, keeping the front desk clear of a long line. It takes me an hour to drive to either location from where I live, but as far as I am concerned, you cannot put drive time ahead of quality treatment. I will definitely continue to make the extra trip to ensure my best interest and health is in the right hands. read more

I was referred by a Physician friend in Sarasota for SMH to this clinic for my RA which has been giving me great difficulty since moving here in 2022. I have been looking to find one based on a personal referral as I have been using Acupuncture for the pain management since moving here and I had nothing but door after door slammed for over 3 weeks. I had my primary care Dr., fax over the referral, not once, but 3 times over a 2 week period & I ended up emailing the referral myself asking to schedule in any office at any day or time and could not get a call back or when I did, I was told nothing was received by Allison, New Patient Coordinator. I gave up on communicating via email and decided to call, every call went to voicemail, not sure why nobody ever answers but after leaving a message on a Wednesday and again a Thursday, Allison, new patient coordinator who I was trying to go around, finally called me back on Monday afternoon. This was in early August 2024. Allison was not only NOT welcoming on the phone , but she refused to help at all. She claimed, I would need to call my Dr. back, again and have them fax over the referral. When confirming the fax # I told her the exact dates and times my doctor shows having sent them. I also told her I had emailed directly to her. The response was, they were never received. Not possible in my opinion. How can 4 referrals be lost? She refused to help, even though clearly a referral gnome was eating them, she wasn't willing to even give me any indication of how long it would be to get an appointment as I had been trying for almost a month at this point and she was just not helpful in the least. I am quite sure the Practicing doctors of this office have no idea how their New Patient Coordinator is with patients. I also found out, this isn't just a "me" problem. She commented to a friend who tried to schedule just in last 2 weeks, it was "snow bird season" and they are too busy to call everyone back. They are doing their best." Is this really the way to treat your patients? Is this passive aggressive and refusal to treat patients how they want their business represented? I read that the doctors are amazing and the patient care is good, but if you can't get a call back or someone willing to get you scheduled, how else can you review their practice? read more

It appears you can not even get an appointment without a doctor's referral. What is it with a practice that makes someone go thru gyrations to seek medical care. It is a sad comment on the medical profession . It seems they want to be considered an elite organization. Why do they burden already overworked family doctors? What is the distinction between a referral vs a patient seeking care. In today's world it could take considerable time to secure such referral. Post pandemic we are dealing with the lack of competent help. When did doctors become gate keepers to care. Does it make them feel more exclusive ? Setting up roadblocks to care is truly unconscionable. If one has paid the premium for a PPO, why the HMO pretense? We are now living with dictates that are both unnecessary and burdensome to both the patient and family doctors. Likewise the family doctors make considerably less than a specialist. Yet, the specialist has little consideration for his fellow General Doctor. read more
