Pulled pork nachos

Amazing food every time we dine here. There's a wide variety of bbq sauces to try, each one with a helpful description of the flavors inside. I have yet to try one of their meat options that failed to provide great flavor. Everything is fresh and tender. Staff are prompt and helpful. Plenty of seating to choose from.

3 Meat Combo Plate: Pulled pork, brisket, ribs, potato salad, coleslaw, beans, roll

Stopped here from the airport and was a great stop! We got in at a weird time so the place was empty but the food was very good! We got a combo plate with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The pulled pork and ribs were amazing. Brisket was ok. The sides always make bbq - the burnt end cheesy corn was by far the most amazing side and the potato salad was one of the best I've had, with very unique, very garlicky tasted. Beans and alway were good, roll was eh. My dad enjoyed the ham sandwich that he got as well. Between three of us sharing, it was more than enough food.

Pulled Pork Sandwich, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw

I like BBQ and Whole Hog is a good solid choice. I usually come in for lunch (typically on the North side location) but this time decided to try this location. The menu is exactly the same. I went with the special - Pulled Pork or Pulled Chicken Sandwich with two sides. I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich, potato salad, and baked beans. The sandwiches come with coleslaw on it, which you can request to get on the side. I always take mine on the side (don't at me). Potato salad is to die for. Probably one of the best potato salads out there. Good flavor, spices, and always just so good. The baked beans and pulled pork are also really great options. Sometimes I like to get the cheesy corn. And at Whole Hog, you can even get a cookie or a brownie for a side. Can't beat that! I like to go with sauces #2 & #3 - the tomato vinegar style BBQ sauce. It reminds me of the BBQ sauce at a local restaurant in the town where I grew up. For a solid BBQ meal at about $10, you can't beat it.

Damn good BBQ Anytime I make it to town I try my hardest to get in for a meal. My friends that live down this why told me I'd love it. And they were spot on! If your a meat eater you gotta get in here.

I'm. I'm back at it looking for the best BBQ IN Springfield. As per normal I tried to order the same as always. 3 meats, pulled pork, brisket and ribs with Mac n cheese and beans. Whole hog threw me a couple If curve balls. No ribs with the 3 meat and they don't have Mac b cheese. Added a rib to the 2 meat and got the burnt end cheese corn. Beans were fine but nothing to write home about. Cheese corn was nice and very cheese, but not Mac n cheese. Pulled pork was above average. It had good flavor and some smoke. It was a little dry and was barely a stand alone meat. Brisket was below average. It may have been cooked in a crock pot. I think I taste liquid smoke. The ribs were dry and tasted heavily of paprika. I'm not going to bother with a full on review of the sauces etc.

literally terrible if i could give it no stars i would. i ordered bbq nachos online & i was over charged for one & the employee recognized it & didn't fix it. i wish i could post a picture of what i was served bc it looks like something a 2 year old put together i was expecting my meal already prepared.

Beef Brisket Plate

This is the second time I've eaten here both times it's just been kind of meh. This time I got the brisket plate with coleslaw. The coleslaw had no flavor other than cabbage. I don't know that there was any dressing on it at all it just looked like wet cabbage with maybe pepper in it. The brisket also basically had no flavor, definitely no smoke taste to it. It was also the thinnest brisket I have ever seen in my life. I don't know how they even sliced it this thin. Without barbecue sauce it would've had no flavor to it. I tried it without the sauce and between the lack of meat in the slice and the lack of any flavor from cooking, it made me wonder if it had been cooked in the oven. For a place that claims they've won a bunch of awards the meet was really lackluster. The brownie is pretty good that's the reason for two stars.

Regular brisket sandwich with burnt cheesy corn and potato salad as sides. Comes with slaw.

Petty good BBQ for Springfield MO. The brisket is sliced extremely thin like a deli. If you go here, go for the pig not the beef.

Hit or miss on the pulled pork. Sometimes it's spot on great, other times it's just average. Really good for the most part.

My daughter and I were in the area visiting and read several positive reviews so we decided to give…read moreit a try. When we first pulled up the place looked like it might have been closed, but it wasn't. We were just there at an unpopular time of day. It was around 2:45pm so after lunch and too early for dinner, but we were hungry. When we walked in, we were promptly greeted by a very kind and informative gentleman. We told him we had never been there before and he informed us that because it's a bbq place, they sell out very early. It was also St Patrick's Day and he told us even those specials were all sold out. He proceeded to tell us what they had left and made recommendations for us based on what was available. We ended up ordering the smoked turkey, burnt ends, potato salad and the bbq beans. The sauces we tried were a mustard based bbq sauce and their traditional house bbq sauce. We took a seat at a table while we waited for our food. It's a seat yourself dining room. Our only complaint about the dining room was the lighting and temperature. It was too dark inside and the temperature was too cold, but it was also very cold outside. Our food was brought out pretty quickly and everything was worth the wait! The turkey was so moist and tender and the burnt ends were charred just right. The potato salad and beans were both large enough to share. The potato salad had an unusual flavor because it was made with pickles which we love so it was different but incredibly delicious at the same time. I was so glad we ordered it. The beans were just okay for me, but my daughter really liked them. Personally, I don't get too excited about beans when there's better options to try. I'd rather put those carbs and calories to better use. LOL The sauces were both good but the mustard one had a very strong mustard flavor so if mustard isn't your thing you're not going to like it. The house sauce is just the right mix or sweet and smoky. As I'm writing this review, I'm craving the potato salad so much and the turkey too. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm definitely stopping there again. Nice staff, great food, and good portions what more to ask for.

I'm so glad I took their advice, the buns were soft and buttery, the meat patties were flavorful and moist. We also ordered you are smokin' fries. Apple and hickory smokes fries, loaded w/ sautéed jalapeños, cheese sauce, and we opted the pulled pork with Chipotle bbq. The fries were a hit at our table! Waygu burgers, sign me up! I end up ordering the foodie - double 4oz patties, Boursin style cheese, caramelized onion, candied bacon, w/ truffle mayo. Best damn burger I had in a long time. They offer varieties of sauces to try with your burger & fries, they bring a small tray with each sauce. Ranch, ketchup, smoky garlic mayo, chipotle BBQ, chipotle ketchup, truffle mayo, and sriracha mayo just to name a few. I'm a sucker for espresso so I ordered an espresso yourself shake. Espresso, salted caramel, funnel cake, coffee liqueur, frozen vanilla custard. The espresso and salted caramel balance each other out nicely. This shake lives rent free in my head. If I am ever in the city again, this would be on my top list to visit. Definitely would recommend you trying Black Sheep.
