Because the Misteak is probably the best new thing I've eaten since moving to Montgomery. --- --- --- Prior to moving here, I'd already experienced the life-changing sandwiches from Tony's, but now that I'm officially a resident of Montgomery, Wiches on Wheels is my favorite new discovery. I called ahead a couple of times and did not get an answer, so I just drove down to Deacon Baldy's. When I arrived, the owner mentioned that he never answers out-of-state area codes because it's usually spam. But the good news is that my food came out super quick anyway, so if you are going to call ahead, you may not want to leave too much time before you show up. I ordered the Misteak and I have to say that it was a Top 10 burger I've ever eaten. Maybe higher. After one visit, I already know that I will definitely be taking friends and family here when they come over because it was such an unbelievably perfect thing. I also ordered the corn salad, not because I necessarily would have normally chosen such a thing, but it was unique and a review highlight. Holy freaking crap. My sunrise burger was life changing. The perfect balance of umami, spices, and decadence. The fries as a topping took me back to being a kid at a family BBQ and stacking wedges on my burger. Hands down one of the best food trucks I've had the pleasure to visit. They have five stars for a reason. BOMB BOMB BOMBBBBBB burgers! We were so full when we got to their spot at Deacon Baldys but we literally came to Deacons because we saw Wiches on Wheels on Instagram and wanted to try their food. We ignored our fullness and split their classic burger with everything on it. My husband and I ate it SO fast. Between literally (and I mean literally) every bite we both just spewed out "omgs" and "wows" and miscellaneous noises of utter disbelief/enjoyment. The patty is SO crisp and salty and flavorful but yet tender inside. It's not a thin patty but yet not too obnoxiously thick. The bun looked really bready but o can assure you it was so light and airy (also quite buttery and crisp), that it completely complemented the entire burger. The condiments and dressings were great ratios too - nothing soggy over here! Do yourself a HUGE favor and grab a bite here. Hoping for better than Twisted "WARNING food poisoning ahead!" Chefs, we chose instead Wich's Son of a Brat with corn salad side $15.00. The sandwich is a brat dressed with kraut. A curry-spiked ketchup gives it a little character but doesn't really compensate for the soggy bottom and difficult-to-bite sausage casing. Wife and kids got pizza from another truck but I wanted something different so I went for the sandwich. I was not disappointed!! I ordered the"White Trash Cheesesteak" and my goodness was it glorious!!! It was their S.W.O.W (Signature 'Wich of the Week). It's made with a lightly grilled bun stuffed with Quesorizo and their flavorful burger meat mixed with grilled mushrooms, onion, pickled jalapeños. You can top it off with a hit of jalapeño ranch or their comeback sauce to make it even more trashy! It comes with a side (Mac & cheese something or corn salad). I asked his opinion and he said corn salad so I went with it. A creamy corn mixture topped with some corn chips. Very tasty! The sandwich? OMG. That's how I would describe it. I'm a huuuuge fan of Deacon Baldy's Food Truck Park so it was only a matter of time before I made it to Wiches on Wheels. Admittedly, I have a love-lust relationship with French Fries and when I saw the size of these monstrosities, challenge accepted. The flavor was outstanding. Real talk, it was outstanding as my mouth was slapped with strong spices. I learned quickly to appreciate the various sizes and shapes of the fries because after slowly chewing through a thick, smoking, hot fry; you need a smaller, harder fry to kinda "even out the potato". The portion held so many, alternating was noooo problem! I do warn you. Get EXTRA sauce. Whether you're an old school ketchup user or into the ranches and other stuff, you'll need extra. Those big rascals will need more than the standard two cups. read more

My one slight demerit is the potato salad. I know people are picky about their potato salad. I like all kinds and this was just underwhelming. However, the Hells Bells burger was really good. Right amount of heat to compliment the meat mix used in the patty. Good size burger with excellent bread. And friend had the same as I and felt the same. Had to get my Wiches on Wheels fix. I visited the Conroe location on a cool Saturday afternoon. The breeze was blowing and the aroma of burgers was in the air. We had the Sunrise burger. This particular burger comes with a fried egg on top, sharp cheddar, comeback sauce, bacon, grilled onions, fries on egg bun. The burgers are made with 1/2 lb of a special three meat blend. By chance, decided to grab a quick bite at Deacon Baldy's and had a three meat burger. An IPA and this burger was the perfect combo on a Saturday afternoon. The burger was a pleasant surprise. Flavorful, juicy and the right mix of toppings on what appeared to be a home-made bun. I went with the spicy coleslaw as a side, which was a good side with the burger. Can't say enough good things about this place! Firstly, their burger meat is just darn amazing. So really anything they add to it, will also be amazing. That being said, these guys like to run weekly specials which we have become addicted to. You can never get bored with their menu because they are always cooking up something different, sometimes crazy, for a weekly special. So we find ourselves here on a weekly bases! This was, without a doubt, my favorite Burger I've ever had. You need to try their Special "The Drunken Pine Swine". I wish I would have eaten it there instead of taken home but the taste was still excellent. The patty was medium which I like and the ham and bacon were so good and topped off with the not too sweet sauce. I hope this gets on the menu !! I went to visit my son who recently moved to Conroe, TX.. He took me to Baldys for lunch so I could try Wiches On Wheels. I ordered the Misteak not really knowing what it would taste like. It was UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS! So good that I went back the next day and ate it again. The meat is so tender, the raspberry chipotle sauce is to die for and the bun is the best I have ever eaten. The service was excellent. Very friendly. I should also mention that all the food we ordered was really, really good. Go check this place out...you will not be disappointed.
