I definitely preferred the chorizo tacos over the steak quesadilla, although the chorizo wasn't quite the flavor profile I'm used to. The biggest issue was with the steak quesadilla, which had a large piece of untrimmed beef gristle. It was extremely hard, and I bit into it unexpectedly, it honestly felt like I almost chipped a tooth. The horchata was good, and the overall flavor of the food was decent, but nothing really stood out to make me want to come back. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I probably wouldn't return.

I remembered a TikToc a local kid did that memtioned El Norteno Tacos off of Sawdust just to the right side of the road as you pass WalMart. It resides at the Sawdust Food Truck Court. Israel, the guy taking orders, let us try some of the bistek birria ... let me say, this is a good blend of spiced beef that falls apart when I tasted it. So good that I ordered a taco of it to go with my chicken quesadilla. We sat under the oversized awning in the middle of the trucks and waited for about three or four minutes for our selections to be ready. At the ringing of a bell, I went over and collected my food as well as the Wife's two bean and beef gorditas. The sight of the burria swaddled in a double corn tortilla with a char on them made my mouth water. A squeeze of lime over it and a bit of chopped cilantro and white onions topping the taco made the flavor of the beef more pronounced. Needless to say, in about three bites it disappeared. My chicken quesadilla was well stuffed with tasty pieces of grilled chicken and fresh cheese that were melty but not too melty. Size wise, this was more than enough to satisfy my hunger even without that taco accompanying it. I will be back for other tasty bites of El Norteno style tacos. You need to drop in for lunch or dinner and have a taste of what they are making, because it ALL looks good. Ciao, Darrell

The burrito was plenty in itself--a large, neatly wrapped package of beef, shrimp and chicken goodness. It also had rice and cheese. The shrimp were popcorn shrimp but were cooked nicely--hard to do with the little ones. The beef was a bit chewy but tasted great and ate well when mixed in with everything else. You could easily divide it three ways. The burrito came with three salsas--a traditional red, an orange sauce that mixed ranch with a little chili, and a creamy green avocado sauce. The green sauce had the most kick, it brought the heat well. The orange sauce was mild but the flavor went really well with the burrito. The red was in the middle and more liquid. The rice was fine. I also would have ordered an agua fresca, but they don't carry those. They do have Mexican soda. Service was fine. A good choice if you're nearby. It is on the My Family Vet lot but don't use that entrance--look for their flags on the next entrance north.

I love supporting small businesses, but we now have 3 trucks near us we love. I don't have to cook so much and don't break the bank.

I did like the horchata (but can you really mess that up?). The flavor of the meat was average and the cook was also average. I know some people rave about this spot, but it's a pass for me. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, unless it was super late and the only taco spot open that the time. I'm not sure how busy it gets late night weekends, as it was pretty empty around 11pm on a Saturday when I was there. There were plenty of tables to sit down at and eat. We came in the front door which is just under the canopy of the outdoor seating area. We really liked the inside cozy diner style seating, it was a seat yourself situation. A waitress greeted us and we chose a booth, the seat I sat on had some crumbs but it wasn't like I was sitting in someone else's mess. My husband noticed the table wasn't completely wiped so he did it himself. We asked for water and for appetizer we got queso and chips. The chips were quite crunchy not like a typical tortilla chip seemed maybe homemade by the size and the queso was a fail super watery. It took a pretty long time to get our food but the waitress told us that before we came in there was a huge order for 200 street tacos to go, in her defense there was a lady who showed up and we actually watched the lady check as well as take all orders to her vehicle. My husband ordered the regular taco tray (not pictured) he got chicken on flour the Queso Fundido way, the chicken was good but there seemed to be a lack melted cheese, those came with rice. I've given this location two chances. They have fail both times…read more The first time I ordered Horchata and got horrible diarrhea. The service was MEH. The second time, there was a large, Hispanic woman coughing repeatedly without a mask or covering! I advised my daughter and son in law to go elsewhere. They excused the woman's behavior saying it was probably allergies. So we stayed, against my better judgment. The next morning I awoke with a severe sore throat and a fever !!! I have a heart ailment and other complications, I do NOT need Covid, the flu or some other communicable disease from a waitress that did not spare the customers from her sickness! Whoever the owner is, please know I will have a lab DNA type the strain of whatever I have If I am hospitalized, my family will push the same from that waitress. The HEALTH DEPARTMENT needs to take notice as well. El Tapatio's ice machine needs to be inspected as does their wait staff.
