D&S Custom Conversions - Gap in wall

    D&S Custom Conversions

    (1 review)

Beware of D&S Custom Conversions in Albany OR. My biggest…read moreregret was ever hiring D&S Custom Conversions to build my Skoolie. The quality of Derek Dellinger's work is beyond poor, he'll use scrap wood and materials that will be hidden behind the walls, you'll have no idea until you have to take things apart to fix something you shouldn't have to fix in the first place. He charged me a premium price for a subpar build. It looks good from a distance but when you get a close up look it's terrible. If you supply materials for your build and it doesn't all get used on your job you will not get any of it back. In my opinion that's theft. The solar system that was supposed to support total off grid living failed after the first 4 hours of use. The batteries now need to be replaced. They totally overdischarged 100% and will not recharge above 50%, once the sun goes down the system is useless. The cabinet he built around the solar and electrical panels will need to be completely taken apart and rebuilt to get to anything for repair, maintenance or replacement. Butcher block countertop not sanded & sealed. Cabinet doors that don't close properly, no locks to keep them closed while driving and no struts to keep them open when in use. Unsafe and unusable diesel heater install. The water filtration system he installed leaks. The wiring came loose on the water pump which meant having to take the bed platform apart to do the repairs. The bus broke down on the drive home from his shop, 63 total miles. The paint job is horrible. I paid for premium sea-foam green automotive paint and got turquoise blue cheap Home Depot paint. He's a liar, conman and definitely not the Christian he claims to be. Any reviews or negative comments on his Facebook page will be deleted and he will block you. Any google review will be met with a response that shifts everything on you. He will say he offered to do repairs if the bus is brought to his shop which is not true. He offered a quote for fixing the problems, plus the bus isn't drivable. He will then threaten to sue you for speaking the truth. The pictures tell the truth. He twists things around and makes you out to be the one in the wrong. I'm not the first person to have issues with him and his work. Do your research! Dig deep, don't be taken in by his words or pretty pictures. Ask for numbers of the people he's done build projects for, call them, talk to them, get the real details not the fake stories he'll tell you. The people he's done wrong will talk to you. He's been sued before and lost that case. It eventually went to collections and to this day he's not paid those people their money. Money the court ordered him to pay. Just plain horrible construction. The D&S = Dangerous and Stupid.
