Fair prices and the staff seem trustworthy. I've had some services done in the past and it has all seemed appropriate, and recently, I've gotten safety checks done here before driving an old car long distances, and they've never tried to sell me any services that were unreasonable. Clean lobby to wait in if you need to stay here while your vehicle is being serviced. The parking lot is tight but they are helpful if you need to call if there isn't a place to bring your vehicle at your appointment time. I would always come back here for service! read more

Fantastic place! I took my Lexus to Toyota of Corvallis with what I thought was a simple problem - it wouldn't start. Toyota determined the engine was "shot" (they said it had no compression) and recommended a new engine for $6000. I called Ron at G+ J and he figured it was probably just a flooded cylinder (fuel wash). I had it towed to G+J from Toyota of Corvallis and it turns out Ron was right! You an trust these guys. Just had the guys at G&J remove the existing tires and wheels and install a set that I used, from Craigslist. Even though I didn't purchase the wheels from them, they treated me like a valued customer from the minute I walked in the door! I also had them do an oil change on it. Tom and his staff were very friendly, honest and professional! It is very refreshing to find a top quality local auto shop, especially these days. To top it off, the price was very reasonable. Came here after my tire went flat. The owner was super accommodating to my situation even though I didn't have an appointment. Although they couldn't repair my flat cause my tires were too worn, they were kind enough to put my spare on. They didn't even charge me for the service! I am reviewing the G & J Service center, which is separate from the sales. The service place always has good advice, always reasonable charges. I just had my car's oil changed today and I know it's been done right because I have had them do other jobs for me. I asked up front what it would cost to have 0W-20 oil for my 2018 Versa's oil change, and there was no surprise. They even had on record that I had AAA and gave me the discount for that without me having to mention it. "They" means Ronnie O. the owner, who has been the face of the service center every time I've been there. I've had them do other major work for me on other vehicles and they advise me well on what I need and what I don't. They even redid a job of replacing front axles with more expensive parts when it turned out the parts weren't up to par. Not their fault especially since they didn't hesitate to correct it, and with no charge to me. That's not a cheap job to do. Most service places would have asked me to pay something more for that, or tried to tell me there wasn't a problem. As long as Ronnie is the owner, G & J will be my go-to repair and service place for a long time to come. I won't wonder if they're charging me too much or giving me bad advice, because I trust them. read more

Needed to urgently get my daughter's car in for a potential brake job right before Christmas. G&J made room the next day and were very patient with me when I kept calling back because I was trying to coordinate this from Salem while my daughter was in Corvallis. They treated her well and didn't try to sell me a bunch of part I didn't need - turned out that the calipers just needed to be cleaned. She had her car back in a few hours and I didn't have a huge repair bill! Thank you - definitely earned my repeat business! read more

I will preface this review with the note that the service at G&J is great. Everyone is nice and helpful. HOWEVER. My husband and I purchased our tires here about a year ago, and when we started hearing some squeaking from our right brakes, we decided to bring it in to G&J to have them look at them. Long story short, we had the brakes replaced, only to hear the squeaking as soon as we got home. We brought the truck back in and were told it was another issue. So we threw another $400 at the problem, all the while being told that this would fix it. Again, driving home, the ominous squeaking began again. Three visits later, we are told that the problem is fixed, but still have the squeak happening. We have spent over 1k with this shop and they just can't seem to solve our problem. We wish we had just gone to the Ford dealership, in hindsight. Sure, it might have been more expensive, but at least we'd know they would fix our truck correctly. read more

I came here after I started getting that dreaded side-to-side jerking that happens right before a tire separates. So I quickly GPSed the nearest tire place and found G&J. They took a look at the tires and said that only two of them were real problems, and that they could swap out all of them but that only two really needed it if I wanted to spend less, so that was nice of them to point out (I eventually ended up getting all 4 out because they were old anyway). It ended up being a pretty good deal, less than I was expecting to pay. I've come back to them for repairs, they gave me a good analysis of the problem(s) and repaired them in a timely manner. Again I paid less than I was expecting/fearing. All of the employees I've spoken to have been very friendly and courteous. I'm very pleased with the service here. read more

When I called to make an appointment for oil change and wheel alignment they said it will be 29 dollars, the person took details of my car make and model and quoted me the price, but after the car service he charged me 55 dollars when I asked why it was significantly more he responded in a raised voice that the car needs different filter which is expensive and takes 6 quarts of oil. As the appointment was made the model and make of the car was already mentioned and suddenly after the service they charged more. This was really a disappointment and unfair business i experienced. I will not be retuning to them again. ** update on review. Ron called me and adjusted the fee and was really nice and apologized for the previous experience we had. Well my daughter who is attending Oregon State (Go Beav's). called me (I live in California) telling my the nissan sentra shes driving has a hard time starting and service light on. Well my heart sunk because i"m so far away but I sent her to a shop that was open Saturday. Well after diagnostic they told her the problem and want a large amount! I told her no and that I would look around for her. well i saw G&L on the web saw saw 5 star reviews. So I gave them a call talked to Ron who was very helpful! they ended up doing the work for less then half of what the other shop/tire store wanted.and that's with a oil job on top! they took good care of my baby girl. Best car mechanic I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They're quick, reasonably priced, and know what they're doing. We had to have our car towed there after breaking down over the weekend. They had the car ready to go by 2pm on Monday and it ended up costing much less than expected. I've had nothing but good experiences with them and would not take my car anywhere else. read more

I went to this shop for almost 2 years without any issues, then my highlander just stopped running, it appeared to be electrical, the next day I cleaned the battery posts and it fired right up. The headlights would dim unless the engine was revved up, I suspected the alternator. I took it to Les Schwab for a free elec. load test and sure enough the alt. was not putting out enough power to keep the battery charged, etc... I scheduled an appt. with Ronnie and they said the alt. was fine. Not wanting to argue with a repair shop that refuses a repair I took it to another shop in town, they found (correctly) that the alt. did need replacing and quickly installed one and I have since switched to this new shop for all of my auto repair and maint. read more

They didn't try to pull the "you're just a girl" thing with me and gave me honest answers. They even took me to work and picked me up when my car was done. I was searching for a specific car, and I unfortunately found it at G&J. They were so eager to sell the car, that they ended up making a mistake on my paperwork and mislead me to believe my payments were cheaper. And because I took the time to look in to the issue, Dennis was SUPER rude! He talked to me like I was an idiot, when it was their pushiness that led to the mistake in the first place! After all was said and done, I looked at their website to see what they were selling my old car, which I traded, for. Just out of curiosity. When reading the description to the car, I was shocked! They completely lied about the MPGs the car gets, and were selling it for WAY more than it was worth on KBB. Makes me wonder what they lied about with the car I bought! Especially since it has been making weird noises, and I have had the car less than a month! After purchasing the car, and telling friends about it, I found several friends that have also had bad experiences with them! Taking their cars in for repairs, they end up being told a bunch of other stuff needs to be fixed, and then never even fixing the original problem! I have had friends that have said they took their car in to have the power steering fixed, and after hundreds of dollars being spent to fix it, it still doesn't work! And they were super rude to my friend about that too! If all this wasn't bad enough, I came home one evening, to find a box of cookies and a note from them on my doorstep. The thought was nice, but seriously... they came to my house! THAT IS CREEPY!! My address was not given to them, so they could come find my house! I understand that we live in a small community here in this town, and they were trying to be friendly, but it is creepy! read more

Very happy with my 4Runner. I originally came in to get a quote for a leveling kit for a 4th gen 4Runner and was offered different options. I made an appointment and dropped off my truck in the morning and got it back at the end of the day. I was very pleased at the overall end result look. I did a lot of research on whether I should've done a 2" vs 2.5" I ended up with a 2.5" kit which looks great! They have great customer service and friendly staff. 6 months later my car is back in Hawaii and I couldn't be happier. read more

We were very impressed with G&J Auto Center because they honored our AAA insurance membership and gave us # 1 customer & mechanical service. After our RV was towed to their shop in the mid afternoon we had within 1.5 hours a diagnosis and part ordered and repair to be completed by the next morning.
