Delicious. The Wicked Tuna Roll easily 9/10. The Rainbow Roll was so good, I could honestly just have that all day. The Philly Roll is a classic, 10/10 easy. Disappointing Experience at Wicked Tuna - Murrell's Inlet I rarely leave negative reviews, but our visit to Wicked Tuna was frustrating from start to finish. The service was inattentive and disorganized. Our drink order was wrong not once, but twice. Each time we politely clarified, and each time it came back incorrect. The only apology was that the server's Toast handheld system was sending ghost tickets to the bar. Yet, this was not happening to any other table. The food took ages to arrive, and when it finally did, my risotto was stone cold. We sent it back, hoping for a quick fix, but it returned just as cold--clearly not reheated properly. At that point, we gave up trying to salvage the meal. The server offered to take 35% off the risotto, but that was quickly followed up by the manager who took the meal off the check and offered to make me something else. I did not want anything at this point. She did bring piping hot risotto out for me with a To-Go container, and, while the risotto was hot, the rice was still hard and crunchy. This was a pretty bad kitchen fail. The night got two stars because the food the rest of my party had was good. For a restaurant that markets itself as upscale coastal dining, the experience felt more like a chaotic fast food joint with a scenic view. I left hungry, disappointed, and baffled by the poor experience. I had been looking forward to Wicked Tuna having made reservations over 2 months in advance. Murrell's Inlet has plenty of great spots--this, unfortunately, wasn't one of them. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Wicked Tuna (Murrell's Inlet) on March 31, 2023 after golf. At 5 pm, the place was not very busy. Our server was prompt and cordial. It was a very cool and windy day, so unfortunately we were not able to sit on their back deck to enjoy the view. My husband had the grilled seafood platter. It was well prepared and more than he could eat. He gave it four stars. I had a special of the day with seafood in a cream sauce on top of a risotto. Both were tasty but not spectacular. (It was supposed to be a mushroom risotto, but I couldn't detect any.) I'd give it three stars. We stopped here to grab dinner after visiting the marsh walk. We sat on the outdoor patio, and the view was great. The servers were attentive and nice. We ordered oysters, dragon egg, tuna pizza, and a salmon roll. The server got our sushi order wrong but corrected it on the check once we made him aware of it. Also, the beer glass had a Splenda wrapper inside, which was gross. The food was great and was served quickly, but the beer glass thing kind of left a bad taste, and we may not return here. Sushi is delicious! We started with Yum Yum Grouper bites and they were fantastic. Seaweed salad was fresh and had a nice flavor with the soy. Three plates of sushi rolls filled us up. This place is not very good. Especially for the price point. First of all, it's about 90 in the place. No air conditioning, no fans. Just stale dead air. None of our food came out in the correct order. Soup came after the entrées, appetizers came out about the same time as the entrées. I asked for a knife multiple times, but the waitress kept forgetting it. I never did get one. She was nice and friendly but the place was understaffed and my neice sat their without any food until everyone else was midway through their meals. We had a wonderful, early dinner here on New Years Eve! Headed up for Charleston to check out Brookgreen and swung in here before hand. Our server was incredible - had the best time with him! The food was well paced and the food runners were kind and helpful as well. It's a large restaurant but never felt loud. They do have large decks that are enclosed/heated in the winter. Their wine selection is somewhat limited but we found a great option. The cocktails were great! The beef carpaccio and tuna tartare were perfect starters. The seafood topped scallops hit the spot and my father in law loved his surf and turf. Both had the risotto with them which was really nicely done. We asked to be moved and were told that was reserved for a table of 11. Was recommended to come check out the area and decided to try Wicked Tuna out after wonderful night. As it was a holiday weekend, all seating was completely full but we managed to find seating at the bar upstairs. The restaurant is big - we didn't get to explore the rest of the restaurant but could tell this was the perfect place to come to enjoy a night out with good food. The Bang Bang Grouper was absolutely delicious and something I don't recall ever having before. I ordered the fish sandwich which came out fried (although ordered grilled) but was great nonetheless. As a side note : The fries were so good - normally I don't finish all of them but I could not stop eating them and found myself looking for more once I was done. We started with a couple drinks, then leisurely transitioned into dinner. We wanted to order the Oysters Rockefeller, but we forgot. We got caught up in great conversation and the relaxing atmosphere, which I have to say is the biggest reason why I love going out for meals. When I'm cooking for friends at my home I get distracted by the food prep, making sure everything is just right, and the connection with friends wanes. But I digress. The food and service at Wicked Tuna were great. We had zero wait, but if we had it would have been worth it. My sushi (pictured) was fresh and delicious. Some of the ingredients in the rolls are repeated in other rolls, so what sounds like different rolls might only differ between seaweed or soy paper and sweet or spicy. But what they offer is delicious and can't be diminished. Fish and Chips was Grouper (fish of the day) in a light batter that I'm betting was influenced by Tempura. It allowed the fresh flavor of the Grouper come though without a heavy, pasty batter or greasy taste. Truly delicious! They have their own Pastry Chef so save room for dessert. We opted for the Assorted Cookies and Crème Brûlée with fruit compote. You can't go wrong with the food here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

Okay I went here while on my vacation in Murrells Inlet, SC. The resort I was staying at said it was good and my wife wanted seafood so like a good husband I took my wife there. It was okay. My wife had the seafood platter and I had the ribeye. But before that, we had the wicked shrimp appetizer. The Wicked Shrimp was good, it just wasn't enough wicked sauce on the shrimp. I've been married long enough I can tell after the first bite if my wife likes the food. Everything on the platter was tasteless except the shrimp, the shrimp had a different breading on it. Any steak lover out there will tell you that there's nothing worse than a under seasoned steak. If you are wanting A1 sauce, that's not good. Especially on a ribeye! Nuff said. I only have high praise for Wicked Tuna. We had 23 people in our party. Our waiters & the servers were amazing. They were great & organized & handled a party that size amazingly. The covered patio with the windows open was a great place to sit. It had a beautiful view. The food was so good. The Dragon Egg appetizer is something you have to try. We were originally sat in the dinning room section. We didn't get greeted for over 10 mins, so we eventually got up to move to the bar, but the host notified that only patio bar was open at the time. Vibes were much more casual out there! We felt severely under dressed in the main dinning room.. We were also happy to find out that they had happy hour going on. Server was great out there! Can't remember his name... but we got a round of drinks, apps, and sushi. The wings were a tad dry and fried pickles were sitting in too much grease in the bottom of the bowl so those got soggy pretty quick. Sushi wasn't terrible but nothing phenomenal. Rice was a bit on the harder side as and fish wasn't fishy but didn't taste super fresh either. In hindsight, I am SOO glad we didn't get greeted and ended up going out there because if we had paid for the full menu price for any of that food, I would've been upset by the quality of it. Drinks are at a great price during happy hour as well and the variety was expansive. TLDR: mediocre food but great value during happy hour. I wouldn't come back outside of happy hour. Normally, we love this place, however, we visited in December and we were scammed. We were there for happy hour and the bill came out to 136.00, however, when I checked my bank account later that week, we were charged 256.00!!!! We tried to dispute it, however, we couldn't find our receipt. The food that night was definitely not worth $256.00. The nachos that I got even had salsa that had gone bad. The salsa tasted acidic. I'm surprised I didn't get sick. I know they were about to close for the season, so maybe our waitress was trying to get an extra $100 tip since she would be out of work . So, I hate that we were scammed because we actually love coming to wicked Tuna. The ocean front view, the good food....I know that this was probably an isolated situation of wait staff needing extra money, however, the next time we visit, we will definitely make sure we pay with cash so that we are not scammed again. We visited Wicked Tuna while in Myrtle Beach, it's one of many great restaurants and bars that are on Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina. You can walk all down the warf walkway and stop into each place. Carry a drink around outside. Drew was our server and bartender. He had great suggestions for food and was very kind and helpful. We had the mussels in the shell served in a bowl with bacon and a tomato broth and grilled bread toast. Excellent!! The mussels are small and very delicious. Next we tried the pork Goyoza dumplings! Deep fried and delicious. Last we shared Drew's suggestion of the Yum Yum Sushi Roll, EXCELLENT!! Great sushi here. We'll definitely come back. Great view of the water from the bar. Open air windows. We came here for lunch and walked in right when they opened. We came here as we heard their sushi was great. When we walked in, we were greeted and seated immediately. Mandy was our server! As we looked at the menu, we originally ordered a couple of sushi rolls but we were told sushi isn't served for lunch until noon. Mandy was awesome and extremely apologetic every time she came back to tell us they didn't have what they ordered. We ended up with their grilled chicken panini, fried calamari as appetizer and shrimp po-boy. My in laws had popcorn shrimp and the burger since they weren't selling sushi. The food was okay - not great for the price you're paying. Half the menu was sushi and for them to not offer until noon, that was disappointing. The quality of the food for the price - not worth it. My family has eaten at the Tuna Shak and Wicked Tuna several times. The best part is the view. It's a great place to hangout near the water. The Tuna Shak has happy hour deals that are reasonably priced, but in my opinion, the Wicked Tuna is overpriced. The last time we went, I ordered a $50 steak well done. It came out browned, bleeding/raw when cut. It took forever for them to finish cooking it, and they didn't offer any discount or any apologies for the mistake/wait. From now on, we plan to stick with the Tuna Shak. read more
