[[HIGHLIGHT]]The Hot Fish Club was a lot of fun. It's situated right on the water, giving you a beautiful view during the day, and kind of an eerie one at night![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had a few different bars that you could order at, with the main one being inside, another little hut outside, and a cash bar next to that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also had a pretty cool live band, with a viewing patio right in front of the stage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In regards to my visit to Hot Fish, I'd say I was most impressed with the bartenders at the establishment, who did a great job under pressure. Even though the place was packed, and especially the bar area, they did a great job of remaining calm, and even got our drinks out in a relatively quick period of time. They also made some awesome blue Gatorade shots, which were some of the best shots I've ever had! I didn't necessarily love that there were cops standing guard at the entrance, but the bar's own security staff and bouncers were really nice, which isn't something you see at every one of these places. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only downsides to the Hot Fish Club were that many of the plastic chairs in the outside area were broken and cracked, making it kind of hard to sit a large-sized group like ours (they had a lot of wooden tables, but they were all taken),[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and that [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restroom situation was awful. According to the girls in our group, the actual, physical restrooms were disgusting, forcing them to use the giant line of porta potties.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This isn't a huge deal for guys, but it was a little uncomfortable for the ladies. Ok- I have been eating here 25 years, but I don't know if I will go back. The roasted pears with goat cheese- overcooked and not enough sweetness. The sea bass, overcooked and the green beans are tasteless, the service is still good , the ambiance is great, the history is amazing, and your food was, but I can see the difference in the quality of your crab cakes, has really changed since the last visit. It's still much better than most, but it's not as good as it was.... It was excellent. Now it's just better than most. Make reservations ! read more

Maaaaaan I love this place! I came last weekend and sat upstairs in the gazebo. Unfortunately, my favorite appetizer is no longer on the menu, the crab crostinis. Pleeeaaaase bring them back, they're the item I talk about the most on the menu! I tried 2 new items, the braised short ribs and the seared yellowfin tuna. I liked the tuna, but personally won't get it again. There are better fish options on the menu, like the sea bass or mahi mahi. The braised short ribs were PHENOMENOL. I love short ribs and I will definitely order this again. The sauce was perfect, the meat was tender, and the mashed potatoes were delicious as always. I'm glad I tried the new dishes and found one that I'll be reordering. Service was great, as usual. There was a hiccup in the food delivery, but the server owned up to the mistake and remedies the situation. To me. The way the hiccup was handled made me love this restaurant more and appreciate the service they deliver. My final thoughts, please bring back the crostinis!! read more

Hot Fish Club is one of my favorite places to go. We went and had reservations. I over heard one of the workers who said the outdoor spot was now centrally heated. We were led to our table by the hostess and a short time later the waitress came by to get our drink order. We ordered dinner after enjoying our cocktails for a bit. A special shrimp and curry dish for him and the stuffed lobster tails for me. Our dishes came with risotto and asparagus. Both were delicious. If you see me there, stop by and say hello. read more

My mother, my best friend Nevaeh, and I had a deeply concerning experience at Hot Fish Club involving an employee named Mike, who was checking IDs at the entrance. When we initially arrived, our IDs were checked without issue. Shortly afterward, Nevaeh realized she had accidentally left her ID in the car. She returned a few minutes later with her ID, apologized for the delay, and laughed about the mistake. At that point, Mike's demeanor became aggressive. He forcefully shoved Nevaeh, causing her to lose her balance and fall into me. In my opinion, this was an unnecessary use of physical force, and there was no justification for the situation to escalate to physical contact. After witnessing this, my mother immediately decided we would leave because of the hostility of the interaction. As we were already walking away, Mike stated that he was "escorting" us off the property, despite the fact that we had already chosen to leave voluntarily. Once we were in the vehicle, Mike approached and took a photograph of my mother's license plate, stating that he was going to report us for drinking and driving. My mother was our designated driver, had not consumed any alcohol, and was also providing another individual with a ride to Hot Fish Club as a courtesy. We found this behavior intimidating, unwarranted, and highly unprofessional. Throughout the entire interaction, Mike maintained an aggressive and confrontational demeanor that unnecessarily escalated the situation. What should have been a routine ID check turned into an experience that left us feeling unsafe and disrespected. I hope management conducts a thorough investigation into this incident, including the physical altercation involving my friend and the threats made toward my mother. Customers should be able to expect respectful, professional treatment when visiting your establishment. read more

Incredible restaurant in Murrel's inlet right on the water! It has a hole in the wall vibe on the outside, and an upscale feel on the inside. And both the food and the views are to die for! We came on a Friday night and it was quite busy. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a table in about an hour. We sat outside and listened to live music by the water, which was incredible. There's plenty of benches and an outside bar to grab a drink, and a place for littles to play on the playground. We ordered the crab meat dip (not pictured because ), the mahi with crab and grits, and the blackened fish sandwich with green beans. Everything was excellent and we left there stuffed! The wontons served with the crab dip were a fun spin on chips, and there was so much meat in the dip. The mahi with grits were unbelievably excellent. The fish sandwich was a pleasant surprise as well, and a huge portion! They have plenty of drinks available as well, which is great. It is a little on the pricier side, but the portions and the taste of the food is so worth it. Will definitely be back for more! read more

Enjoyed a delicious meal with fantastic service by Avery at the Hot Fish Club. The Seafood Corn Chowder was delivered nice and hot and had plenty of flavor and seafood throughout each spoonful. The Roasted Pear appetizer hit the spot, while the main entre the Lobster Pot Pie with its flaky puff pastry crust over Chunks of lobster, shrimp & scallops in a white wine cream sauce was a real winner. The pot pie is large enough for 2 people or one very hungry person. We enjoyed the quiet and spacious seating on the enclosed back porch with a view of the inlet. I will always give this place Every time we're in the Myrtle Beach area we come twice. The place is a great cross between casual local hang out and upscale casual. We dressed up a bit each night just for fun and felt right at home beside folks in shorts and sandals. This week enjoyed a wide range of choices from the menu. My husband and I have gone to your establishment a good many times but always sat at the bar. We had guests this time and made a reservation to sit in the dinning room. And to tell you I wasn't impressed with our server. Not at all she shouldn't be a server. We had an order taker with an attitude. I had to ask her twice for water for the table there was four of us. She never told her her name that's why I can't put it down because if I did, I would've put it down older woman dark hair? I'm sure if you look at my last name, you sat in the corner by the door in the dining room by the glass windows she came to the table no sequence of service steps at all ask us what we wanted to drink never asked if we've been here before it seems like we were being rushed to hurry up and get our drink order and everything was a rushed to her never gave any kind of owe. It's her favorite drink. Food should come up. Do you want any appetizers? That was it? I told her we were gonna get a little of everything appetizers for sharing entrées for sharing the face that she put on her. Everyone saw at the table. Whatever happened to the guest experience you guys lacking this big time restaurants here are diamond dozen, and if the service is terrible, we can move on to another restaurant. We ask how many scallops were in the entrée. She didn't know maybe three or four couldn't even tell us the size all she did is she was worried about taking care of other people than us the worst server ever these servers need to know their product information so they can sell. I saw nothing like that coming from her and I'm sure a lot of servers were the same. Whatever happened to a while the guest experience. I blame this on management you guys should be held accountable. Do you even test your servers on their knowledge of drinks and food or table maintenance terrible. I have to say if my guest weren't there I would've walked out that's how bad it was not a smile from her. Nothing I don't care how her day was going. We're paying good money and it was good money. Believe you mean that we paid and she gets still we paid her or tipped her good because I have been in the restaurant. I'm letting you guys know now because in the future if I decide to go there, I will tip accordingly. You guys really need to take a step higher on service. Your host was a nice girl, but she should've walked us right to the table and put a menu down at each chair and tell us the name of the server and then she'll be right with you. She kind of just set them down and walked away the food I have to say was good. The scallops were drowning in sauce so anything drowning in sauce will taste good. A little goes a long way, especially on scallops. If you guys don't believe me, you should do a secret diner where they go to the bar they go to the table and they actually grade you guys because if I was a secret diner, you guys would've flunked completely and I blame the management for this and I hope that the owner does see this. I'll go back again, but I only sit at the bar and I could use a little bit more too I have to say the sushi was really good and came out at a timely manner. Cocktails were very good. Bartender did a good job on that. By the way, don't lose your bus boys walk around with the bus tubs and fill it up. It looks kind of trashy looking. He really shouldn't have that much stuff to pick up since the server should be doing their table maintenance. The only thing that he should really have to pick up are the glasses and dessert plates with his hands and bring it to the back. Also saw your servers with trays with drinks on it setting in the trays on the table and handing everybody their drinks. This is a big no-no come on. You guys should be having pride in your service, but we go to the bar outside afterwards you guys have no wine. Food was really done well. Calamari was cooked perfectly and the strips were thick and not chewy at all. The marinara dipping sauce was freshly made and really flavorful. The seafood pastry puff pot pie was absolutely amazing and was also stuffed full of the "good stuff" and not just filler like some places try to pass off as "seafood" pot pie. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were sitting at the bar so there were the obvious annoyances you encounter...anyone who has had a meal at "the bar" knows the pros and cons associated with doing so. This place is no different. so don't be surprised by that[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is rustic, old, somewhat vintage, dark lighting seafood vibe, dark wood, worn and well used environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was the star in this establishment. The inlet has A LOT of choices to choose from along the strip. This is a good one. Food was upper level while maintaining the "divey" aspect that is so prevalent in the inlet strip of establishments. Parking was a hat trick so make sure you read the signs and if it says paid parking they really mean it. Pay attention and follow the rules. read more

We're from Jersey and love our seafood. Heard that the best seafood on the Island was up at Hot Fish Club in Murrell's Inlet. After a round of golf at WACHESAW EAST, we decided to stop at Hot Fish for dinner. It was during the week so we didn't think we needed a reservation. We were seated right away, but the restaurant was crowded! We hoped that was a good sign! My husband ordered the Lobster Pot Pie and he said it was delicious! Sorry I didn't think to take pictures till we were done! I ordered the fried shrimp, w/baked potato and extra tartar sauce! This dish took me right back to my childhood! There were a decent amount of shrimp (I think more than 12) and they were big, not the small ones you usually get in a basket. Overall, an excellent meal and experience. I've been a few times now, and I need to broden my horizons but that mahi, it's just too dang good. I usually get the crab stuffed mahi. I could live off crab dip, and the one they serve here is so amazing. We tried the sushi on my birthday last year as well, and whereas I'm not big on sushi, this roll is the best one I've ever tried. I just wish I could remember the name of it, but it was a very hectic weekend outside of my birthday since my grandma was in the hospital close to passing (and did the day of my birthday ). Of course, we all know that the beach is extremely hot during the summer, but if you happen to visit this location during the fall, they usually have live music out back and they have a bunch of chairs so you can order a drink and relax by the marsh with nice music while you wait on your table. All of the waitstaff here has been amazing as well, they answer any questions you have, even if they're stupid ones about what kind of fish that weird name is, and they are on top of taking care of the table and making sure everything is perfect. This is definitely a location that you must try if you happen to be in the area visiting, or even as a local. It is my favorite of all of the surrounding area so far, and we've tried most of them. read more
